    Quote from Minxe

    Caanigan, I just read the first chapter, and I barely made it through. Sorry, I'm a bit of a grammar/spelling/punctuation nut when it comes to stories. To be honest, I thoroughly enjoyed chapter one, and I think you are a pretty good writer. I'm almost willing to go through and help you correct the grammatical errors that you made, except that I'm writing a story and helping another guy with grammar/spelling/punctuation at the moment. However, I would be willing to work with you to add in more details to the story. There are a lot of places where it skips over possible information, and stories are, after all, all about information, are they not?

    In order to make a story more complete, a writer must take into account every detail they are willing to, pay attention to every minor grammatical/spelling/punctuation error that appears. To relate to your story: you need to come up with a better idea of what the town/village looks like. In doing so, you will undoubtedly be able to lengthen your story, not just your chapters.

    Farteh16 said that "Your story needs better paragraphing." That is true. You do not, however, need to make your paragraphs shorter, as you said. Look at my story for instance. The spacing makes it easier to read, does it not?

    Just a bit of friendly advice, tips, and tricks. I do not in any way intend to be rude, intrusive, or otherwise controlling or demanding. I do not know if you have the time to do this, but if you do please at least attempt to do something that I stated in the above statements. Thank you.

    i would love to work together =] i want to make the story as good as i possibly can

    CHATER 8:

    Night time came. A week had pasted since the incident at the bridge and I could feel us getting so close to the mountain but every hill we went over it never showed up. I began to question
    whether or not we were heading in the right direction. I looked around it started to seem like the land was begginning to get flatter but that could be the darkness fooling my mind. Everyone got tired of walking
    so we stopped for the night. I gathered some wood I barely found laying around our campsite, while everyone set up their tents. I walked back over to the camp which at this time was about 10 yards away.
    I'm not a big fan of the dark so I jumped at every noise I heard and searched frantic where it was. So I decided to run back. I made the fire and we all sat around it warming our hands and feet. We could hear
    owl's hooting and crickets chirping.

    "Man what a beautiful night sky huh guys?" Said James as he looked at the stars.
    "Yeah it's really pretty." Answered Carrie.
    "Y'know I used to go to this lake that was at the town I used to live and just sit on this rock and watch stars all night. I started going there after my mom passed away, it really helped me take my
    mind off of things. I took Selen there one night, that was a good night for sure." I started saying.
    "I used to do that but in these times now it's hard always having to work, seems like you never get any time to yourself." Said James.
    "Hey I found the little dipper... and the big dipper to right next to the little dipper!" Reg said in excitement quickly changing the conversation.
    "Do you feel accomplished Reg?" I said to him in a sarcastic tone.
    "Yes, yes I do!" He said smiling.
    "So how long you think it will take to find Mt.Korjane? I mean we've been traveling for at least two weeks now and nothing." I asked everyone.
    "Couldn't tell yeah never been there. But it shouldn't be to much further hopefully." Answered Carrie.
    "Well it needs to show up sooner we have a crisis at our hand and we got to stop this fast." I replied.
    "Yeah I know but my guess is we will be there in four days at most." Carrie said.
    "Or if we don't stop for a night we can make it two and a half." Reg said joined in the conversation.

    We sat there for a few minutes not talking, just enjoying the night and warming our appendages. After about a half an hour we all got tired and went asleep in our tents. Soon it was morning.
    Taking down our camp we started getting prepared to leave once more. The sun was begginning to rise, it look amazing with the way it made the sky glow with orange and the way it
    made the landscape around us shine making it look more amazing. Walking north now we were on our way. Traveling about seven hours we approached a large forest, lots of trees lots of shrubs, my suspicions
    grew as I looked into the forest. As we were in the forest it sounded as if there was something jumping from tree to tree. I looked up...nothing just leaves and branches. Out of nowhere an arrow came cutting through
    the air impaling itself into James's left leg. The tip of the arrow sticked out the back and the feathers stuck out in front.

    "Ah! My leg!" James yelled in agony as he laid on the ground with an arrow in his leg. Carrie stayed there next to James trying to prevent some blood lose.

    I quickly ran behind him lifted him from under his arms and dragged him behind a tree to give him some protection. I peeked around the corner to see where the bowsman was. As I did an arrow zoomed right by
    my face nearly impaling my skull. I quickly pulled my face away and hid it behind the tree. A thought came to my mind, and I ran from one tree to another as quick as I could. Doing this helped me from
    being shot and I could get closer to the bowsman. Finally almost to the person I saw that this person had a female build but her face was covered by a mask and she wore a hood. Her clothes were black
    and it looked as if it was easily mobile in what she wore. I looked into her eyes... blue. She ran out of arrows and she started hoping from tree to tree I followed her running. After a period of time she finally
    reached the ground and I chased her down. I caught up to her so I tackled her to the ground and she turned so she her back was on the ground. I laid on top of her motionless staring at her. I couldn't believe
    what I was seeing. I knew who she was and since she didn't move or say anything I could tell she knew me as well.

    "Selen?!" I asked her

    She pulled off her mask that covered her mouth and nose and said.

    "Arev?! Is that you?" She asked shockingly since we hadn't seen each other in weeks.
    "Yeah it is..." I said to her.
    "Oh my god! I thought I would never see you again!" She said to me happily.

    I kissed her and she kissed back as she put her hands on the back of my head while mine wrapped around her waist.

    "I missed you so much Selen you have no idea how painful it was not knowing if you were alive or not!" I said to her.
    "I think I do I couldn't stop crying for days after the attack. I felt kind of depressed and I wouldn't talk to anyone."
    "You don't need to be anymore..." I said to her as I kissed her on the forward, still hugging her.
    "Hey you know... you almost shot me!" I continued.
    "Yeah sorry about that, but didn't I hit that one man?" Selen asked me.
    "Oh yeah! Hurry come with me!"

    We got up off the ground and ran to James. He still laid there with the arrow in his leg. I picked him up.

    "The the hell is this?!" Reg yelled angrily as he glared at Selen.
    "No time we need to get James to safety!" I yelled back to him.
    "Follow me I know where we can find the doctor!" Selen said quickly.

    Selen led us to where her new town was located and she took us to the doctor who had just finished putting bandages around a mans arm.

    "Jim we need your immediate attention!" Said Selen.
    "What is this?" He said shockingly as he looked at the arrow in James's leg.
    "He got an arrow shot into his leg and we need to remove it fast and bandaged up so he doesn't die of blood lose." She answered.
    "Set him on that table there i'll take care of it, you guys leave me to my work." He told us.

    I put him on the table he directed me to put him and we all left him to his work hoping James wouldn't die. An hour passes and Jim came back out of the big white tent he was in.

    "I managed to get the arrow out. Good news is he will live. He's lucky that arrow had almost penetrated a major artery...the only bad thing is, is that he won't be able to walk for a couple days."
    "Oh thank god it wasn't any worse." Carrie said in relief.
    "He's resting now so you can visit him in a few hours."
    "Thank you Jim!" I said to Jim.
    "No problem it's my job." Jim replied.

    The doctor went back into the tent and we stood there relieved.

    "So now Arev...who is she?" Reg said pointing at Selen as anger came to his face again.
    "This is Selen the one I told you about." I answered Reg.
    "Oh she's the one you told us about?!" Carrie said shockingly.
    "Yes this is Selen." I answered.
    "Nice to meet you!" Selen said as she stuck her hand out to Carrie for a greeting handshake.

    Carrie shook her hand and so did Reg.

    "Sorry I got mad it's just I get pretty protective when someone injures my friends." Said Reg
    "It's fine don't worry about it, if I would have known you guys were with Arev, this never would have happened. I was only protecting what's left of our town." Selen said back to Reg.
    "Understandable." He replied.
    "Which one of you is Arev?" Jim said as he came out of the tent.
    "That would be me why you ask?" I answered him.
    "James would like to talk to you alone." He answered me.

    I walked into the tent and James was drinking some water while half sitting up on a bed and white blankets covering him.

    "Arev... come." He said to me. I got on one knee next to him and I asked.
    "Yeah what is it James?"
    "I want you to get to the gods, leave me here ill catch up once im all recovered." He said in a soft tone since he had just woken up.
    "Are you sure? I want you to go with me though." I said to him.
    "Yes I'm sure, you have a job to do and that's protecting our world. You can't wait for a few days and hope everything goes fine, because it won't. The sooner the better right?"
    "Yeah I suppose so. Well take care alright? We'll come back for yeah once we return."
    "I'll take your word for it." He said as a smile came across his face.

    I left the tent so James could continue to rest. I walked up to Selen and gave her a hug.

    "Well who's ready to take on the gods?!" I said out loud to everyone.
    "Wait... what gods?" Selen asked.
    "Oh right, you don't know yet. Take us to your place and we'll explain everything their." I said to Selen.

    We began walking to where Selen's new home was. It was quiet far, passing by villagers, tents even a lake. I could tell some of the villagers recognized me but I tried not to make eye contact nor talk to any of them.
    Some villagers attempted to talk to me but I ignored them, some even called my name. We finally made it to Selens new home she had set up. It was about a ten foot long tent and it stood up about eight feet. The
    width extended longer than the hieght of the tent, which was good for spacing. We walked in all that was there was a small table two chairs and a bed. I chose to sit on the nearest chair while Selen sat on the bed
    next to Carrie and Reg sat in the other chair.

    CHAPTER 9:

    "Are these gods even real?!" Asked Selen
    "I don't know but it's worth a try." I said back to her.
    "Well if they're not even real, you could risk your life for nothing!"
    "Well at this time we really don't have any other option. It's either try and find these gods or have our world destroyed by a dragon."
    "Eh I really don't think this is a good idea but when you do put it that way there isn't really a choice... I'm going with you." Selen said to me.
    "No it's to dangerous I can't let you risk your life again I won't let it happen."
    "I never asked you if I could, I'm going no madder what you say." She said as a grin came across her face.
    "Arev, I think there's no arguing with her I think she's made up her mind on this." Said Reg. I looked over to Selen and she sat on the bed smiling at me as if she knew I was going to be taking her with us.
    "I guess your right, alright Selen you can come..." I said to her.
    "So are we ready then?" Carrie said as she walked into the tent.
    "Yeah all set." Reg answered.

    So all of us stood up from the chairs and the bed and we worked our way outside. It was still mid-day outside and the sun blinded me for a second as I walked out and I put my hand over my eyes. We had
    Selen lead us out of town and after we were out Carrie lead us. We walked for about a day and way far in the distance was what seemed like the top to a mountain.

    "Hey guys! Do you see that?!" I yelled out as I pointed to the mountain.
    "Yeah I do! You think that's it?" Asked Carrie.
    "I'm more than certain that's it!" I said back.

    The pathway started getting really rough and there was deep holes all around. The ground looks charred as if someone torched it. I looked around and I saw small pools of lava. Looking at my surrounding
    some more I saw super hot steam shooting up out of the ground so I began to get weary.

    "Watch out for that steam that will burn the skin right off of you." I said to everyone.
    "Will do." Reg said back to me.

    We took our steps really slow making sure we didn't get charred by the steam. Some were only a few feet away from me and it scared me when it did. I took another step and steam came bursting up right in front of
    my face. I fell back on to the ground scared half to death, breathing heavely. Reg grabbed me from under my left armpit and picked me up off the ground.

    "This isn't safe guys!" Selen cried out.

    As she said that the ground underneath us began to crumble away. So in an instant we were all running towards the mountain. Every few steps one of my feet would fall through the ground making me fall down.
    I tried to get up as fast as I could so I wouldn't fall through the ground. We could see stable ground only 10 yards away. Sprinting to the stable ground as fast as we could all go. We jumped, and as we did
    the ground around us, about a 100 yard radius collapsed and a giant pool of lava lied at the bottom about 50 yards deep.

    "Oh god that was way to close for comfort!" Said Reg as everyone stared at the lava gasping for breath.
    "How the hell is there lava way down here?!" I cried out.
    "I have not the slightest clue." Answered Carrie.
    "The mountain isn't to far now." Said Selen as everyone stood up.
    "Yeah we should probably make our way down there now." I replied.
    "Good idea I don't wanna be near this place anymore." Reg said quickly.

    Soon we neared the gate to the start of the long climb to the top of the mountain. I looked around and I saw these long pointy sticks sticking out of the ground and the ground and bushes were black. It looked as if
    a war had been fought here not only days ago. The only area I saw that wasn't black was on the mountain and a gate that we were slowly apporching. I glanced over to my right and there was a huge rock
    cliff that looked fairly easy to climb, if you had decent climbing skills. It was to quiet, I didn't like it. I had a feeling something might came out of no where at any point. The others looked as if they had there guard
    down, but not me. If something were to come I'de be ready for it. We took our backpacks off and set them on the ground.

    "Is that... a dog?!" Selen asked as we neared the gate.
    "Yeah I think that is." I answered as I got on one knee to pet it.

    At this point I started letting my guard down as I pet the dog. It just sat there doing nothing. I looked at it's mouth I noticed there was keys attached to a metal ring hanging from the dogs mouth.
    The key to gate was right there in front of us. This didn't seem to be something that would be easy to get, there was definently a catch but I didn't know what.

    "Guys something is definently not right here." I said to them.
    "There's nothing wrong all you have to do is take the keys." Reg said as he reached for the keys that were in the dogs mouth.

    When he reached for it the dog stood on all fours, arched its back and growled. Reg pulled away and when he did the dog started morphing into this massive creature. This creature had two horns on its forehead
    and a huge barrel chest. It was completely gray except the horns they were black. It stood on two feet like a normal person and stood 25 feet tall. It looked almost as if it was a minotaur. While it morphed you
    could hear the crunching of its bones expanding and the disfiguration of its whole body as it turn into this creature.

    "This ain't good!" Carrie said.
    "No it is not..." Reg said back.

    The monster looked over its right shoulder and saw a tree and walked over to it. It grabbed the tree and pulled it straight out of the ground. Turning back around it looked right at us with anger in its face.
    Every step it took it shoook the ground around us. A few times it almost knocked me out of balance, it felt as if there was an earthquake but there wasn't, just its massive heavy feet. It slowly ran at us building up speed,
    we dodged the creature just barely. It quickly turned around and we quickly stood up. It ran at us again and swung the tree at us, we ducked but it smashed Reg on its way through. It knocked Reg far into the air
    and he smacked against the side of the cliff.

    "Reg! No!" I cried out.

    He looked dead, but I couldn't run to him at this moment. The creature swung at us again, we fell to the ground. Then it lifted the tree up above its head, two hands on the tree and smashed it against
    the ground, we rolled out of the way before he attempted to crush us.

    "Follow me!" I yelled out to Selen and Carrie.

    I ran towards the cliff and began climbing it. I looked down at Reg he was motionless, I thought for sure he was dead at this point. He was bleeding heavely on the left side of his face and he had huge gashes
    throughout his body. It didn't look well for him. We got to the top of this giant rock just out of the reach of the creature. It tried grabbing for us but it couldn't reach. So it decided to smash the tree on the rock.
    With its intelligence I could tell... it had a small brain. The tree snapped in half. It looked at the tree confused and began using his fist. I lost my balance and I fell down the side of the rock. It didn't notice me at
    first so I tried to sneak away. I managed to get behind him but with my luck a stepped on a branch making a loud "SNAP"! Turning right in my direction the creature ran at me. I tried to dodge him but it kicked me
    and I flew on the ground. The impact from the fall knocked me out, leaving Selen and Carrie on the rock helplessly. Waking up slowly I could feel blood dripping off my brow. I reached up and touched it as I
    suspected it was blood. I looked at the cliff again and Selen and Carrie were still up there while the creature was still attempting to kill them. I pulled my sword out as I stood up. I felt really weak and I almost
    fell back to the ground. I managed to get the strength to stand up, but to fight this monster I wasn't so sure. I looked at Reg then at Selen. I got mad which helped boost my confidence with anger and adrenaline.
    I charge at it with the sword in my right hand. I sliced open part of its right leg and it cried out in pain. It turned to me and I motioned Selen and Carrie to get down, and so they did. Carrie pulled out her bow
    and shot the creature right into its left arm just below its shoulder. It didn't seem to notice it to much it was to content on me at this point. Selen was armed with her two daggers. The creature charged me again, this
    time I managed to do it. I quickly ran up the cliff, I had a plan. The creature followed me and I was on top of the cliff. I took a few steps back, ran, and jumped into the air with the sword in both my hands pointing
    down at the creature. I jammed the sword straight through its skull and I tried to push it in more to make sure it was dead. It cried out even louder than before and fell down on its back. I hung on to the sword
    and landed hard on its face. Getting up slowly I got off the creature and walked backwards looking at it.

    "Is it dead?" Asked Selen.
    "I don't know but it sure looks dead to me." I answered.

    Walking back to it I kicked it, walked on top of it opened its eyes, pulled the sword out of its skull and stood on its chest.

    "Dead..." I said in relief.

    They both sighed of relief and Carrie took off running to Reg. Selen and I followed her. Selen check his chest for a beat but she couldn't hear anything. She put one hand on top of the other on Reg's chest and pushed
    down on it. She counted 1,2,3 then put her ear next to his mouth, nothing. She did this two more times and on the third one she began balling her eyes out.

    "I can't believe he's dead!" She yelled out as she cried.

    Selen kneeled down next to her and wrapped her arms around her trying to confort her. I just stood there watching in shock. This was my second friend I had lost, I couldn't handle it anymore. Losing a friend
    is the worst thing to experience in your life especially when you see it first hand. Every friend you lose it makes you feel as if your about to have an emotional breakdown.

    "Hey Selen, Carrie, I want to stay, I really do but I have to get to the gods as quick as I can. I want you to stay here alright ill be back as soon as I can." I said to them trying to stay emotionally strong.
    "Ok... be quick, be safe, we'll stay until your return." Selen said still hugging Carrie.

    I searched the ground around us looking for the key. I found it near the gate. So I picked it up and walked up to the gate. I tried a few keys none were it. I went back to the creature I had killed and in his hand was
    the actual key. I grabbed it, ran and picked up my bag, ran to the gate, and unlocked it. I paused for a moment looking at the long pathway. I saw it as it lead up towards the top and out of sight.

    CHAPTER 10:

    Snow rushed by me hitting my face. It was extremely cold as the snow storm was looming overheard and raging around me. I had remembered that I had a blanket in my bag I was carrying. So I quickly took my
    bag off reached into my bag and took out the blanket and wrapped it around me. I was still freezing cold but I slowly began to warm up. Looking around I saw something in the distance, in a way it looked like
    a cave but it was hard to tell because it was covered by a giant pile of snow. I tried to go as quick as possible but in this weather it's hard to go fast, also considering the fact I was falling into the snow. As I approached
    the thing I had saw it was what I had hoped it would be... a cave. I went inside with caution since it looked abandoned and you never know what kind of creature would lie in this cave. It was pretty dark in it, the only part that was lit up was the entrance. There was rocks coming
    down off the rock ceiling and the ceiling had moisture on it. I heard water dripping on the floor further down the cave. I decided to stay near the entrance and sleep until the storm had past so I did.
    "CRASH!" I heard as I got up instantly and pulled out my sword. I looked around I saw nothing. Searching franticaly both left and right not seeing anything.

    "Hello?! Is anyone there!" I yelled down the cave.

    No response.

    "Hello?!" I yelled louder
    "If your their show yourself!" I continued.

    Nothing still. I stood up and began walking slowly to where I heard the noise at. As I approached it I realized it was only a rock that had made that crashing noise. I sighed of relief and sheithed my sword. I saw something
    move and once I did a huge hand backhanded the whole front of my body knocking me into the air and straight out the cave. I landed in the five foot snow which I'm glad I landed in because It hurt a lot less.
    The creature charged out of the cave. The creature walked on all fours and its mouth was extremely large containing many rows of sharp pointed teeth. Its arms were about three times my body size and its legs were
    much smaller about my size. It appeared a darker redish color and its hands were fists like a normal human, but they were huge. Its head was connected to its legs and its body from head to leg was
    curved downward. This was one ugly creature I can assure that. I took off running down the mountian in hopes of this creature tumbling down the hill. It followed my quickly gaining on me, it ran just like a rabid dog
    chasing a cat. I was scared out of my mind because this creature was one not to mess with. What I had hoped for worked, the creature lost its balance and tumbled down the hill. I ran back up hoping it wouldn't
    regain cntrol and went as fast as possible but it was hard because of the snow and the storm. I saw to my left a large cliff so I worked my way that way. I turned around seeing the creature standing back up so I tried
    to go faster then before. I looked off the cliff I saw a small lip, it looked fairly stable. I looked at where I was standing it looked like it could hold me so I got prepared for the creature to charge me. It got closer
    and closer 50 feet, 34 feet, 18 feet. It was nearly where I was so I hopped backwards not far tho grabbed on the cliff and placed my foot on the small lip. As the creature attempted to follow me the creature flew off
    the cliff a good 500 feet down causing it an instant death. The creature plattered into the ground and blood spewed everywhere. I pulled myself up off the cliff and sat there with my feet dangling
    off the side and looked at the scenery.

    "What a day..." I sighed in relief.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    "We should give him a proper burial" Carrie said to Selen as she got up from sitting on the ground leaning on the rock cliff.
    "Yeah we should, it's the least we could do." Selen said back to Carrie.
    Carrie and Selen dug out a decent sized hole, it was difficult for them since they didn't have shovels. They placed Reg gently into the hole and covered him up in dirt. They both stepped back and looked at
    where they buried Reg. Carrie began crying like she had before.
    "I still can't believe he's accually gone, it's so hard to take this in you know?" She said as she wiped teard off her cheek.
    "Yeah I know how you feel Carrie..." Selen answered
    "I lost many friends, and I also believed I had lost Arev that was a horrible experience." Selen continued.
    "Yeah, Reg was such a good friend. He was like my brother to me." Carrie began saying.
    "I just wish it was me and not him." She continued.
    "Don't say that, I'm sure his death was for a reason. There's probably a purpose for his death I'm sure of it."
    "Your probably right..."
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    I stood up and started walking to the cave again. I approached it and I was blinded by an extremely bright light.

    "Arev Sven Xanfar...!" A voice said out of the light. The voice was kind of whispered but loud. This voice didn't have a deap voice or high voice more of in the middle.
    "Y...yes...ss?" I said as I studdered, as the bright light dimmed down slightly.
    "You have killed the Arthaingoaise, you have shown true talent." It said to me.
    "What do you mean?" I asked.
    "I am the god of Balance. I control everything that balances the world around you. I control gravity, the balance between good and evil, the way things are run. I run the trial of strength and you have proven yourself
    worthy of deafeating this creature and finding the path to the temple."
    "Oh! Your are one of the three gods of the temple of ghastrasmos arn't you!" I asked it.
    "That is indead correct." It answered me.
    "And this will take me to the temple then?"
    "Correct, but before you arrive out our temple you must first pass the next two trials. Once done we shall await your arrival..." It said as the light and the voice dissappeared.
    "Wait, what do I do! Where do I go!" I yelled to it, but it was to late it was gone.

    I stood up straight I looked to my right and I noticed a dried up branch with some moss on it. I walked over to it and picked it up. I pulled some matched out of my bag and lit the stick and used it as my torch.
    I walked through the cave. It seemed to be getting smaller the further I went into it. Nothing was in here from what I had seen and my torch was begginning to burn out. The light of the torch grew smaller and smaller
    and the cave started to get really dark again. I looked for another stick but I couldn't find one, the torch burnt out. I was left helpless in pitch black darkness not knowing where to go or what is near me. I decided
    if I was gonna make any more progress I should walk slowly with my hands out in front of me, so that's what I did. After about 30 minutes I felt as if I was going in circles, it felt as if I was making absolutely no progress
    whatsoever. I saw a ghostly figure of a human, or what it seemed to be. It slowly walked towards me, it was about ten feet away.

    "Are you lost sir?" Said the ghost in a ghostly sort of tone.
    "Uh yeah I am." I answered back to it.
    "I know the way, follow me." It said as it smiled at me and stuck its hand out to help me up.

    I reached out to grab its hand but it just went through it, so I stood up on my own. The ghost looked depressed as I got up on my own as it still had its hand up. He put his hand down and said

    "This way...come."

    I followed him, the only thing I could see was the ghost. Hoping he was going the correct way I continued to follow him putting my hands out so I wouldn't run into things. I could see around where the ghost walked
    as the light slightly illuminated around him. We continued through the cave and I started to step into water. I looked down and there was about and inch of water on the ground, at least it what it seemed since it was dark.

    "Are you after the gods, I pressume?" The ghost said to me.
    "Yes I am." I answered back.
    "Y'know I've seen them." He said back to me.
    "Really?!"
    "Yeah they're very large."
    "So you've obviously have completed the trials then to?" I asked.
    "Yeah I have."
    "What's up ahead? What am I to exspect?"
    "That is for you to find it. The gods have placed different kinds of trials for every person. There is no telling what lies ahead only you will find that." It answered me.
    "Oh... well you don't mind that I ask exactly how you died do you?"
    "No of course not. Um lets see, its been so long. Ah now I remember, I was being hunted down many years back. These men or creatures more politically correct, were begginning to take over. As I recall they were
    called Draconics. I sought out the gods to find out how I may destroy them once and for all. Since I was being hunted I was also being followed. So I passed through each of the trials, as I walked the steps to the temple
    one of the Draconic members shot an arrows into the back of my leg. They approched me as I lied on the floor bleeding. Then I believe his name was Argos, asked me where the sword was I spit in his face
    and told him that I wasn't going to tell him anything. So he killed me right there. But as they killed me it angered the gods for reasons I couldn't tell you and they torched them all leaving ashes. Argos somehow managed
    to escape death and was seeking to kill off all the Elders and bring back the dragons."
    "Wait... your a Carn Isle Elder arn't you?!" I yelled to him.
    "That is correct I am an Elder."
    "So Argos succeeded didn't he?"
    "Yes he did, he killed all the Elders, but he never was able to manage to bring back the dragons. You see bringing back souls from the dead is pretty complicated stuff."
    "Argos has brought one back..."
    "Your kidding right?!" He asked me.
    "I wouldn't lie about something this serious plus if I was lieing I would definently not be here that's for sure." I answered him.
    "Well if what you're telling me is correct there is no way of killing Argos or the Dragon, especially considering the fact we Elders were the only ones who knew how to kill them."
    "Don't you know how to?"
    "I do but I must be flesh not spirit, I have to be flesh in order to help you kill him."
    "Well there is an Elder that survived."
    "Seriously?! Who?!"
    "I don't know he didn't say his name."
    "Wait I have an idea." He said as he walked towards me.

    He put his hand on my head, it was cold. The ghost closed its eyes and I felt started feeling really weird. The ghost took his hand off and opened its eyes.

    "Skelm!" He said shockingly.

    CHAPTER 11:

    "Wait the guy I met, his name is Skelm?"
    "Yes, he was the leader of the Elders, the one who started it."
    "Oh wow really?! Well he told me, before I left to come here, he forgot how to kill the dragons."
    "How could he have forgotten...He's our leader..." The ghost said as he paced back and forth.
    "Wait I have an idea, tell him Orjia Sku Forlorgy. That might jog his memory."
    "And if that doesn't work?" I asked.
    "Then there might not be any way to defeated Argos and the dragon."

    We continued to press forward through the cave. I was hearing myself walk through water. I looked down and there was at least an inch of water on the ground. Still going further in the cave we reached a small
    circular room filled with water filled up to where my feet were at. The room, above the water, went up 20 feet higher. The ghost looked at me for a second and slowly turned into a blue spirited orb, floating there in front
    of me. The orb floated above the water right in the center of the room, the orb went shooting down into the water and leaving barely any light left. The only light I could see was from at the top of the cave where the
    light passed through a cage. I turned around looking for another pathway but I saw nothing. I looked back at the water, and looked into it to see how deep it was. I decided the only way to go forward is to go down
    and swim in this water. I took a few steps back, ran, and dived into the water. I'm glad I am a good swimmer and can hold me breath for a decent amount of time. Swimming down I searched for a pathway of
    some sort, and finally found one. I swam back up to catch my breath and dived back down and into the pathway I found. Slowly losing my breath I swam as fast as I could opening my eyes slightly so I can see somewhat.
    I hand my hand up looking for air pockets, but couldn't find one. Trying to stay calm I still held my breath, and finally I found an air pocket. Gasping for air I poked my head up as much as I could but only my face
    wasn't in the water. Taking another deap breath I went into the water again and ventured further down the water cave. I could hear echoing of some noise and as I did I went falling down a waterfall.It was like a
    tube but in a cave with stalagmites. I yelled on the way down. Weardly saying the rock beneath me was smooth so it didn't cut me much. I figured it was from the water constantly rushing through this part of the
    tunnel smoothing it out. Water rushed through my face and in my mouth, which made me gag and cough out water. There was many twists and turns and I felt as if I was going down about 50 miles per hour.
    Before I knew it I shot out of the cave and went 50 feet in the air and landed in a lake. The water was extremely cold and I was in slight state of shock because my motor skills were slowly shutting down.
    Quickly loooking for a place to get out of the water I began swimming around. The cave was extremely dark so it was to find anything in here. Finally I managed to feel land on my feet assumming it was a
    small island in the lake. I climbed out of the water and sat curled up in a ball trying to warm myself up. I just sat there shivering slowly getting out of my state of shock, luckily the cave was somewhat warm
    so it could warm me up faster. I heard of bones rattling nearby, I unshiethed my sword preparing to have to fight.

    "Hello?!" I yelled out as I stood up still shivering.

    There was no response just rattling still in the distance. An arrows came flying at me I barely had time to dodge it since the darkness hid the arrow. I fell to the ground, then stood back up and walking towards where
    the arrow had come. There was a skeleton standing there with a bow drawn, So I went and knocked its head off. I was shocked at what I saw next, there was hundreds of skeletons in a group just sitting there.
    Many had bows and some had swords, but mostly just bows. I attempted to sneak my way around the skeletons hoping they wouldn't see me. I managed to get by them and I saw another entrance to a tunnel. I followed
    it and I found myself in another large cave this one much bigger and much wider, also it had more light just enough to see. When I looked around there was small chunks of land supported by a rock pillar
    above a huge cliff. I decided the only way to get across was to jump from rock to rock. So I took a few steps back, crossed my fingers, ran, and jumped to the first rock. I landed and got down on one
    knee to secure my balance.

    "One down, 50 more to go..." I said under my breath.

    I stood at the edge from the side I had jumped from and ran and jumped to the next one. I landed easily it wasn't as far as the previous one. I did this a few more times and eventually I reached about half way there.
    I ran and jumped to the next one, my foot caught the edge and the pillar broke free on the opposite side from where I was near the bottom and began falling forward. Not knowing what to do I stood up on to the rock
    and in a way surfed. I was yelling as the pillar hit another, and the force of the impact knocked me on to the next pillar nearly throwing me down into the cliff. I grabbed the rock and my body was dangling off the side.
    I tried to remain calm, because I knew if I panicked I'de surely die. The pillar was falling, I scrambled my way to the other side and ,in the few seconds I had, was figuring out where I needed to go next. I had to jump,
    and so would you know it, I jumped to the next pillar praying I would make it. I landed hard on my stomach and knocked the breath out of me. The pillar I was just on fell down off to the right missing the pillar I was on.
    I flipped onto my back with my feet dangling and was gasping for air. I regained my air, and stood up looking around. To my surprise I was only three jumps from being on the other side, and so I crossed over. I turned
    around and looked at the feat I had just accomplished but at the same time nearly took my life. A bright light appeared before me and I turned and covered my eyes. I was squinting attempting to look into the light
    to see what it was.

    "Arev Sven Xanfar!" A loud deep voice called out.
    "Yes?!" I asked.
    "You have completed the trial of skill!" It yelled out to me.
    "I am the god of time I am the one who created time itself, the past the present even the future. I know everything that has happened from the beggining and what will come. I havn't seen many people make it thus far
    of our trials but you have completed my trial I had created for you!" It continued.
    "Well if you know what the future can you tell me what will happen?!"
    "No! That would ruin the purpose of my being, if I told you it would destory time itself and your purpose here will be for nothing!" The god yelled out angrily towards me.
    "I'm sorry, well since you can't tell me what must I do next?"
    "That is for you to find out on your own, I musn't tell you anything until you have reached us. If you manage to do so I will answer your questions, only those worthy shall know our knowledge and thus far you have
    not earned that right. Until then I await your arrival, fairwell Arev!" The god said as the light faded away.

    So many things were running through my mind. How am I going to kill Argos and the dragon? What will the gods tell me? What lies ahead of me? Was Selen and Carrie safe? I had no idea as to answering those
    questions all I knew was to press forward and complete the next trial. So I continued on. I remembered I had torches in my bag, so I took it off and reached in and grabbed a torch. This was plenty light for me since
    before I could hardly see anything. I walked around and found a staircase and cautously went down figuring there could possibly be a trap. Nothing was triggered as I reached the bottom of the staircase. I saw multiple
    pathways one to my left, two to my right, and two in front of me.

    "Like my mom used to say always go to the middle." I said to myself.

    So I went to the right tunnel that was in front of me and continued down it. There were many turns and many different pathways. Lets see the order I went was left, right, right, the middle one of three, and right again.
    I'm not much a left pathway person as you can see. I started seeing spirits of people, little kids families come and go throughout the pathway. I figured I'de be going the correct way now. I saw mothers lifted thier children
    into the air having a good time. It made me smile almost forgetting my reasons for being in here in the first place. Walking some more the spirits began to get more violent, I could see men charging women, men, children
    killing them. Their aura turned from blue to red as this happened I wasn't enjoying these things I was seeing. Anger began boiling inside of me and out of nowhere I swung my sword and the spirits. They dissappeared.
    I sat down on the ground with my back against the wall of the pathway.

    "What have I got my self into..." I whispered to myself as I sat there with my hands on my forehead.

    I was so weary from lack of sleep so I lied my head on the cold rough ground and closed my eyes falling asleep. I woke up and squinting I saw slight blueish light. The spirits were wandering about again only this time
    it kind of seemed like they were staring at me. I opened my eyes fully and sat up.

    "What do you want?" I asked the spirits.

    No response, just non-emotion stares.

    "Why are you looking at me?" I said to them.

    One pointed at my hand for reasons ill soon figure out. I looked at my right hand and it was glowing. I stuck my hand up to my face to look at it better, I didn't feel anything it was just light. The ghost put its hand down
    and once it did the light on my hand faded.

    "What was that?" I asked them.

    Like before no response, it was like their focal cords had been removed and they were no longer able to talk. It might be that once in spirit form these arn't able to talk anymore, but one had talked to me... the Elder.
    I stood all the way up but I looked at the ground getting my footing. I looked up and the spirits were gone, every one of them gone.

    CHAPTER 12:

    I looked down the pathway and in the other direction, there was nothing there. I was confused on what exactly was going on, spirits appearing and going, my hand glowing, nothing was making sense. Trying to ignore
    my thoughts I continued to press forward down the long pathway once more as I lit another torch. The pathway went in all different directions, it went down mostly but it also went left, right, and up. I approached a
    room that looked like a burial tomb. I looked around I saw the sides of the wall had dug out beds with skeletons resting on them. In the center of the room was a large stone casket. I slowly approached it and walked
    up the five steps of stairs and stood next to the stone casket. I looked at the casket and stuck my hand on it and swiped my hand across it wiping off the dirt. I saw a symbol of some sort on the part where I had wiped
    the dirt off. I got closer to see what it was, shining my torch next to it. The symbol looked like a plain circle with a infinity symbol in the inside. I placed on finger on it feeling the bumps and grooves of the symbol. I heard
    deep low moaning behind me. I quickly turned around to see a zombie standing at the entrance of the room. I unshiethed my sword and and prepared for the zombie to attack. I charged at me and I jumped out the way to
    my left. Rolling and standing back up I turned back to the zombie and stood ready once more. It ran at me again and I swung my sword at it cutting off its arm. As I did that it hit me with its other arm knocking me on my
    back. As I lay on the ground I swung my sword and hit its foot and cut it clean off. It fell on the ground and crawled to me with its only good hand. I stood up stumbling and nearly fell down again. I flipped my sword
    around in my hand so the blade faced downward, I grabbed my right hand with my left hand holding the sword in both hands. I lifted the sword and jammed it straight into the back of the zombie piercing its back,
    killing it. I pulled the sword out its back and looked at the dead zombie or more correct re-dead zombie. I saw a blue light but not from the torch that I had dropped when the zombie attacked me. I lifted my right
    hand and looked at it, it was glowing again blue and white. After a minute it faded once more.

    "What the heck is going on..." I said to myself.

    Things just wern't adding up now. I couldn't figure out why these things were happening but they were. I ignored my thoughts and looked around the room. It seemed as if there was no pathways just the room. I looked
    around and could only find dirt and dead bodies nothing else. I walked around the large stone casket again and tripped over something landing on my hands and knees slightly scrapping them. I looked at my hands and they
    were slightly red and a few scratches. I glanced at where I had tripped and found a lever, or at least thats what it looked like. Out of knowhere I heard something moving like stone rubbing together. I looked in the opposite
    direction of the entrance and found the stone moving up reavealing an pathway. I was surprised and happy knowing I'm getting that much closer to the gods themselves. I got off the ground and began walking to the pathway.
    As I walked through the pathway I found myself in another room, great... I looked around and noticed a three holes in the wall in a straight line going up on both sides of the wall and three levers on the ground. I walked
    over and pulled the middle one and I heard what sounded like darts, I quickly jumped back and saw darts shooting through the holes I had saw. I was relieved I jumped back as I did because I am more than certain
    they were poisonous darts. Thinking hard about which lever to pull I had an idea... lay down. I walked up to the levers and laid down on the ground and pulled the right lever. More darts shot again, luckily since I was
    laying down none of the darts hit me. I pushed the left lever and a door in front of my opened. I stood up after the darts were done shooting and began walking more. The pathway was much larger then the others. The
    pathway reached a few flight of stairs.

    "You've got to be kidding me..." I mummbled to myself as I looked up the stairs.

    So I began walking up the stairs. I got past the first flight of stairs and didn't notice the string I went by with my foot that triggered a trap. I heard a loud bang and I looked up. There was a huge boulder coming straight for
    me. I looked frantically for a place to hide but in between me and the rock I found a small slit I could try and hide at. Making a quick decision I ran as fast as I could towards the slit. Nearly there the boulder was just right
    there about to smash into me. I dived rolled where the slit was and stood up really fast and the boulder just barely missed me by mere inches. I sighed of relief escaping death once again. The boulder rolled down blocking
    my escape route out of this massive cave I am in. So I continued to go further up the stairs hoping at the top will be the gods I ever so eagerly wish to approach. I remembered about the last trial I still havn't completed so
    clearly the gods won't be at the top of the stairs. It was a very slow process because my legs were begginning to hurt from walking up the stairs for so long but I managed to make it to the top of the stairs. I continued
    down an even bigger pathway but this one was about 30 feet tall. I got to the end and found a huge room and at the end is a flight of stairs and the TEMPLE! At the top the temple, I figured this trial will be super easy it's
    completely empty in here. I walked down the stairs to the rock bottom flooring and I began thinking, this is way to simple theres definently a catch here. Out of knowhere I saw a silhouette of a person, a women to be exact.
    I slowly walked to me and I was shocked at what I saw. Selen was standing just yards in front of me.

    "Selen? Is that you?" I asked curiosly.
    "Yeah it's me." She relpied
    "What... how did you get here, that's impossible."
    "I came to get you."
    "Get me? What are you talking about?" I said as my suspitions grew.
    "I came to get you out of this cave, back home where we belong."
    "Why I need to stop the Dragon and Argos you know this already!" I said as anger began to come into my voice.
    "Come on forget about them lets go and live by ourselves forget about this dragon they won't bother us if they don't know where we are. That is what you wanted right?" Selen started to say as she circled me
    rubbing my arms, then across my chest, and across my back.
    "I do want that but you know we can't do that the world is depending on me... on us to stop them!"
    "You have to come with me or else!" She said furiosly as her face started showing great anger now.
    "No I won't go I have to stop them!" I yelled back at her.

    Then out of nowhere Selen started having red and black smoke surround her, and her body turned as black as night. Her eyes turned the shade of red and wings shot out of her back. Before I knew it she formed into
    a dragon about 30 feet tall and 20 feet wide. It had rows of teeth sharpened down to the tip and its body was still black with red eyes, and the black and red smoke still hovered around it. The dragon gave a load roar
    revealing its large mouth where I could see it begginning to cast flames. I fell to the ground then it blew fire at me from its mouth, I yelled but nothing happened. I could see the fire except it wasn't burning me. I stood up
    and stared straight into the dragons red eyes and walked forward not unshiething my weapon. I walked right through the dragon, and it morphed back to Selen, normal looking this time. She stood in front of me trying to
    push me back.

    "No! You can't go! Come back with me! We can live together forever isn't that what you wanted!" She yelled at me still trying to push me back.
    "Yes. Just not with you." I answered her.

    As I said that you could see the sadness in her face as she stared into my eyes. I could tell right there that crushed her world into pieces but I didn't care because I knew she wasn't the Selen I love and never will be.

    "You arn't Selen, you are not the one I love!" I said to her
    "Yes I am! You have to believe me!" She yelled one final time.
    "No you are not you are not Selen and you never will be! I will never love you because you are not her! If you were, you wouldn't be trying to stop me like you are now!"

    When I yelled that final time she began screaming profane words and screaming in between and she cuffed her ears while sitting on her knees. I stopped and watched her as she freaked out. Black and red smoke
    smothered her and she began to vanish still screaming bloody murder. Before you know it she was gone, the fake Selen was gone. I dropped to my knees and rested my left hand on the ground and my right hand on my
    forehead. I felt a sharp pain in my head and I started yelling out in pain. Since I had my eyes closed within those few seconds I opened them and found my hand glowing again like it had twice before, this time much
    brighter. Balls or white and blue light circled around my hand. I didn't know what to think of it so I stood up and the pain in my head had gone and so did the light on my hand. Out of knowhere another bright light
    appeared before me.

    "Arev Sven Xanfar!"
    "Yes god of Ghastrasmos?" I asked it.
    "You have completed the trial of courage!" It said to me.
    "I am the God of Life, I control everything that lives. I bring to life every man and women, winged beasts and fish all life that exists. I decide who lives and who dies and when!" It said as it paused for a moment.
    "You have managed to face your fears, avoiding near death from the boulder, standing up to Selen as she attempted to take you away from us, walking into the dragon. You have been most amusing to watch and I
    congratulate you on your efforts, you have done well Arev!" It continued again.
    "Thank you, now I can finally face you in person then?" I asked.
    "Yes that you can you will find us at the many flights of stairs at the top rests the Temple of Ghastramos. Once there you may ask any question you wish and we shall gladly answer them... champion!" It said to me.
    "We shall await your arrival!" It said as the light vanished.

    I grew extremely happy since I had just completed the trials made by gods themselves. And so I started my journey up the stairs.

    CHAPTER 13:

    I still was working my way up the stairs and out of nowhere I had a massive headache that sent me on one knee as I held my head. My eyes opened wide and I began seeing a blurry vision. I saw my past it started with
    Selen, Rex, and I talking where Rex had scared me that day. Then next thing I saw was the dragon raid and me saying goodbye to Selen when I thought I might never see her again. I began seeing me waking up talking
    to James for the first time then me at the Council building dicussing with the Council of the city. Now I was seeing me at the church talking with Carrie then the unexspected attack from the bandits and the coward that
    ran off. Then I saw me leaving the Corthain and Reg nearly dieing at the bridge. My vision then showed me finding Selen again and getting James to the doctor. The vision skipped ahead to me fighting the minotaur thing
    and the other creature on the mountain. The last thing I saw in my vision was the trials I had completed, and something that hadn't happened. By this time the vision got even blurrier but I could tell one of the people was
    James by the way he has his hair and the build of his body. It looked like he was fighting but I couldn't see who or where at and that's when I could see reality. I was confused, because I couldn't make out that last event
    that happened in my vision. I attempted to make sense of it but couldn't find any good logic as to what it might have been. I continued to temple.

    I was on my last flight of stairs finally nearing the end of my journey and on the way to learn my fate and find out what I must do to kill Argos and the dragon. Before I knew it an arrow cut through the air right next to me
    ricochet'ing off the cement stairs and falling a few steps down. I turned to see what it was, and I saw him it was Argos! Out of adrenaline I stood up as fast as I could and ran up the stairs. Suprisingly I didn't get that black
    out feeling where you can't see anything and you get all lop-sided. I took a quick glance at everything following me and there had to been at least 20 or so Draconics not including Argos who led the pack. The temple stood
    before me, it was brilliantly made with the intricate drawings on the walls that stood 50 feet high at least, probably even more. Also the giant pillars created like a cog with 30 teeth all around it, the roof of the temple was
    just a giant triangle shape with an box extension to it making a much larger building. I quickly ran up the pathway and onto the last flight of stairs. The gigantic doors were extremely heavy as I attempted to push them open
    but since I was still running on adrenaline I actually managed to get it ajar just enough to squeeze myself through and close the doors behind me. I turned around facing the door and backed up watching hoping they wouldn't
    open it. I was panting hard and sweating and my adrenaline was wearing down. The room I was in was huge with more crafted walls and the floor at my feet had paintings of war on it. Above me on the ceiling was
    paintings of the gods and the dragon. I heard banging on the door and I began to get worried as this might be my final standoff. I saw a light on the wall and I turned around to see a huge ball of light swing by me and hit the
    door. Super bright light filled the cracks in the door and before I knew it the door wasn't a door no more, it was a wall of white stone. The gods must have done this so I can complete my task that fate had brought to me.
    After that all I could think of was how in the world would they know I was here? We didn't make it super obvious that we were heading this way. I sighed of relief thinking all was good now for the time being, and I began
    looking around the room remembering where to go if I got lost in here. I looked up the stairs that were to my left with the balcony at the top of the stairs and saw the symbol I did earlier in the day. The circle with an infinity
    sign in the inside glowing bright green. I assumed this was a sign from the gods that they want me to head that way so I did.

    I made my way up to the top of the stairs and began to follow a pathway that I assumed was where I was intended to go. The hallway was lit with torches attached to the wall so the hallway was well seen. I made it to the end of
    the hallway and it split into two paths one to my right and one to my left. I looked down the righthallway and saw the symbol above the hallway before so I walked down there. As I reached the end of the hallway I found myself
    in a massive room with three floating white ghost-like things just hovering above three different pedestals. I figured this must be the gods, the ones I have been seeking all this time. I walked across a stone bridge that stopped
    halfway across a deep crevice that was in the room. The end of the bridge was fenced off so there was slight chances of falling. My thoughts were racing with excitement and anxiety as I stood below the gods, I wasn't sure at all
    what to expect or what they might say only that I have earned their trust. I stood for about a minute until they realized I was there. The god in the middle looked up and stared straight into my eyes with no emotion at all.
    Then he said

    "Well Arev Sven Xanfar... you have finally made it, you have endured the destruction of your town, lose of your female companion, the death of a dear friend, as well as our challanges of which you have completed. You have proven
    your worth to us and to that I congratulate you. You have had a dangerous adventure that shall be rewarded but not as of this moment." The god in the middle said. Then the god on the right began to talk,
    "Before we reward you let us clarify a few things to you. Before all this began we gods summoned a dragon as a protector for the land, and that was it's sole purpose. After time people abused the dragons power a slowly more dragons
    began to form taking on its own responsibilities, doing what it so chose to do. Soon the dragons began to destroy everything, towns, forests, and even killing people. Until one day a man by the name of Nogard Carn formed a group
    of dragon slayers called the Carn Isle Elders. These Elders slowly began killing off dragons one by one day in and day out until that unfaithful day. One of the dragons that was formed became human-like and grew its own thoughts
    and spoke our language. As you know his name is Argos Korvain, he was the one who started the creation of Draconics. So after Argos was created he mass produced Draconics and soon afterwards the Carn Isle Elders not only had to fight off
    dragons but as well as Draconics. The Elders were getting overwhelmed by the fighting that some fled and was never herd from again. Some still fought trying to regain control over the dragon to keep balance in the world but during
    a war between the dragons and Draconics against the Elders, Argos in mid battle cast a spell in which all the dragons, Draconics and Elders all turned to stone. His intentions were to protect his kind and to kill off the elders at
    the same time. After long years from this battle it seemed as if the world was finally at peace. Until just a few years ago when Argos was resurrected from his stone self. Some travelers happened to find the resting place of the great
    battle since these travelers happened to know a few spells, they unbounded the spell in which Argos casted. So once he was resurrected from the stone he killed those travelers and resurrected the only dragon he could find which was
    the one that had attacked your village at Elbaf as long with the countless others that were destroyed. But without the Elders there isn't much hope into saving your world which is why we changed your fate and brought you to us. We saw
    what you have been through we have felt your pain and we hope to destroy what we have created but we couldn't do it without your help. You see we can't leave this temple it is a barrier in which we can't pass, if we choose to leave
    we will become mortal and banished to the sacred realm."
    "So you mean to say this whole thing is all your fault?"
    "No. That is not what we are saying. We created the dragon to help keep peace among the land. We gave the dragon powers so it could do that but people abused it. We are not to blame it was your race that had did this to your world
    not us." Said the god on the left.
    "Well what do I do now? I can't kill a dragon on my own."
    "which is why we had you come to us, we have the thing that will allow you to kill the dragon."
    "What it is?! I want to save my world!"
    "We have crafted the most indestructible sword known to man. It's blade is as black as night! It's handle stronger then diamond!" The god in the middle said.
    "The Sword made of bedrock, the sword of a god!" The god in the middle said as a black sword came floating down next to me. I grabbed its handle and pinched the blade end with my fingers and ran them up and down the blade. It was
    as light as clay and so sharp it could cut through anything.
    "Wow..." I said in amazement.
    "You know how your hand has been glowing?" The god on the right said.
    "Yeah why does it keep doing that?"
    It does that because you are the only person worthy of weilding such a blade. You have powers beyond your imagination, you just haven't discovered them yet." The god on the right said. As it said that the blade, as well as my hand, began
    to glow bright white making me squint my eyes. Then the room turned bright and all I saw was white, then it faded back to original.
    "What was that?" I asked.
    "That was you and your sword bonding as one." Said the god in the middle."
    "What do I do from here?" I asked them.
    "You must save the world..." They all said to me as I lost conciousness. I woke up at the bottom of the mountain, standing up slowly with the blade in my hand. I saw Selen and Carrie in the distance so I walked to them. They were conforting
    each other from how much had been going on. I walked slowly to them and they heard my footsteps and instantly turned to my direction. Jumping up with excitement they both gave me a hug and Selen kissed me as I so had missed these past
    few days. Selen and Carrie both let go of me and sighed of relief.
    "So did you find them?!" Said Carrie anxouisly awaiting an answer.
    "Yeah I did, I found them." I answered her.
    "And?" Said Selen.
    "And they gave me this sword. It's made of 100 percent bedrock and only I can use it. They told me it is the only thing that can kill this dragon." I answered Selen. They both looked at the sword amazed by its beauty of fine craftmanship
    it must have took to make this.
    "Well what happens now?" Selen asked.
    "Now we kill the dragons."

    posted a message on A Day In Ruins [chapter 12 is released! One chapter until book one is done!]
    I have decided to re-post my story since I have gotten further into it so here it is hope I have decided to re-post my story since I have gotten further into it so here it is hope you guys like it, I'm going to change what I say here so I'd like constructive criticism. This is my first story so I am sorry if my grammar isn't up to par...enjoy the story, I have made a few minor changes to the story

    CHAPTER 1:

    My name is Arev Xanfar I live in the town we call Elbaf which got its name from the mayor of the town Elbaf Sudich II,who was named after his father. I've grown up here a good portion of my life,
    I lived here since I was very young and I was one of the first people to help build this town. Many years have past since we started building our town and I've had loads of experiences but nothing special,
    mainly I'm a soldier here in Elbaf. I do my best to help protect the people around here from monsters. We are pretty self reliant with our protection of our town, so we can fend for ourselves pretty well.
    We built the town in a boxed formation with guard posts in every corner, and walls 15 feet high and 6 feet deep of stone, surrounding the town for great protection. Elbaf is located far into the
    woods so we get lots of monsters that tend to want to venture near our town.

    I was in my home that I had built from scratch, it has walls made of wooden planks, flooring made of red wool, my bed, and a table, nothing special but its comforting. I woke up on a sunny day,
    where the skies were clear, an occasional cloud or two and that nice summer breeze you get that just makes it that much better. I got up and naturally just put on my iron armour, since I get guard duty
    everyday. While leaving my home, I was greeted by my best friend Selen. She was here from the get-go just as I was, she and I became friends back into building the town. Selen has the most
    perfect blonde hair you'll see and bright, blue eyes that are the color of fresh spring water. The supple curvature of her hips and bosom accentuates the femininity of her strong body. Selen is also a guard just as I am, and Elbaf put us at the same post and thats where our friendship really took off.

    "Arev! Well arn't you looking handsome in that shiny iron armour of yours!"

    That usually seems to be Selens occasional greeting.

    "Thanks, your not looking to bad yourself."
    "Shall we start our day of duty?"

    I nodded in agreement and we headed out, greeting the local villagers on our way through the town. Our guard post is located near the mine, where most of the protection is needed since most monsters
    are located there. We soon approached the woods and was on our way to the mine. I felt a slight presense as we were walking. The noise seemed to be coming from either above us or by one of the nearby trees.

    "Do you hear something Selen?
    "No, I dont, why?"
    "Sounded like footsteps near the trees."

    Then a man jumped down from a tree, I reconized who it was as he landed, but he still startled me since I was already a bit jumpy.

    "Bam, your dead Arev!" Said Rex jokingly as he had his sword pointing at me, he is our local veteran also our towns blacksmith, he makes all our armour for our guards. He was here since before most
    of the villagers in our town. He's old but can still put up a hell of a good fight. He's more of a bigger man then most despite his age, and he likes to grow out a long beard,
    and keep his hair on top bald (I dont know why, or how).

    "You about gave me a heart attack Rex! besides it's your day off today why are you out here?"
    "Making sure your not up to no good of course, and to make you **** yourself a little!" Rex said jokingly. Selen then joined in the conversation and said,
    "Hey Rex, havn't seen you around in some time now." Rex answered
    "Well I've been a bit busy lately but I decided I would drop by and say hello." Then I quickly interupted
    "What a great way of saying it...."

    In the middle of us talking we heard a distinct loud noise coming from the nearby mine. Assuming something had happened we all decided to investigate.

    "What the hell was that?" I said shockingly as we ran to the noise.
    "Couldn't tell yeah, but it sounded as if maybe someone blew up something." Answered Selen.

    We still ran to the mine, and after about ten minutes we were there. We didn't see anything out of ordinary so we all agreed to check out in inside of the mine itself to find any clues
    as to where the noise may have came from.

    "Hello?! Is anyone here hurt?!" shouted Selen as we searched the mine

    Further down the mine we heard a man yell

    "Yeah were fine, just used a little to much TNT I suppose, if you could hear it from town, sorry about that!"
    "Alright it's fine just as long as no one is injured!" I said as we started walking out the mine.

    Me, Selen and Rex headed to town and Rex went to his blacksmithing shop while Selen and I went to our guard post. Nothing happened that following day and soon the day turned to night,
    and me and Selen started taking our night shift. We set up a few torches that had burn't out so we could see into the darkness that lied nearby.

    "Hey I've been wondering..." said Selen as we lay against the wall at our guard post.
    "Yeah? What's that?"
    "How come you and me never leave town and see what's out there?"
    "I don't know never really thought of leaving, why the sudden curiosity?
    "I just never left town we've been stuck here for 18 years and never left town once while we've lived here."
    "Well, maybe someday we will leave, just you and me, and we'll see the world."
    "That sounds great, I really can't wait." She said while smiling at me, I smiled back.

    In my thoughts all I was really thinking about was how our lives would be together, also how much I wanted to hold her in my arms and kiss her. I liked her for some time now but I never had the guts
    to show it since I was extremely shy. I could tell Selen has the same feelings as I did, but I could tell she is just as shy as I am even though we try and hide it.

    "It's getting late." I said while yawning at the same time,
    "Yeah, we should probaly head back now." Selen said as she started falling asleep on my lap.

    I just laid there and watched Selen sleep under the stars. I then started drifting into a deep sleep and before I knew it I was lost in my dreams.

    CHAPTER 2:

    I woke up the next morning still at my guard post from the previous night. The sun grew bright as it blinded me as I opened my eyes. I looked down to see Selen still asleep in my lap, I just stayed there and
    put my hand on her shoulder and watched nature. After about an hour Selen soon started to wake up and I greeted her as she did.

    "Hey Selen, sleep well?"
    "Hmm....Uh yeah.. how about you.." she said while yawning.
    "I slept well." I answered back.

    We both finally gained the energy to get up, and so we did. As we got up though in the distance we saw a man running towards us. My curiosity soon grew and he got nearer and nearer to us.
    The man that had been running stopped a few feet in front of me panting extremely heavely, but it didn't seem to be because of the running. I knew in his mind he was scared to death, you could see it
    in his face and in his eyes.

    "THERE COMING!!!" He yelled, trying to catch his breath
    "Who's coming?" I said, nervously
    "The...the oh my...please you got to stop them!! They.. they killed them, every one of them!" The man said while grasping my armour and yelling,

    I grab his hands and took them off my armour. I put my hands on his shoulders and asked him,

    "Calm down! Who is coming? Who killed who?"

    He slowly started calming down, but he still breathed heavy, and answered

    "These monsters I've never seem them before, there like dragons except they walk and they're about our size, but they are so barbaric so much killing so much dying."
    "What? I've never heard of these things before, what exactly did they do?" I said curiosly
    "They murdered them, every last one, it was horrible... they cut the heads off the locals and stuck them on stakes in the ground. They also destroyed my town every single thing there is gone left in ruins."

    I glanced at Selen, she had her hands covering her mouth and I could see tears rolling down her cheek. I looked back at the man he seemed to be getting more frantic talking about the incident.

    "You should come with me..." I said to the man

    I walked over and wrapped my arms around Selen trying to confort her. Then I told her,

    "Everything is going to be fine, I promise, we'll go to the mayor and tell him, we'll be prepared for the attack"

    She nodded her head and we walked through the town seeking the mayor. I quickly forgot about my shyness and for the first time I held Selens hand, trying to confort her. Her hands were smooth against mine
    as we interlocked fingers. We quickly sped through town ingnoring the towns folk trying to reach the mayor. Once we finally reached the town hall, we went straight to Elbaf.

    "Excuse me, mayor, we just found this man he's been giving us in full details of an pillage on his town just recently and we figured we should bring him to you immediatly."
    "What happened may I ask?" Asked Elbaf.

    So we explained the whole story, and the man that had informed us told him a few extra details he left out that we had heard the first time. Elbaf was in a lose of words after hearing this story.

    "We need to be ready, if there is this threat, we can't settle it lightly we must be prepared for the attack. I want you to gather everyone and have them meet me in town square I have something I
    would like to announce to the town, this includes guards."
    "Understood" I replied

    We directed the man to a chair and Selen and I left to gather the towns folk. We went to each and every house, road, guard post, everywhere and there was a big crowd in the town center.
    Selen and I ran back to the town square and rushed our way to the mayor. We then got on the stage that the mayor was standing on and we got a few feet behind where he was. Everyone was
    talking amongst themselves trying to figure out why the mayor had brought them all here.

    "Silence everyone please, I have important news!" Said the mayor.

    Everyone got quiet and the mayor began to start talking again.

    "So I have recently been told that there has been an attack on a village just a few days ago. As we believe it the monster that has been attacking this village is called Draconics.
    They are not to be taken lightly. As I've been told these dragon-like monsters have an extremely barbaric nature. I need the best and bravest soldiers to help fight off these Draconics. Anyone and
    everyone may join the fight the more we have the better chance we'll have at protecting our town! We shall be fighting for our lives and the lives of others, because they won't stop at us they'll
    move on, and we won't let that happen! So if you want to fight for us, please I ask you... step forward..."

    Everyone was quiet for a minute and one man took a step on the stage. Then another, and another and soon the entire stage was filled.

    "Now, if you'll take your attention to Arev behind you all. He will be in charge of training all you and preparing you for the fight of your life." Said the mayor

    Everyone looked at me, I started getting nervous because I didn't know he would assign me to such a high standard assignment.

    "As most of you might know, Arev here has been trained in combat for many years now, I trust him to teach you all everything he knows. As well as another person highly trained in combat that I have
    assigned to ease to tension of this stressful task is Selen! She to has had lots of combat experience which is why I have assigned her this job!"

    I could tell she was nervous as I was but she seemed happy as well sense we would be doing this together. I had my hand to my side and so I reached my hand out and held Selens hand.
    Everyone started clapping and cheering as we stood there frantic thinking about how this would all turn out. So everyone left and Selen and I went to her house and stood outside the door.
    We looked at each other for a moment and then I opened my arms and wrapped them around Selen, she did the same.

    "This is a lot to take in, in so little time isn't it?" I asked Selen as we hugged.
    "Yeah, I can't believe this is happening all of a sudden."
    "I'm sure everything will be fine, we just need to be ready for when it comes."

    We stopped hugging and I told her good night and she walked into her house. So I headed home, with everything floating in my mind that I couldnt stop thinking about. I reached my home, and went inside.
    I walked to my bed and laid down, I looked up at the ceiling thinking. I couldn't sleep for hours, and finally I managed to fall into a deep sleep.

    CHAPTER 3:

    I walked outside the next day wearing my armour as usual and the thing I feared most had happened right in front of my own eyes. The town I once loved had been destroyed.
    People lay there on the ground...dead... as dead could be. It was a horrific sight to see, I saw all my friends, enemys, neighbors, I even saw children laying dead on the cold ground.
    I began to walk around to see what had been done. The burned down houses, buildings caved in, buildings on top of one another... ashes. At the corner of my eye I saw something move.
    I turned to see what it was and it looked like a person. I slowly began walking slowly near it, taking out my sword just to be safe. As I got closer this thing had spotted me, it looked at me
    as if it was staring into my soul. It started to crawl towards me I began to feel beads of sweat stream down my face. This thing that had crawled to me stood up, it stood 8 feet above the ground it had long
    hair, these long sharp claws, it looked extremely skinny as if it hadn't ate in weeks. In my mind my first thought was to kill this thing because I had no idea what it would. So I went to attack it and it blocked
    it with its forearm and stabbed its claws in my stomach, then slashed my face. The monster then lifted me up and I hung there helplessy bleeding heavely. The creature then started opening its mouth
    and it opened extremely big, and tried to eat me.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I woke up screaming and panting heavely, I searched my face and my stomach for scratches.I sighed of relief. So I got up and put on my armour and walked outside quickly forgetting about my nightmare.
    As I walked outside I saw something I never saw before. Practically every person in town was training and practicing in shooting bows and training in swordsman skills. They all trained on homemade targets,
    this was certaintly a sight I was waiting to see for a long time, people training to help protect the city, nothing can compare to this. Selen was standing only a few feet away from where I was, we began to
    walk towards the training grounds.
    "Wow what a sight!" I said to Selen as we headed to the training grounds.
    "Yeah, definently something I thought I would never see."
    We continued walking to the grounds, until we were finally there. When we got there, there was around 30-50 people standing around waiting for Selen and I. I couldn't help it but a big grin came
    across my face. In my head I was so amazed on our turnout and all I could think was "WOW!".
    "So what would you like us to do first today sir?!" Yelled a man who was standing in the front of the crowd.
    "Uh... well first... I guess... teach you how uhm use a sword?" I said while studdering.
    "Alright well everyone find a target dummy, and stand near it."
    Everyone started scrambling around trying to find a dummy. Then everyone found one and waited for my next order.
    "Uh so, I want you all to all to pretend this is an actual enemy, and fight it how you would in actual combat."
    They all did as I ordered, I walked around seeing how everyone fought in combat. Some had some poor fighting style so I helped those who all needed it. An hour had passed and everyone still was training. I turned
    to see Selen helping someone, I watched. She turned and looked where I was at and she smiled at me, I smiled back. I couldn't help but to just watch Selen, the way the sun shines in her perfect blonde hair.
    It makes her look so beautiful. Since I was in fact training people I had to try and focus my attention to those in need. The sun soon began to set and everyone was heading home, I felt accomplished today
    as I saw everyone walk away. Soon it was just me and Selen standing there at the training grounds alone.
    "Hey Selen, I wanna show you something!" I said, as I broke the silence between us.
    I quickly ran to Selen and held her hand, and we began to run through the town and into the woods but the opposite direction of the mine. As we ran we approached a big lake and sitting by it was an enormous
    rock. Selen and I climbed up on top of it and we both sat there with our feet dangling above the lake.
    "Wow! This is... beautiful!" Said Selen as she watched the sunset and the sunset reflecting upon the lake.
    "Yeah, I used to come here every night after my mom passed away 10 years ago. It always made me feel... calm and relaxed it helped me stop thinking about everything and just
    focus on nature. It really set my mind at ease"
    "I'm glad you brought me here, and I'm also sorry about your mom."
    "It's fine, but I'm glad your enjoying the view."
    We sat there for a little bit both being very quiet just watching the sun set over the mountains. This was an amazing view, seeing the sky light up in the distance with orange and purple, it made this day
    so much more perfect, especially being here with Selen. I watched Selen as she had that enjoyment in her face, she turned to me. I began to lean in slowly, she did the same. Before we knew it our lips met each others
    and we began to kiss for quiet some time. The kiss ended and we both looked into each others eyes, smiling.
    "You know I never told you this but, you have the most beautiful eyes in world." Selen began to blush, but that to me, made her look even more beautiful.
    "Thank you... You know?" She said to me
    "You are the most amazing guy I've ever met in my life."
    I leaned in and kissed her again as passionatly as we did before.
    "Your the most amazing girl I've ever met in my life." I whispered to her as I hugged her.
    The sun had set so Selen and I got off the rock and headed to town. Before we reached town what seemed to be a bandit was running towards us. As I suspected it was, he pulled out a sword and so did I.
    He swung at me but I jumped back. I told Selen to back up, because I didn't want anything to happen to her. So I took my sword and swung at him, he parried. I swung again and it sliced his arm. He began yelling
    in pain, I took another swing and cut his stomach open. He began yelling louder then before and he fell on his back in pain. I took my sword then and decapitated him, since if he managed to survive this ordeal
    he wouldn't try and kill others.
    "Are you alright Selen?" I asked her
    "Yeah, I'm fine. How about you?" She answered
    I searched myself and found a slight cut above my knee.
    "Only a flesh wound, nothing to worry about." So as we walked off Selen said
    "My knight in shining armour!" I smiled
    We finally reached town, and I walked Selen to her house. By this time it was well past midnight. I hugged her for a few minutes not wanting to say goodbye. I leaned in and kissed her for well over a minute.
    As we stopped we looked into each others eyes again.
    "Goodnight Selen, sleep well alright."
    "Ok, you too." She replied as she started walking into her house.
    I watched her as she finally closed her door, I went home smiling about how the day turned out to be.
    A few days past and nothing unusual had happened yet, everyone still trained preparing for the worst to come. Selen and I still helped everyone and a thought was boiling in my head, When will they come?
    So I told Selen that I'de be talking to the mayor so she took over my job for me while I was gone. I approached the town hall and worked my way to the mayor. The mayor was doing some paperwork
    at his desk.
    "Mayor? I've been thinking of something that's really important?"
    He looked up from his paperwork and quickly stood up and walked towards me.
    "Yes, what is it?"
    "Well it's been days since we heard anything about the Draconics, I'm thinking maybe we should have a few scouts so we'll be prepared ahead of time." I answered
    "Hmm, I like how you think, I shall send my five best scouts out there, thank you for advising me on this."
    "No problem..." I said while begginning to leave his office.
    A few days past.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    "I see them!"
    "Where!?"
    "Over there near the river!" said a man
    "Oh I see them!" Said the other man
    "We should advise Elbaf that they're near."

    The men began to run back to town. It took the men a few days but they finally reached town. They reached the gates, and worked their way to the town hall.

    "Mayor! The Draconics, they're close!!" The mayor looked up shocked.
    "We must inform the town, they have to know. Are we ready for battle?"
    "That we are, I'll inform Arev and have him prepare his soldiers."
    "Good, good do that I'll prepare the escape route."

    CHAPTER 4:

    "Arev! We have urgent news to inform you on!"
    "And that is...?" I replied
    "We just recently spotted Draconics not far from town!" The man answered.
    "Ok, thanks for the heads up, I'll let everyone know."

    I stood there in the training grounds not sure what to think. Selen had walked over to me after the man left.

    "What's wrong?" She asked.

    I stood there frozen for a brief second and I answered.

    "The Draconics... they've been spotted nearby."

    Selen hugged me around the neck and I hugged her waist. We hugged for a brief moment and Selen began to whisper to me.

    "I'm so scared on what might happen, but now we should probably inform the town so they're aware."
    "I know I will, lets just stay here for a minute I want to take this all in first."
    "Alright." She said

    So after I decided that I had taken it all in, we both headed to the mayors office, both very quiet. As we walked in the mayor was talking to the man I had talked to
    only moments ago. He turned to me and and quickly said

    "Ah, you've arrived. So I'm sure you have heard the news already?"
    "Yes... yes I have." I answered
    "Well looks like it's time for your big speach then huh?"
    "I suppose so."

    As we arrived outside the town hall, there was already a huge crowd standing right in front of me. I began to get nervous, and I started to shake a little, not knowing what I was going to say.

    "How did they get here so fast?" I whispered to Selen
    "I don't know." She whispered back.
    "Well... thery're here don't keep them waiting." Said the mayor as I walked to the stage.

    As I approached the stage I began compiling all the things I was going to say. I stood there frozen as everyone in town was waiting for me to tell them something.

    "So... recent leads have uh, told us that the Draconics are not far from town..." I began to say. Everyone started whispering things to each other
    "I need all you who have trained with Selen and myself, to be brave...strong! We can't let them destroy the town we love! Not today, not tommorrow, not ever! We must make sure whenever they come we hit them hard!
    They will never want to mess with us when we're through with them!"

    Everyone started yelling and cheering as I stood there ready to start talking again.

    "My soldiers, do not be intimidated by thier looks, they're nothing compared to us, our training is nothing compared to theirs! We will drive them back to where they came from and they'll never want to leave again!
    They began cheering and yelling again. It got silent and I said.

    "I want you all to look around..."

    Everyone did as I said.

    "Some of you will not make it sadly but your death will not be in vain. You will be known as the many few who helped protect our town from this threat. So we must fight for our lives, until this threat is removed.
    We will not stop fighting until we're dead!"

    I looked to Selen and as everyone was cheering and yelling, she told me

    "Very nice." She said smiling.
    "Thanks." I said back.

    So everyone left after a half an hour of cheering and yelling, I began walking around the town to ease to tension of the upcoming events. Selen wasn't with me at this moment due to the fact I needed to think to
    myself. I avoided making conversations to the townspeople, I just gave them a "Hello, good evening" and a wave and walked right by them. I arrived at the lake where Selen and I had first kissed at and I sat on the rock
    that we were at that night. Staring at the lake I felt relaxed and the pressure just seemed to have lifted off my shoulders for the first time since I was here with Selen. I could tell Selen was standing behind me at
    the edge of the woods watching me, but I pretended not to notice.

    "Hey, you alright?" Selen yelled to me.
    "Yeah, just thinking!" I answered
    "Ok, well I'm going back to town see you in a bit?"
    "Yeah, I'll be back in a few hours or so."

    Selen left and I sat there watching the lake again. The sky looked amazing how it reflected off the smooth as glass lake. Two hours past and I decided to head back to town. Nothing out of the ordinary happened
    on my walk. I exspected a bandit or two... but nothing this time. I arrived to town and one of the townspeople stopped me for a brief second to tell me something.

    "Elbaf, has ordered a feast in your honor. It will be held in the city center and Elbaf would appreciate it if you would go."

    So I did. I saw many people talking amongst everyone else having a good time, dancing, talking, being themselves. I saw the mayor standing behind a long table talking to a group of people laughing and having a good time.
    He noticed me and motioned me over to him. I walked around the table and reached Elbaf. He shook my hand and he said.

    "Ah! I'm so glad you could make it!"
    "Wouldn't miss my own party, now would I?"
    "That you wouldn't!" The mayor answered.

    The mayor and I stopped talking and Selen came from behind me and hugged me around my waist. She had her head next to mine with her chin resting on my left shoulder.

    "Having a good time?" She asked
    "Yeah I am."

    An hour had passed and I had already talked to what seems like every town member, danced with Selen, and ate loads of food. I could tell by this time the mayor was about to say something so I waited.
    He raised a glass cup full of wine and a spoon and tapped the cup with it. The cup made a ringing noise and everyone grew silent

    "May I have your attention please?!" The mayor said to the cowd.
    "I have thrown this party not just for the leadership of Arev but of the everyone who has taken the initiative to help stop the Draconics. I know there is a lot on everyones mind but I want
    you all to just have a good time tonight you hear!? Cheers!"

    "Cheers!" Everyone said back.

    The night had passed and everyone was asleep in their beds, as was I. Staring at my ceiling I began thinking about what tommorrow may bring, which in time caused me to fall asleep. And soon it had come...

    The morning had come and everyone was frantic as the horns began to sound. All you could here was "THEY'RE HERE!" and the screams of young women and children. As for the men they stood strong
    preparing for the worst. I stood in front of the crowd of soldiers I had prepared with Selen at my side and on the other was a man Elbaf had appointed to help lead us to victory. We called him Thor. He was
    strong and cocky at the same time, but has a great sense of humor. He was about a foot taller then I and has long black hair almost covering his eyes. As we stood there Thor said to me

    "No matter what happens I'm here for you, I have your back."
    "Thanks, glad I can trust you." I said to him
    "Well there they are, you ready for one hell of a fight Arev?"
    "Yeah..." I said nervously.

    The Draconics slowly got closer and closer as soon as they were about 20 feet from where we were they stopped. It seemed like there was thousands of them when it was around a few hundred. One of the
    Draconics in the front walked about five feet closer. I assumed he was their leader. He looked more like a giant walking lizard but he had horns that curved up toward the sky and it had wings on its back.
    His armour was similiar to ours except it was much darker and it exposed the stomach more. The Draconic had scaley skin and sharp pointed teeth, and many of them.

    "Well would you look at our lovely welcome party we got here?" The Draconic said.
    "Go back now! You have more then you bargained for and I can assure that!" I said back.
    "Well you obviously can't see but our numbers are much greater than yours, you don't stand a chance against us. You should surrender now before you face death first hand!"
    "Never I'de rather die than surrender to you, you slimey scaled *******!" I said angrily back to it.

    He didn't seem to have liked what I told him. He looked at me very angrily, his eyebrows met each other at a V.

    "Well... if it's a fight you want it's a fight you'll get!"
    "Wouldn't ask for anything more!" I said back to it

    "Charge!!" I yelled at the top of my lungs.
    "RAAHHHHH!!!!" Everyone began yelling as they charged at the Draconics

    The Draconics had also charged as well. It quickly became a big blood bath as everyone was killing each other. I went in and killed three Draconics right off the bat. I felt a sharp pain in my arm, one of
    the Draconics has sliced my arm. I ignored the pain and started attacking the one that had attacked me, he parried my first strike. He attempted to attack me, I to had parried. I did a backspin and sliced the
    exposed portion of his stomach and slit his throat right after. Blood began gushing out of his throat as he fell to the ground. I saw Selen fighting a Draconic, I saw one started to run towards her. So I ran to her and
    I stuck my sword through the bottom of the chin of the Draconic and straight through its skull. I lifted it off the ground, I quickly pulled the sword out of its skull and the corpse fell to the ground.

    "Thanks!" Selen said after she had killed the Draconic she was already fighting.

    I started killing more and more, and also watched as some of my men died within seconds. This fight became the bloodiest most violent thing I've ever been apart of, but if it would help save my town it was worth it.
    Something had hit me in the back, I fell to the ground but spun around on my back so I could see. A Draconic attempted to stab me in the skull but I moved my head just in time missing me by mere inches. I stabbed my
    sword in its chest impaling its heart, he cried in agony. Quickly getting up I ran to aide Thor, who was helplessly fending off four Draconics. I ran to the first Draconic I saw which had its back turned to me and I
    stabbed my sword through its back while he had its sword in the air about to attack Thor. Thor and I went back to back to fight off the other three. One in front of Thor and one in front of me charged us and we
    yelled "duck!" and as we did the two charging Draconics both decapted themselves, leaving the last one. We had still been back to back so I ran a few feet away, turned, and ran back towards Thor. As I ran to him he
    had been bent over so I ran on his back and jumped into the air. As I flew in the air I did a long frontflip and jabbed my sword into its skull upside-down in the air, splitting it. I landed a few feet behind it with one
    knee on the ground and the other near my head.

    "Nice moves!" Thor yelled to me.
    "Thanks!" I yelled back as I stood up.
    "I need to go help Selen!" I yelled to Thor as I took off running to Selen.

    Selen was fighting off two Draconics with two daggers, one in each hand. I ran to help her and the one that had not been paying attention to me I flipped it on its back by knocking him off its feet with my sword.
    As he landed I stabbed my sword into its chest. As I did this Selen had slit the others throat. Then out of nowhere all the Draconics stopped attacking. Everyone looked around confused, then all the Draconics
    looked to the sky in the direction they all arrived at. They began screaching really loudly into the sky and in the distance we could hear as what it seemed to have been, a dragon? As the sound got closer, the sky
    darkened and in the sky was a siloutte of some massive creature. This creature landed with a loud "THUMP!" and dirt and dust flew everywhere. A large dragon appeared before us, I stared at it scared out of my mind.
    I could hear a few of my soldiers say "Oh dear god!" in fear. The dragon had very large horns and claws, it was red in color and very large wings on its back. The dragon was bigger in size then any of our houses.
    The dragon started scorching fire everywhere burning everything.

    "FALL BACK!!!" I yelled loudly.

    Everyone ran to the escape route that the mayor had built. I frantically searched for Selen. I found her and ran to her grabbing her hand and took off behind a house.

    "Selen I want you to go with the others! I'll come back for you when everything is safe!" I yelled to her
    "No! You can't you'll die, I don't want you to die, not now!" She yelled back to me.
    "You have to trust me Selen please, for the sake of our people, for our town, I have to stay!"
    "Ok... come back please I dont know what I would do without you!"
    "I will always be here for you!" I said as I kissed her goodbye.

    She ran with the other soldiers running from the dragon. Thor stood hiding behind a nearby house. So I ran to him while avoiding the dragons firebreath.

    "Arev! Why are you still here! You need to get out of here it's not safe!" Thor yelled to me
    "I know, but I need to stay it's my duty to protect the town!"
    "Right, well you ready?" He asked me
    "Yeah!"

    We ran at the dragon while fighting off Draconics on our way. The dragon turned around and curled its tail and hit me with it knocking me into the air. I flew into a nearby building that
    was on fire, losing conciousness. Everything went blank.

    CHAPTER 5:

    It was dark out. I slowly started to regain conciousness. I opened me eyes but everything appeared blurry, but I could still make out distinct features of burning buildings. I could finally see things clear after a few
    minutes. What I fought to defend was destroyed, my town I had once loved... burned to the ground. This was truly a day in ruins. It never really occured to me how much I loved my town until now, seeing it
    the way it was made me wish I had done more, but it's to late now. I slowly stood up and I felt a sharp pain in my leg as if someone had cut it off. Falling back to the ground in pain I looked at my leg and there was
    a large piece of glass sticking out of it. I tried to pull it out but it hurt to bad. Ripping off a piece of my shirt, I rolled it into a ball and stuck it in my mouth. I attempted to pull the glass out again, clentching my teeth to
    the shirt. I managed to remove the glass, taking out the shirt from my mouth I wrapped it around my leg and tied it tight to prevent more blood lose. I stood up and limped my way out of the burning building. As
    I left the building I began searching the area for any survivors. Thor laid on the ground about 20 feet from where I was, motionless. I limped my way to him as fast as I could, which in this case wasn't fast at all.
    Getting on one knee looking down at his motionless body I began to get uneasy. He was covered in blood and he had burn marks all over his body. I put my right ear on his chest and listened for a beat... Nothing.
    He was dead. I started to cry as I sat there next to his dead body. So I made the choice to leave town as fast as possible, assuming there might be more Draconics lurking about. I went to the west out of town
    and traveled for well over five hours...limping. I managed to travel a few miles which was good progress considering the fact my leg had been cut open. Finally taking a rest I found myself lost in a desert. Sand
    everywhere, not any sign of life. I lay beside a big rock on the side where the shadow was at. Dying of thirst I didn't want to think of it so I passed out within five minutes.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    "Hey Reg look over here! I think it's a man!"
    "What? Way out here, I highly doubt that." Said Reg. Reg is a bigger man who has a big brown bushy beard that comes down about a foot. In a way he kind of looks like a dwarf, except he's just as tall I am. Reg
    looked as if in his middle 30's so not to old.
    Reg walked to where James was at and saw what Reg had saw.
    "You're right, we should probably bring him to town, he'll die if we leave him here." Said James.
    They picked up the dying man and began taking him through the desert being as careful as possible to try and not injure him further. They got to the camp they had set up only hours ago.
    "Before we head to town lets stitch his leg back up so he won't lose anymore blood." Said Reg.
    "What's going on here?" Said Carrie.
    "Uh, we found this man lost in the desert so we brought him back here." Said James
    "And... he's all stitched up now put him on the camel gently and lets go back to town and fast, also wrap a damp rag around his neck so he'll cool down."
    The three of them made it to the very large town of Corthain. The walls around this circular city were 40 feet tall and 15 feet deep, made of stone. The three went straight to the city doctor. Rushing their way
    they finally made it to the doctor.
    "Sir! we need your help right away! We found this man left for dead in the desert he needs immediate attention!"
    The doctor looked up for his newspaper shocked. He tossed his newspaper on to a nearby table and rushed over to the man.
    "Ok, you leave him here with me i'll seek to it he stays alive."
    The doctor took the man into a room and wasn't seem for awhile.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    A few days went by and I slowly started to awaken. Everything blurred I looked around trying to figure out where I was at. I could tell that this was an unfamiliar place, definently not Elbaf. As I finally
    began to see clearer I looked to my right to see a man standing there, watching me.

    "Finally you're awake, you've been out for days." James said. James is a fairly buff man who sees highly in himself in everything he does. He appeared to look as if in his late 20's. He has medium lengthed
    brown hair and blue eyes. He has that face that makes him look in a way a elve, minus the pointy ears though.
    "Huh? Where am I?" I asked
    "You're in Corthain one of the biggest towns around these parts." The man answered
    "What happened? Who are you?"
    "My name is James, all we know is that we found you stranded in the desert, which makes me wonder... do you remember how you got there exactly?"

    As I sat up on the bed I had been laying at I rubbed my head since I woke up with a massive headache. Also my leg was very soar from the large piece of glass that had impaled my leg a few days back.

    "Umm... yeah I kinda remember. I... was in uh... Elbaf when the Draconics came. We fought them but the Dragon came from out of knowhere and destroyed the city. I was knocked unconcious from
    the dragon knocking me into a building. I woke up and fleed the town and here I am. I'm sorry but can you get me some water I got a big headache."

    James stared at me with a shocked expression on his face, he looked to me as if I was crazy. Then he quickly went and got me some water, and he quickly asked.

    "Dragon you say?!"
    "Yes a dragon." I answered after drinking my water.
    "Oh my... This is not good. We must warn the Council right away!"
    "It's to strong, you don't stand a chance. I've faced this thing myself, it'll destroy this town as well."
    "Well we should still tell them, come with me."

    So James and I ran though the town, going through different ally ways and streets until we reached a very large building. It had many pillars holding up the building, and a long flight of stairs leading to the inside of the
    building. We walked into the large circular, we had to run up another flight of stairs. We reached the top and walked into a smaller room, there stood five men argueing about something.

    "It won't work! I've told you a thousand times!" One of the men said angrily at another.
    "Well...this is the Council for you." James said with a grin on his face.

    We approached a table they stood around and James interupted them.

    "Excuse me but we have some news you all might want to hear."
    "This better be important James! We were in the middle of a very important conversation!" Said the older fellow of the others, he had short white hair. He was shorter then the rest
    of the council and he had one lazy eye. He also had the biggest temper compared to most people.
    "Oh it is. This man here has told me that he encountered a dragon attack in his town not to long ago."
    "What? A dragon? That's proposterous!" Said the old man.
    "You think im lying?! I saw it with my own eyes. It destroyed my town and everything in it! I fought it trying to defend my town...but it was no use." I said angrily at him.
    "Well... I don't know why but... I believe you." He replied.
    "What are we to do..." said another man of the Council. This man was much younger than the older man. He had medium lengthed black hair, he was a taller man than the rest of the council.
    "Well first off we sh..." the old man started to say but was quickly interuppted by a shadowed figure near the entrance to the room.
    "Your methods will not work against a dragon."
    "Who the bloody hell are you?" Said the old man
    "I am a Carn Isle elder and that's all you need to know."
    "I thought Carn Isle was just a myth?" Said James.
    "Excuse me, Carn Isle?" I asked
    "Carn Isle was place where many dragons used to roam. The elders such as myself were ones who sought out to kill dragons, but one day a man named Argos Korvain didn't like our methods
    because he was a Draconic, who were people who worshipped dragons. So eventually Argos came to Carn Isle and turned all the elders to stone as well as the dragons, dragons for their safety
    and soon our story, after time,became myth. I recently was freed from the stone, how? I'm not sure. But when he freed the dragon he freed me unknowingly, and I managed to stay escape before he noticed me."
    "So how do we kill the dragon?" I asked.
    "It's been such a long time, I'm sorry I don't remember. On the bright side there is a way to learn to kill it." The shadowed man said
    "How?" I asked eagerly.
    "You must go and find Gods, they will lead you in the direction."
    "Where can I find these "Gods" at." I asked him.
    "The Temple of Ghastrasmos." He said.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In a dark cave was a group of Draconics boasting about there recent invasion. Some Draconics were getting in fights and some drank there troubles away. In another room was the leader of
    the Draconics and their high king.
    "My lord... the invasion was a success thanks to your efforts." The Draconic said while on one knee bowing.
    "Good... good your next strike shall be on Corthain in five weeks time. They will be exspecting you, do not fail me Argos!" Said the dragon.
    "It shall be done my lord!" Argos said while standing up.
    CHAPTER 6:
    "How do we get to the Temple of Ghastrasmos?" I said to James while sitting in a chair.
    Me, Carrie, James and Reg were all at James's house in his living room thinking about how we could get there. James's house is rather small but big enough to fit us all. He had walls made of logs and floors out of planks.
    The house had all the essentials a normal house needs. A bed, table, fireplace, chairs and that sort of thing. We all sat around his table thinking.
    "I might have a book on this. But I thought this was just a myth." Said Carrie. Carrie is a rather free spirited kind of person. If she has something to say she'll say it.She has long black hair and green eyes.
    She is as tall as I am and has a decent womens build.
    "Where is it?" Asked Reg.
    "Here in my bag accually." She said as she searched through it.
    "Yup, here it is, Legends and Myths."
    "Find the Temple of Ghastrasmos!" Reg said eagerly.
    "Calm down Reginald!" Said Carrie as a smirk came across her face.
    "Hey I said don't call me that, it's Reg not Reginald." Reg said angrily.
    I had my hands on my head and the only thing in my mind was Selen and if she was still alive. I don't know why but I kept picturing her dying hundreds of different ways. It started to make tears come down my face.
    "Arev, what's wrong?!" Asked Carrie.
    "It's uh... Selen..." I began to say.
    "Selen, who's that?" Reg asked quickly.
    "She's my girlfriend. In that invasion with the dragon, I had her go with the others to protect her. I have no idea if she's even alive. I don't know what I would do if she wasn't."
    "Oh I see. I'm sure she's just fine trust me. Just don't think about it for now it'll just kill you inside." Said Carrie in a calming tone.
    "Alright..." I said still while still thinking about Selen.
    "Ok, well it says here that the Temple of Ghastrasmos was where the three gods of balance, time and life rested. The temple was place at the top of Mt. Korjane out of the reach of travelers. The only way
    to get to the temple is by proving yourself worthy by going through the three trials made by the gods themselves. The first trial, the trial of strength. The second trial, the trial of skill. Lastly the third trial, The trial of
    courage. Once completed the gods will greet you with open arms. No one in past time has ever made it to the gods. Most people die before ever reaching the trials, the others die of either the cold, monsters
    or even the trials themselves. That's all."
    "Does it say anything about the trials?" Asked James.
    "Ummm, no it does not." Carrie answered.
    "Damn... now we'll never know exactly how to get past it" I said.
    "I think that's the point Arev." James said to me.
    "If the gods made these trials they wouldn't want people to get past it so easily, plus like it said in the book most people die anyways so no one could ever report how to get past it." Said Reg
    "Right, that would make sense." I said back.
    "Well Carrie does it say anything about how to get there by chance?" Asked James.
    "Let me look." Carrie answered.
    She began searching through the book skimming the pages and flipping through the book. Finally she stopped at a page that caught her attention.
    "I think I found it." Carrie replied.
    "Well what does it say?" Said James.
    "It says... the entrance lies from which none can see but all do. To gain entrance you must first possess the key in which to open our door. The key can be found at the base of Mt.Korjane.You must first kill
    the titan at the base of the mountain that protects the mountain, to obtain this key. Once got take the journey of Mt.Korjane. On your journey the path may be found if searched. That's all it says."
    "The entrance lies from which none can see but all do? What does that mean?" Asked Reg.
    "Isnt it obvious, its a shadow." I said to Reg.
    "Oohh that makes perfect sense now!"
    "Well when should we head out to find the gods?" Reg asked.
    "Probably in a few days we need to be prepared for the journey." I answered him.
    The next day
    I walked around town, taking a trip through the city to see what's here and to get familiar with the place. I walked around and a building had caught my attention. It was a church. Approaching it I looked inside, empty.
    I walked in and sat down in the middle pue on the right side. I rested my arms on the pue in front of me and looked around. Putting my hands on my head with my elbows still on the pue in front of me I began thinking.
    Where is Selen? How am I to kill this dragon? Will I get past the trials and have the gods assist me? So many questions no for certain answers. I began praying alone to myself for a few minutes. This was the
    first time I had ever done this. I felt a hand on my shoulder, it startled me since I thought I was alone.
    "You alright Arev?" Carrie asked.
    "Yeah I'm fine, you scared me there." I answered.
    "Oh sorry about that." She said as she sat down next to me.
    "Such a peaceful place isn't it? The perfect place to think." She began to say to me.
    "Yeah it is." I answered her.
    We both sat there silent for a few minutes just enjoying the peace that the church had given us.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Dead within the woods was the villagers that had survived the invasion on Elbaf. The towns people were frantic as they sat near the lake crying and hugging each other, happy to be alive but sad of the lives lost.

    "What's wrong Selen?" Asked Elbaf as he sat down next to her.
    "What if Arev is dead?" She said to Elbaf as she sat there crying.
    "He isn't trust me, he's a smart boy if he wanted to survive he'd do so escpecially because I know he loves you very much."
    "I know but what if he is dead I don't know what I would do if he is?" She said as she began to slowly calm down.
    "He won't we'll find him I promise." Elbaf answered.

    They both stood up. Elbaf gave Selen a hug trying to confort her, they began walking around near the lake.

    "Selen I want you to know everything is going to be fine alright. Trust me on this, I don't want Arev dead just as much as you do but I know for a fact he is still alive."
    "Alright, well do you care if I walk alone now please?" She asked as she stopped crying.
    "Yeah sure, come to me if you need someone to talk to alright."
    "Ok will do." Selen said.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    "Well we should probably go tell the council about what we figured out yesterday." I said to Carrie.
    "Yeah that be best." She replied.
    So we left the the church and made our way to the Council. It was dark out by this time and lightposts lit the city. A man appeared leaning against a wall. His face covered by a hood as he drank out of his cup.
    "Well isn't this a suprise!" The man began to say
    "A man with his woman on a night walk through town!" He continued
    "She's not my woman accually." I said.
    Two men dropped off the roof of the building the shadowed man had been leaning against. I unshiethed my sword, prepared for the ambush. Carrie pulled out a bow. She was very skilled in archery, she could shoot
    a hawk a top speed flying. The three men stood next to each other about to attack us.
    "Well well we got some that like to fight back, this should be most interesting!" The shadowed man said again.
    The shadowed man snapped his fingers and the other two charged us with their sword in their hands. Both Carrie and I dived out of the way. One had turned to me and the other to Carrie. I stood up quickly
    and stood ready for another charge. The man ran at me swinging his sword. I threw my hands in the air and curved my body, dodging the sword by mere inches. I parried his attack and the force flew me on to the
    ground. I parried another attack, I swung my sword at his leg cutting it. He yelled in pain as I stood up and back away. I ran at him jumped in the air and jammed my sword into the back of his neck causing
    instantanious death. Carrie was running backwards shooting her arrows into the other man. I went to assist her, the man put his sword into the air about to attack Carrie. So I swung my sword cutting his hand off.
    As I did this Carrie shot a arrow straight into the middle of his forhead, he fell back onto the hard stone ground...dead. The shadowed man that had ordered the men to kill us was shocked. He took off in another
    direction scared me might kill him as well.
    "What a coward!" I said as I sheithed my sword.
    "I know right!? Well we should probably head to the Council." Carrie said.
    We left the area where we had just fought and made our way to the Council. We reached the building and walked to the room were the five men of the Council were. As you could have exspected the men
    were argueing back and forth.
    "Excuse me!" Carrie yelled at the men.
    They all stopped talking and turned to us.
    "What is it Carrie!?" Said the older man with the bad temper.
    "Well we figured out how to get to the gods at the temple of Ghastrasmos."
    "Oh have you now!?" He relpied.
    "Yes but we are extremely ill prepared for the journey it seems. It's all the way at Mt.Korjane." Carrie told them.
    "Well looks like we'll have to get you some supplies then doesn't it?" The older fellow said.
    CHAPTER 7:
    A few days went by and everyone that was taking the journey met in the council room. The council had prepared our gear that we were going to take for the trip.
    "Thanks Frank." I said.
    "Don't mention it, if it means you protecting our world then I shall give you whatever you need to do so!" Frank said with a smile on his face. It was hard to tell if he was accually smiling because of his lazy eye.
    So Carrie, James, Reg and myself put on our extremely large bags and said our fairwells. As we were leaving there was a huge crowd outside the council building. I wasn't sure how they knew we were leaving
    or how they even knew me at all, but they were there. I smiled having the thought of feeling well respected in this town. As I looked amongst the crowd I happened to notice one particular man that looked
    oddly familiar. He was, I recently had a mix up with him only a few nights back. I killed his men in front of him as he ran off like a coward. I ignored him not trying to draw a bunch of attention to that and
    get myself sent to jail for killing him. I could tell he saw the anger in my eyes as I had stared him down, so he walked away and out of sight. We pressed forward. We neared the city gates and I took a
    pause as I stood under the archway.
    "So which direction do we go first?"
    "Uh my guess would be west." Answered James.
    "Well the journey begins, you ready fellas?" Asked Carrie.
    We all said yes in agreement and we started heading west on our way to Mt.Korjane. A few hours had passed and we made decent progress, we couldn't get as far as normal since we had big supply
    bags on our backs. We decided to take a quick 30 minute break to rest our feat and relax. I sat down on a pretty decent sized rock, Carrie sat on a stump, and James and Reg sat on the ground. I looked at the
    environment around us while holding a container of water. Most the leaves were already off the trees and more was blowing off as slight breezes came by, felt like fall when it's accually spring.
    "Ah man, my feet are killing me!" Said Reg.
    "Yeah probably." I replied. It was silent for about a minute and James said
    "Hey Arev..." He began to say.
    "Yes James?"
    "Why don't you tell us a little bit about Selen." He said to me.
    "Umm where to start? Well she's fun-loving, shy kind of like me but you probably havn't figured that out yet, um she's about as tall as I am and she had blonde hair and blue eyes. " I started to say.
    "She lived at Elbaf at the start like how I was and we both helped build the town. She's an amazing fighter with daggers I can tell yeah that." I continued.
    "She sounds very interesting." James said while smiling at me and drinking water.
    "Hey I'm just wondering but how did all you guys meet?" I asked James, Reg, and Carrie.
    "James and I met through school when we were younger. James and I met Reg when we encountered a bandit raid while we were delivering supplies to away soldiers. Hell of a good thing
    he was there or else we wouldn't be here today. He saved our ass in a time of need pratically killed every damn bandit there." Answered Carrie.
    "Really?" I asked
    "Yeah I cut off limbs, left them bleeding there own blood, and killed them where they stood, it was a bloody mess but it kept James and Carrie living and now there my best friends
    and I couldn't ask for any more." Said Reg.
    "Well I think this has been a long enough rest shall we head onward?" Carrie asked.
    "Yeah probably be best the sooner the better right?" I answered
    We all got it and began walking again. A few more hours had past and it started to get dark out. We took camp on a flat terrain with few trees and little brush but everywhere was grass. It was a perfect
    spot to stay the night at. I set up my tent and laid out my blankets where I would be sleeping and walked outside. I found a nice grassy spot and laid down with my hands behind my head looking up at the stars.
    I tried to find the constalations but with the amount of stars there was... that was nearly impossible. James walked up next to me and laid down beside where I was. He had on hand behind his head and he had
    his right knee up and his left arm across his stomach.
    "Bueatiful night huh?" He asked.
    "Yeah, really eases the pressure, y'know?" I answered.
    "Yeah it really does."
    "I just really want to go find the gods find out what I have to do to kill the dragon, then kill it, and find and be with Selen the remainder of my life."
    Sounds like a good plan you got there." He replied.
    "Yeah...but you never know what's gonna happen until it comes."
    We both laid there silent for a minute and James started to get tired so he went back to his tent. I stayed laying on the grass still. I just couldn't part from this bueatiful night sky. Eventually I got tired though and
    returned to my tent
    The next morning
    We all started packing up our things after eating a breakfast containing eggs, bread, and some milk. We got all our gear put away and we continued to head west again. As we were traveling we started seeing a cliff
    which in our case wasn't very good. We found ourselves at the edge of extremely long drop off cliff. I looked down and it seemed to be a mile down.With our luck we accually found a small crossing,
    a wooden bridge crossed over it. The bridge was suspended above the cliff, this didn't look safe. So I decided to go first to make sure it was safe. It didn't feel very sturdy as I took my first step.
    "We should probably go one at a time, this doesn't feel very safe." I told the others.
    I walked very slow across it trying not to break the boards. I felt some cracking but none ever fell through, I made it. Carrie went next and she had no problems, as well as James to. Reg was up and he started
    walking across the bridge. He got about halfway and as he took a step on a board it fell through making him fall down. He grabbed on to the board in front of him, luckily it was sturdy enough to hold him.
    "Oh my god! Don't look down! Don't look down! Don't look down!" He started yelling to himself.
    "Reg pull yourself up!" James yelled to him.
    He managed to do so but now he was frantic and was holding on the ropes to the sides with a death grip.
    "Come on Reg you can do it!" I yelled to him
    "N..nn..nooo I..I..can't!" He yelled out to us as he studdered.
    "Yes you can. Just take it nice and slow!" James yelled back to him.
    Finally growing some courage Reg took a step, and another and soon he was about a third of the way across. I started hearing something snapping or breaking. As I looked around I saw the rope tearing apart.
    "Reg run! Run now! The rope is breaking!" I yelled frantic hopping he would listen.
    Reg stood there frozen in a death grip on the ropes. Me, Carrie, and James kept yelling for him to run. I saw Reg finally what seems to have woken him up, start running now. I glanced at the rope again
    and it had ripped off, knocking Reg out of balance. He managed to grab onto the rope. The other side of the rope ripped off as well and the bridge started to collapse close to where we were. The
    bridge came crashing on the side of the cliff and it went silent. Fearing we had lost a friend we started yelling for him.
    "Reg! Reg! Answer me buddy! You there!" I yelled franticly. No response.
    "Hey Reg you there bro!" James yelled as well. Still nothing.
    "You think he's still alive?" Carrie asked us.
    "I don't know..." James said sadly.
    We decided to press forward all of us sadened we had lost him. I heard something, it sounded like something moving through bushes. I quickly turned around, as I did I saw a hand come up
    on to the pathway. I ran fast to it and there was Reg dangling on the side of the cliff.
    "Ugh, that went well!" He said to us as he hung on the pathway and grabbing his side, and a foot on one of the boards that was still attached to the bridge.
    "You made it!" Carrie said in enjoyment.
    "Yeah, enough with the small talk help me up already would yeah?" He said eagerly as he looked at down at what would have been his death.
    I grabbed his left hand and James grabbed the other and we pulled him up on to safe ground.
    "Y'know, I really hate hieghts!" He said and he sat on the ground next to James and I, looking at the cliffs.
    We sat there for a brief moment and small gusts of winds rushed through our hair and across our faces. James, Reg, and I stood up thankful no one had died and began to walk further into our journey to
    Mt.Korjane.
    CHATER 8:
    Night time came. A week had pasted since the incident at the bridge and I could feel us getting so close to the mountain but every hill we went over it never showed up. I began to question
    whether or not we were heading in the right direction. I looked around it started to seem like the land was begginning to get flatter but that could be the darkness fooling my mind. Everyone got tired of walking
    so we stopped for the night. I gathered some wood I barely found laying around our campsite, while everyone set up their tents. I walked back over to the camp which at this time was about 10 yards away.
    I'm not a big fan of the dark so I jumped at every noise I heard and searched frantic where it was. So I decided to run back. I made the fire and we all sat around it warming our hands and feet. We could hear
    owl's hooting and crickets chirping.
    "Man what a beautiful night sky huh guys?" Said James as he looked at the stars.
    "Yeah it's really pretty." Answered Carrie.
    "Y'know I used to go to this lake that was at the town I used to live and just sit on this rock and watch stars all night. I started going there after my mom passed away, it really helped me take my
    mind off of things. I took Selen there one night, that was a good night for sure." I started saying.
    "I used to do that but in these times now it's hard always having to work, seems like you never get any time to yourself." Said James.
    "Hey I found the little dipper... and the big dipper to right next to the little dipper!" Reg said in excitement quickly changing the conversation.
    "Do you feel accomplished Reg?" I said to him in a sarcastic tone.
    "Yes, yes I do!" He said smiling.
    "So how long you think it will take to find Mt.Korjane? I mean we've been traveling for at least two weeks now and nothing." I asked everyone.
    "Couldn't tell yeah never been there. But it shouldn't be to much further hopefully." Answered Carrie.
    "Well it needs to show up sooner we have a crisis at our hand and we got to stop this fast." I replied.
    "Yeah I know but my guess is we will be there in four days at most." Carrie said.
    "Or if we don't stop for a night we can make it two and a half." Reg said joined in the conversation.
    We sat there for a few minutes not talking, just enjoying the night and warming our appendages. After about a half an hour we all got tired and went asleep in our tents. Soon it was morning.
    Taking down our camp we started getting prepared to leave once more. The sun was begginning to rise, it look amazing with the way it made the sky glow with orange and the way it
    made the landscape around us shine making it look more amazing. Walking north now we were on our way. Traveling about seven hours we approached a large forest, lots of trees lots of shrubs, my suspicions
    grew as I looked into the forest. As we were in the forest it sounded as if there was something jumping from tree to tree. I looked up...nothing just leaves and branches. Out of nowhere an arrow came cutting through
    the air impaling itself into James's left leg. The tip of the arrow sticked out the back and the feathers stuck out in front.
    "Ah! My leg!" James yelled in agony as he laid on the ground with an arrow in his leg. Carrie stayed there next to James trying to prevent some blood lose.
    I quickly ran behind him lifted him from under his arms and dragged him behind a tree to give him some protection. I peeked around the corner to see where the bowsman was. As I did an arrow zoomed right by
    my face nearly impaling my skull. I quickly pulled my face away and hid it behind the tree. A thought came to my mind, and I ran from one tree to another as quick as I could. Doing this helped me from
    being shot and I could get closer to the bowsman. Finally almost to the person I saw that this person had a female build but her face was covered by a mask and she wore a hood. Her clothes were black
    and it looked as if it was easily mobile in what she wore. I looked into her eyes... blue. She ran out of arrows and she started hoping from tree to tree I followed her running. After a period of time she finally
    reached the ground and I chased her down. I caught up to her so I tackled her to the ground and she turned so she her back was on the ground. I laid on top of her motionless staring at her. I couldn't believe
    what I was seeing. I knew who she was and since she didn't move or say anything I could tell she knew me as well.
    "Selen?!" I asked her
    She pulled off her mask that covered her mouth and nose and said.
    "Arev?! Is that you?" She asked shockingly since we hadn't seen each other in weeks.
    "Yeah it is..." I said to her.
    "Oh my god! I thought I would never see you again!" She said to me happily.
    I kissed her and she kissed back as she put her hands on the back of my head while mine wrapped around her waist.
    "I missed you so much Selen you have no idea how painful it was not knowing if you were alive or not!" I said to her.
    "I think I do I couldn't stop crying for days after the attack. I felt kind of depressed and I wouldn't talk to anyone."
    "You don't need to be anymore..." I said to her as I kissed her on the forward, still hugging her.
    "Hey you know... you almost shot me!" I continued.
    "Yeah sorry about that, but didn't I hit that one man?" Selen asked me.
    "Oh yeah! Hurry come with me!"
    We got up off the ground and ran to James. He still laid there with the arrow in his leg. I picked him up.
    "The the hell is this?!" Reg yelled angrily as he glared at Selen.
    "No time we need to get James to safety!" I yelled back to him.
    "Follow me I know where we can find the doctor!" Selen said quickly.
    Selen led us to where her new town was located and she took us to the doctor who had just finished putting bandages around a mans arm.
    "Jim we need your immediate attention!" Said Selen.
    "What is this?" He said shockingly as he looked at the arrow in James's leg.
    "He got an arrow shot into his leg and we need to remove it fast and bandaged up so he doesn't die of blood lose." She answered.
    "Set him on that table there i'll take care of it, you guys leave me to my work." He told us.
    I put him on the table he directed me to put him and we all left him to his work hoping James wouldn't die. An hour passes and Jim came back out of the big white tent he was in.
    "I managed to get the arrow out. Good news is he will live. He's lucky that arrow had almost penetrated a major artery...the only bad thing is, is that he won't be able to walk for a couple days."
    "Oh thank god it wasn't any worse." Carrie said in relief.
    "He's resting now so you can visit him in a few hours."
    "Thank you Jim!" I said to Jim.
    "No problem it's my job." Jim replied.
    The doctor went back into the tent and we stood there relieved.
    "So now Arev...who is she?" Reg said pointing at Selen as anger came to his face again.
    "This is Selen the one I told you about." I answered Reg.
    "Oh she's the one you told us about?!" Carrie said shockingly.
    "Yes this is Selen." I answered.
    "Nice to meet you!" Selen said as she stuck her hand out to Carrie for a greeting handshake.
    Carrie shook her hand and so did Reg.
    "Sorry I got mad it's just I get pretty protective when someone injures my friends." Said Reg
    "It's fine don't worry about it, if I would have known you guys were with Arev, this never would have happened. I was only protecting what's left of our town." Selen said back to Reg.
    "Understandable." He replied.
    "Which one of you is Arev?" Jim said as he came out of the tent.
    "That would be me why you ask?" I answered him.
    "James would like to talk to you alone." He answered me.
    I walked into the tent and James was drinking some water while half sitting up on a bed and white blankets covering him.
    "Arev... come." He said to me. I got on one knee next to him and I asked.
    "Yeah what is it James?"
    "I want you to get to the gods, leave me here ill catch up once im all recovered." He said in a soft tone since he had just woken up.
    "Are you sure? I want you to go with me though." I said to him.
    "Yes I'm sure, you have a job to do and that's protecting our world. You can't wait for a few days and hope everything goes fine, because it won't. The sooner the better right?"
    "Yeah I suppose so. Well take care alright? We'll come back for yeah once we return."
    "I'll take your word for it." He said as a smile came across his face.
    I left the tent so James could continue to rest. I walked up to Selen and gave her a hug.
    "Well who's ready to take on the gods?!" I said out loud to everyone.
    "Wait... what gods?" Selen asked.
    "Oh right, you don't know yet. Take us to your place and we'll explain everything their." I said to Selen.
    We began walking to where Selen's new home was. It was quiet far, passing by villagers, tents even a lake. I could tell some of the villagers recognized me but I tried not to make eye contact nor talk to any of them.
    Some villagers attempted to talk to me but I ignored them, some even called my name. We finally made it to Selens new home she had set up. It was about a ten foot long tent and it stood up about eight feet. The
    width extended longer than the hieght of the tent, which was good for spacing. We walked in all that was there was a small table two chairs and a bed. I chose to sit on the nearest chair while Selen sat on the bed
    next to Carrie and Reg sat in the other chair.
    CHAPTER 9:
    "Are these gods even real?!" Asked Selen
    "I don't know but it's worth a try." I said back to her.
    "Well if they're not even real, you could risk your life for nothing!"
    "Well at this time we really don't have any other option. It's either try and find these gods or have our world destroyed by a dragon."
    "Eh I really don't think this is a good idea but when you do put it that way there isn't really a choice... I'm going with you." Selen said to me.
    "No it's to dangerous I can't let you risk your life again I won't let it happen."
    "I never asked you if I could, I'm going no madder what you say." She said as a grin came across her face.
    "Arev, I think there's no arguing with her I think she's made up her mind on this." Said Reg. I looked over to Selen and she sat on the bed smiling at me as if she knew I was going to be taking her with us.
    "I guess your right, alright Selen you can come..." I said to her.
    "So are we ready then?" Carrie said as she walked into the tent.
    "Yeah all set." Reg answered.
    So all of us stood up from the chairs and the bed and we worked our way outside. It was still mid-day outside and the sun blinded me for a second as I walked out and I put my hand over my eyes. We had
    Selen lead us out of town and after we were out Carrie lead us. We walked for about a day and way far in the distance was what seemed like the top to a mountain.
    "Hey guys! Do you see that?!" I yelled out as I pointed to the mountain.
    "Yeah I do! You think that's it?" Asked Carrie.
    "I'm more than certain that's it!" I said back.
    The pathway started getting really rough and there was deep holes all around. The ground looks charred as if someone torched it. I looked around and I saw small pools of lava. Looking at my surrounding
    some more I saw super hot steam shooting up out of the ground so I began to get weary.
    "Watch out for that steam that will burn the skin right off of you." I said to everyone.
    "Will do." Reg said back to me.
    We took our steps really slow making sure we didn't get charred by the steam. Some were only a few feet away from me and it scared me when it did. I took another step and steam came bursting up right in front of
    my face. I fell back on to the ground scared half to death, breathing heavely. Reg grabbed me from under my left armpit and picked me up off the ground.
    "This isn't safe guys!" Selen cried out.
    As she said that the ground underneath us began to crumble away. So in an instant we were all running towards the mountain. Every few steps one of my feet would fall through the ground making me fall down.
    I tried to get up as fast as I could so I wouldn't fall through the ground. We could see stable ground only 10 yards away. Sprinting to the stable ground as fast as we could all go. We jumped, and as we did
    the ground around us, about a 100 yard radius collapsed and a giant pool of lava lied at the bottom about 50 yards deep.
    "Oh god that was way to close for comfort!" Said Reg as everyone stared at the lava gasping for breath.
    "How the hell is there lava way down here?!" I cried out.
    "I have not the slightest clue." Answered Carrie.
    "The mountain isn't to far now." Said Selen as everyone stood up.
    "Yeah we should probably make our way down there now." I replied.
    "Good idea I don't wanna be near this place anymore." Reg said quickly.
    Soon we neared the gate to the start of the long climb to the top of the mountain. I looked around and I saw these long pointy sticks sticking out of the ground and the ground and bushes were black. It looked as if
    a war had been fought here not only days ago. The only area I saw that wasn't black was on the mountain and a gate that we were slowly apporching. I glanced over to my right and there was a huge rock
    cliff that looked fairly easy to climb, if you had decent climbing skills. It was to quiet, I didn't like it. I had a feeling something might came out of no where at any point. The others looked as if they had there guard
    down, but not me. If something were to come I'de be ready for it. We took our backpacks off and set them on the ground.
    "Is that... a dog?!" Selen asked as we neared the gate.
    "Yeah I think that is." I answered as I got on one knee to pet it.
    At this point I started letting my guard down as I pet the dog. It just sat there doing nothing. I looked at it's mouth I noticed there was keys attached to a metal ring hanging from the dogs mouth.
    The key to gate was right there in front of us. This didn't seem to be something that would be easy to get, there was definently a catch but I didn't know what.
    "Guys something is definently not right here." I said to them.
    "There's nothing wrong all you have to do is take the keys." Reg said as he reached for the keys that were in the dogs mouth.
    When he reached for it the dog stood on all fours, arched its back and growled. Reg pulled away and when he did the dog started morphing into this massive creature. This creature had two horns on its forehead
    and a huge barrel chest. It was completely gray except the horns they were black. It stood on two feet like a normal person and stood 25 feet tall. It looked almost as if it was a minotaur. While it morphed you
    could hear the crunching of its bones expanding and the disfiguration of its whole body as it turn into this creature.
    "This ain't good!" Carrie said.
    "No it is not..." Reg said back.
    The monster looked over its right shoulder and saw a tree and walked over to it. It grabbed the tree and pulled it straight out of the ground. Turning back around it looked right at us with anger in its face.
    Every step it took it shoook the ground around us. A few times it almost knocked me out of balance, it felt as if there was an earthquake but there wasn't, just its massive heavy feet. It slowly ran at us building up speed,
    we dodged the creature just barely. It quickly turned around and we quickly stood up. It ran at us again and swung the tree at us, we ducked but it smashed Reg on its way through. It knocked Reg far into the air
    and he smacked against the side of the cliff.
    "Reg! No!" I cried out.
    He looked dead, but I couldn't run to him at this moment. The creature swung at us again, we fell to the ground. Then it lifted the tree up above its head, two hands on the tree and smashed it against
    the ground, we rolled out of the way before he attempted to crush us.
    "Follow me!" I yelled out to Selen and Carrie.
    I ran towards the cliff and began climbing it. I looked down at Reg he was motionless, I thought for sure he was dead at this point. He was bleeding heavely on the left side of his face and he had huge gashes
    throughout his body. It didn't look well for him. We got to the top of this giant rock just out of the reach of the creature. It tried grabbing for us but it couldn't reach. So it decided to smash the tree on the rock.
    With its intelligence I could tell... it had a small brain. The tree snapped in half. It looked at the tree confused and began using his fist. I lost my balance and I fell down the side of the rock. It didn't notice me at
    first so I tried to sneak away. I managed to get behind him but with my luck a stepped on a branch making a loud "SNAP"! Turning right in my direction the creature ran at me. I tried to dodge him but it kicked me
    and I flew on the ground. The impact from the fall knocked me out, leaving Selen and Carrie on the rock helplessly. Waking up slowly I could feel blood dripping off my brow. I reached up and touched it as I
    suspected it was blood. I looked at the cliff again and Selen and Carrie were still up there while the creature was still attempting to kill them. I pulled my sword out as I stood up. I felt really weak and I almost
    fell back to the ground. I managed to get the strength to stand up, but to fight this monster I wasn't so sure. I looked at Reg then at Selen. I got mad which helped boost my confidence with anger and adrenaline.
    I charge at it with the sword in my right hand. I sliced open part of its right leg and it cried out in pain. It turned to me and I motioned Selen and Carrie to get down, and so they did. Carrie pulled out her bow
    and shot the creature right into its left arm just below its shoulder. It didn't seem to notice it to much it was to content on me at this point. Selen was armed with her two daggers. The creature charged me again, this
    time I managed to do it. I quickly ran up the cliff, I had a plan. The creature followed me and I was on top of the cliff. I took a few steps back, ran, and jumped into the air with the sword in both my hands pointing
    down at the creature. I jammed the sword straight through its skull and I tried to push it in more to make sure it was dead. It cried out even louder than before and fell down on its back. I hung on to the sword
    and landed hard on its face. Getting up slowly I got off the creature and walked backwards looking at it.
    "Is it dead?" Asked Selen.
    "I don't know but it sure looks dead to me." I answered.
    Walking back to it I kicked it, walked on top of it opened its eyes, pulled the sword out of its skull and stood on its chest.
    "Dead..." I said in relief.
    They both sighed of relief and Carrie took off running to Reg. Selen and I followed her. Selen check his chest for a beat but she couldn't hear anything. She put one hand on top of the other on Reg's chest and pushed
    down on it. She counted 1,2,3 then put her ear next to his mouth, nothing. She did this two more times and on the third one she began balling her eyes out.
    "I can't believe he's dead!" She yelled out as she cried.
    Selen kneeled down next to her and wrapped her arms around her trying to confort her. I just stood there watching in shock. This was my second friend I had lost, I couldn't handle it anymore. Losing a friend
    is the worst thing to experience in your life especially when you see it first hand. Every friend you lose it makes you feel as if your about to have an emotional breakdown.
    "Hey Selen, Carrie, I want to stay, I really do but I have to get to the gods as quick as I can. I want you to stay here alright ill be back as soon as I can." I said to them trying to stay emotionally strong.
    "Ok... be quick, be safe, we'll stay until your return." Selen said still hugging Carrie.
    I searched the ground around us looking for the key. I found it near the gate. So I picked it up and walked up to the gate. I tried a few keys none were it. I went back to the creature I had killed and in his hand was
    the actual key. I grabbed it, ran and picked up my bag, ran to the gate, and unlocked it. I paused for a moment looking at the long pathway. I saw it as it lead up towards the top and out of sight.
