For any mac-users like myself wondering how to do it:
Go to "Safari" at the top of the screen (right between the apple logo and "File"), go to "Preferences", then, in "General", go and un-check the box that says "Open 'safe' files after downloading".
Then just download the pack, and drag-n-drop the .zip into your texture packs folder.
on Firefox (Still on OSX), when downloaded it gives you a zippes file and an unzipped file
I'm officially discontinuing this pack. You may see some of the vestige textures pop up at some later date but for now this pack is to restrictive and I feel I have outgrown it.
I am working on a collaboration pack with several other people that you all might be interested in. It's coming along rather nicely.
Alright, so it looks like you guys aren't going to let this die so here's the scoop.
First off: school sucks.
Second, I don't have a scanner set up anymore, and won't have one for the foreseeable future due to moving and attending even more school.
Finally, I can't say I really want to work on this anymore. This project started as a sort of proof of concept for an art style I want to use in a game of my own. I was also really into Minecraft at the time and had rather stupidly optimistic dreams of becoming a texture art superstar like Rhodox or Doku. Nowadays, I don't play Minecraft anymore, so the only reason to keep this updated is for you guys.
However, over the past year, the only time people bumped this thread was when I hadn't updated to the latest patch. This caused the thread to die mere days after I had spent hours upon hours updating it. I'm definitely not blaming you guys (after all I never provide feedback on things I download either), but that's just how it is. Maybe I should have put more effort into advertising it, or at least have spent more time maintaining it, but what's done is done.
To top it off, I personally think this texture pack is kind of crap. I feel like If I started from scratch today with a better scanner and a lot of time on my hands (like I used to have), I could make something vastly superior to this inconsistent, artifact-filled, incorrectly tiled nonsense. But that's just, like, my opinion, man. Maybe in the future when I'm a rich and famous indie game developer, I'll take time off from my busy schedule of pretending to make games and giving speeches about DRM to remake this. Meanwhile, if any of you fine folks want to have a crack at continuing this lovely train-wreck, feel free. If you need me to explain any part of the process, go ahead and give me a shout, I still get email updates for this thread.
So for those of you that were still checking in on this ghost town, eager for any sort of update, I am deeply sorry to have failed you, truly. Thank you all for your support, and your (hopeful) understanding, It has certainly been an interesting experience.
This is the soon-to-be-famous Dableo, signing off.
Shine on you crazy diamonds.
