Rather sad about this. I don't know why. The new people will never have known a time without the enderman.
I just don't know, all the new stuff is actually taking the challenge out of it. It's getting too easy. -

I'm hoping that you can switch quickly between adventure and creative modes, so that you don't have to start a new map and be stuck with just one mode.
Why? I prefer not making it too easy! Then you could just have creative mode on, get an awesome mansion in the sky, switch to survival and... what? There's nothing to work for. -

He has confirmed MUCH more than what is in OP...
Larger height limit
Bigger Biomes
New lighting, no effect to performance
Endermen DO place and pickup blocks
New log in screen
Cobwebs are randomly generated in caves
Randomly generated MINESHAFTS
Bigger, better randomly generated dungeons
Spawn is most likely in/near a randomly generated village
Blood spurts out of killed creatures
New Bow attack animation
New eating mechanic
Sprint
No Seed influenced generation anymore
Anti-aliasing
The 1.8 update will possibly be split up into multiple parts, with most of the main features coming in a 1.8 patch and the little details and other features in a smaller patch like 1.8.2
And thats all I can remember at the moment...
Where did you get that info? Blood spurts, no seed gen anymore, mineshafts... Nobody said that. -

It looks like it's turning into an RPG.
If things are going how I think they're going, Minecraft will lose its charm that got me interested in the first place. -

Pretty sure you underestimate such a contagious disease, especially if the patients are so dangerous. It's one thing to find a cure for a disease when the patient willingly walks into a clinic, but yet another when the patient is mindless and will not. It's even more complex if it starts in a secluded area such as Tibet, where thousands could be infected before word even gets out.

To be fair, movie zombies are impossible, but there are viruses that make people "zombies" per se. They simply mess with people's heads, causing the zombies to want to seek out and bite other humans in order to spread the virus, much like an existing virus makes rats seek out cats that eat them, where the virus then reproduces in the cat's gut.
Edit for clarity: However, such a virus would also cause a person to ignore their basest instincts with each victim dying of lack of water within days. Any incident involving these would be over in a year at most, more likely less assuming the cold kills off any carriers.

Stock an airship with a ton of food, water purifiers, and extra helium, park it over a lake, drop a bucket down to gather water to purify every so often and wait till the zombies die off.

You don't understand "nuclear winter". Ice sheets have nothing to do with it. Even in the ice age, there was still sun. A nuclear winter has nothing to do with the ice, rather the lack of sun. Plants would die, animals that feed off the plants would die, and humans that feed off of both would die.

This is certainly plausible. It's possible it doesn't stand for anything, but the message might be encoded somehow.
Edit: Just listened to it, can you find the frequency it was broadcasting on or give us a clearer recording? This one is full of static.
And perhaps it means something is using a 256-bit GMR encoding or something.

No there would not.
Perhaps 1950's nuclear tech, but modern tech? We'd wipe out every nuclear-capable country, or rather any country with a decent military, off the map, then the ensuing nuclear winter would utterly wipe out everything else. You seem to consider more of the immediate effects, ignoring the longer-lasting effects.

And not many people will accept arms and legs as payment. The mere question posed invites unrealistic answers.

I've managed to earn the name 'Oktoberfest' from some people for being part German. It's annoying.
