Ok so I loaded an older map of mine and had the issue you had where none of the blocks are loading. I opened up the world in MC edit and it was perfectly fine. So I then turned all onf the graphics settings on and off. that did not work. I decided to put my game in full screen and then take it back out of full screen and then all the blocks loaded.
I have been having a lag issue too and as far as I can work out it has something to do with lighting. When I turned on vobs I gained some FPS but when I turned off alternate blocks my FPS dropped even lower. Turning off smooth lighting and fancy grpahics did not help at all. Oh Also when I just randomly decided to turn my render distance up to 32 this happened. all these screenshots are taken by just rotating my mouse.
Ok, first off i came here to check out the newer blocks since I've just started up after a 3 month period...and this place has everything! I love it! It's just the older stuff for nooby players, but go realy high and you can see a bunch of stuff that was blocked off because it wasn't done. My only suggestions are, is the fence gates take a bit of work to find, I reccommend make the fences accept the fence gate nether fences so you can easily see it,also light the place up, commands are disabled for the players so they can't fly or change time,and create maps of each floor. I got lost a couple of times...but I love it,also light up the history area it gets realy dark...well thats all i can think up of off the top of my head thats bad...now for the good! It's realy indepth explains everything and the NPC villages you can go inside them and read about them, this is just like a musuem but better. I am now you #1 fan
I would like to know what you mean by the fence gates take a bit of work to find. I never thought of creatinge maps for each floor but I will do that. Some of the areas were dark because I never finished the lighting. I had a command block that auto changed time but that might have been broken. I was trying to build the history are using the blocks from each update only (aside from signs, pressure pads and pistons) so I am not sure how to do the lighting. Concept:
My basic concept is I am making a museum of everything minecraft PC edition and putting it into a museum. I could better explain this as an interactive copy of the minecraft wiki. This could be a good guide for a new player to find out some of the basics or other concepts of minecraft without needing an internet conection with the exception of downloaded a finished version of this map. This could also be a good guide for players needing to figure out how to build somthing but find the pictures on the minecraft wiki not very helpful or confusing.
Features: Every article in the minecraft wiki that relates to minecraft PC edition. Tutorials on how to do things. and more

I cannot post you to any of my builds because of the following reasons: #1 I have no "good builds" posted on the forums. #2 Any build that are good are for uncompleted projects (like my server which I never finshed or have the money for) #3 and my amazing builds are on a dead server, However, my freind who owned it may be releasing a map soon which I can like you to when it is released. Like i said before I am trying to get my own server going (which probably won't happen for atleast 5 years) so I can help a little bit with plugins. Not so sure about groupmanager, but other plugins for things like tree farms, mines worldguard/edit, and the list can go on.
