Look here is one of your problems. If anyone of your staff yells at you for a stupid reason you demote him or kick him. Dont let him yell at you, you are the owner you have the control.
    good luck

What I do to find more staff is simply to find people I get along with. If someone in my server joins and they actually chat and I can talk to them and they have good ideas, I might add them as an op. One of my ops I found by playing in a classic server with and we got along well. Another I had come to my server to help me with ControllerBlock plugin and soon enough he got op. These ops have been great on my server and help out a lot. If you don't like an op remove /item or other command from them until they improve.

The thing is, I know him in real life, and he also knows another op on my server; one who is a good one. If I demote/fire him, he'll hate me for doing so in real life. If I didn't know him in real life, I would have kicked/demoted him loong ago. :C

If you don't know, I'm the person who always seems to have problems with staff. I need some help on maintaining a good staff group, as I'm very inexperienced in all this.

For the past few months, I have been maintaining the whole server myself, spending hours fixing griefs, since the undo function of my server doesn't work a lot. One staff in particular, has always seemed to be busy with something for those past months. And for what he has told me, he's just a middle school student. He doesn't even know what "busy" is until he starts working.

When I try to remind him to start working, he responds with one of the following:
[*:211falp2]Say that they have been doing what I want them to do, and blame me for not being clear on what else I expect them to do; they follow my instructions word for word (I say "maintain the guestmap and help those who have questions," they just promote those who make good things, help guests, and completely ignore the griefs that need fixing).
[*:211falp2]Yell at me for just picking on him, and not everybody else.
[*:211falp2]"I'll try to do it." (he's been saying this for the past months)

I can't just "fire," or demote him, since I know him in real life, and he would never let me forget this. Besides, I have no idea how to get more people to join our server as staff.

I know that when you saw the title, you probably thought NO THATS A CODING NIGHTMARE. But, it seems like coders these days can make any mods. So....is it possible? Probably not. Maybe. idk :tongue.gif:

For a PC, I think you can just press "Print Screen" w/o holding ALT. That's what I have been doing for as long as I can remember. Or my computer's weird, haha.

I'm going to have to say no.. but here's why. People abuse these sorts of things, via spamming, or what have you, with the sole intention to just be annoying, and if implemented, there would be no exception to this. Especially, the far and few between that would find some sort of way, to be able to mass Spam the sound effect and do possible damage to the ones who have to listen, IE, Lag, Crashing, Etc. I've seen these types of features exploited before, I don't think this would be an exception to the rule.

I would only agree with it in the pretenses that you could turn this feature off, or if it was turned off by default and was something you had to manually turn on yourself.

Oh yeah, I haven't put much thought into the spammers. Thanks for telling me!

posted a message on D3 Custom Fonts?
I downloaded the public release of Dadido3's Server Software to play around with it. Usually, I open the folder and explore around, seeing what I can customize without breaking anything. Then, I saw the following files:

    D3_Server_0896 > Data > Fonts
    D3_Server_0896 > Data > Display_Font.txt
    D3_Server_0896 > Data > Display

Does that mean that you can change how the chat messages/system messages/words look like when you're playing in your client, or does it just do something else?

That would be so cool if I can change the Minecraft font.

posted a message on Game Idea - Dissipation
This idea is like the game "Fallout" played on many D3 Servers, but it's not as much as a dedicated game mode, but more like me playing with physics to make an unofficial game. This is a workaround to play something like Fallout on non-D3 servers. Here's the game idea:

    What you need:
    - A server running MCLawl, or any server that has the ability to make blocks start to randomly disappear, or "dissipate."
    - At least two players, and a person with the high enough rank to make the blocks disappear as stated above.

    How to play:
    1. Make a platform that's more than one block thick, but as close to 500 blocks in total.
    2. Put players on the corners/sides of the map, like in a normal spleef match.
    3. Get the gamestarter to make the platform start to dissipate. (Best if he has the WoM client, so he can fly out of the way when the game starts.)
    4. Last one standing wins.

Variations/Add-Ons (You can always combine or change these variations to make it more fun for you):
    1. Spleef Dissipation - Make the blocks dissipate slower, and at the same time, allow the players to play a spleef match while dodging the dissipating blocks. Works kind of like a reverse spleef match while playing a normal spleef match, only the server is the reverse spleefer.
    2. Trapdoor Dissipation - Make the platform out of a tdoor, so when players try to click on it, it works a bit like a trap door, so any player above it falls through, but it spawns back, until it dissipates (for non-MCLawl servers, a tdoor works here like any block that instantly spawns back).
    3. No-Touch Dissipation: Make the platform out of adminium, so trying to break the blocks would be illegal. In MCLawl, it kicks someone for trying to click, and in most other servers, nothing will happen if you click them. Note that in order for this variation to work, the gamestarter must be able to modify adminium, and the players must not be able to modify it.
    4. Falling Dissipation - Have the gamestarter make blocks crumble and fall from above onto the playing field, so the players can use them as temporary "islands," but they can also get in the way.

    Tips:
    - If you can, you can slow down the physics to make it a slower round.

    Differences:
    - It's not as much as a skill-based game like Fallout. In Fallout, it tells you when a section is going to disappear, because it will turn from yellow to red before disappearing, so you can always dodge the disappearing blocks. This is more of a random game, where you can't "get better" at it, as far as I know (you can always somehow figure out how the server calculates which blocks it "randomly" deletes).
    - You get to mess around and make variations of Dissipation more than Fallout, since that is server-hosted and hardwired into the software, but this game is completely user-hosted.

Thanks for reading this, and tell me what you think in the comments below! Also, if someone could make an article about this on the minecraftwiki and link it to me, it would be greatly appreciated!

posted a message on Chat notifications in Minecraft.
I think that it would be pretty nice to have Minecraft notify you with sound when someone else in a server (Alpha or Classic) says something.

It will probably be easy to code in if the game just gave a simple ping or click sound when someone says something when you're not focused on the Minecraft window, but if a visual mini-window showing the message were to pop up, that will probably be harder.

Also, another problem is that if you're on a popular server, and you switch windows to do something else for a minute (say, checking your email), the window might start "ringing" like, every second, since there are many players talking on it.

posted a message on Any way to edit offline players' titles?
I posted this on the MCLawl forums too, but since I have had past experience with this site, I know that people reply very quickly here. So:

I have a forum for the server that I run, and I plan to give forum members a title that says [Forum_Member]. However, I can't use /title on offline people ("Cannot find player."), so I was wondering if you have a file where the server stores information about players that I can edit. I don't want to hunt down each player, wait for them to go online, and title them.

Any help on how to edit offline players' titles would be greatly appreciated :Notch:

posted a message on How do I make caves w/o a cave command?
    Hey everyone,

I'm working on an underground spa/thing in my server, and I want to give it a natural, underground hot-springs theme. However, I'm on MCLawl 45.2 and there isn't a command that lets me generate caves in a specific area. Also, if I try to make my own, they won't look very natural.

Any suggestions on how to make realistic caves with commands like /cuboid, /line, /replace, /copy, etc.?
