posted a message on Iron gole farm problems
I'll second the design in Docm77's video. Took me four days, but built it in my survival world. Only used one side of it too, not sure if the xbox world can handle enough villagers for all four spawning areas. Just used a simplified grinder idea from OverlookedEnt using lava at three high and everything falling into hoppers beneath. It really works quite well, I swing by every now and then to grab a couple stacks of iron. It has built my large beacon pyramid and my enderman farm's pistons and tripwires so far. No complaints.

OverlookedEnt's latest design is almost identical other than door placement if I remember correctly, but side by side on my creative world, DocM77's design performed better for me. Just my opinion though.

I just skimmed through this thread, so my issue may already be posted although I didn't see it.

I've tried this in both survival and creative in new worlds, build a column over Y145 then save and quit. Reenter the world and everything built over Y145 is not rendered.

posted a message on Item drop limit
    Hello,
Seems like I remember a couple updates back, they changed the item drop limit, or did something different with it. It used to be 200, but can't seem to find on the forum whether it was changed or not.
No big deal if no one responds, I'll just build a big wheat farm in creative and see what happens, but if someone knows, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Hey OverlookeDEnT, thanks for the video, was wondering if this was now possible.

Oddly, been playing this game since it came out for the console, but just found your vids last week. Working my way through them, good stuff.

You only have to remove the netherack remember mobs can't spawn on bedrock. Like the user above me stated if your doing it purist survival use half slabs but make sure to make it Ghast proof. If you don't mind "bending" the rules of the survival aspect a little, a good way to spawn proof the nether is with water via ice blocks. You could mine ice with a silk touch pick counting the number of blocks you mine then give them to yourself in creative. Then just clear out the nether of netherack down to where the first layer of bedrock starts then go to a wall and place ice blocks all along the bottom of it and an adjacent wall then break all the ice. It will flow out creating water sources along the whole nether. Just follow it along filling in holes where the water flows down and voila spawn proof nether. If you build your spawner in the exact center of the nether you should be far enough away from the walls that you don't have to worry too much about spawns there.

Just wanted to add at the bottom of your fall chamber surround it with cactus because magma cubes don't take fall damage so I usually let them jump into cactus lol

Wow, don't even know where to start with this. Zombie pigmen will spawn on the bedrock around the edges of the nether and silk touch doesn't pick up ice yet.

I actually suck at the combat portion of this game too, and wasn't sure how I'd fare against the dragon. Turned out to not be that hard. Enderman that I accidentally looked at tended to be the biggest annoyance. I had to climb the towers to destroy the crystals (suck with the bow) and I just crouched on the top of the last one while the dragon flew around. He'd fire at me a couple times which my enchanted diamond armor shrugged off then he'd swoop down and hover over the end portal/egg. Gave me an opportunity to hit him two or three times with the bow before he'd repeat the process. It was all over in about ten minutes and I only had to use one healing potion when a group of endermen gang rushed me. You should be ok.

It can be up to 19x19 actually.

As long as passive mobs cannot move more than 20 blocks in any direction, they will not despawn and disappear. Hence why you see so many mobs hangout on single block cliffs. They get stuck and can't move so they don't despawn.

Well, this is worthless information. I haven't done much with animals, but since sheep will soon regrow wool and I have some projects on my survival world that need it, decided to start sheep farming. Started with five pens that were 25x8, and sheep despawned regularly. Hopped online and found this very thread and this very post. Cool, made the pens 19x8, guess what, they still despawn. So thanks for the help. Did you even test this information before throwing it out there?

posted a message on How to Make a Cobblestone Generator?
    Quote from Shades747

An obsidian generator would require you add lava every time, and the results can't be moved with pistons. Hence, why nobody builds a generator. The closest you can get at this point is a controlled fountain where you pour buckets of lava at the base. No real design needed beyond general creativity.

No, you can make obsidian by running lava over redstone next to water. It's easy with pistons, hit a lever, lava flows down a line of redstone, shut off the lava, press a botton so other pistons scrape the lava off the top of the newly made obsidian, and then mine it. The video a couple posts above is the most basic method.
