It mostly depends on the situation you're in at the time. If i was up close to the person and I couldn't get away, I would use a sword. But if I had a chance to get far away without the person coming to me, I would use a bow. But i mostly prefer swords as they are more practical in close fighting situations, which i am in 75% of the time.
I made a mob trap on my singleplayer world, and since i couldn't find a dungeon, i found and made one that looks like this:
EEver since I made it, only about two mobs have actually spawned and fallen. Is there anything i'm doing wrong? There's a roof on the mob trap, and the one where they spawn has a higher roof than the roof of the water. Like this:
That cobblestone 'wall' you see at the back is the beginning of the second roof. But there are no mobs spawning, and there's no light up there. What should I do? I worked hard on this trap, and I really don't want it to go to waste. What can i do to make the mobs spawn more?
You may want to, instead of using the two stair blocks as a corner, use wooden blocks instead, and keep having wooden blocks at the corner of the stairs at all corners - this should solve your blending problem as well.
Hope I helped! Here's an example of what I mean:
I used Nether Brick Stairs so you could see the wooden planks.
Thank you! But i still have the problem of what to put as the roof of the second part. :/
I started a new survival world, did the usual exploring, and I finally started to build my official house. It looks like this so far:
(I have toomanyitems installed, so i could switch to creative to fly.)
Now, I think it looks good and all, but the roof seems extremely messed up. I'm a TERRIBLE roof designer, so I need help on what type of roof I should make. The biggest problem is making a roof for the bigger side of the house that will blend with the entrance part of the house.
Here's the house from behind:
wI really need help, because at this point the house looks bad. Can anyone put up a screenshot or some advice on how to make the roof on this? I know it's a lot to ask for, but it would be really appreciated.
Here's a closer picture of the roof i've done so far for the entrance part:
Thank's so much guys!
(If requested, I can put up a world download of my map. That might make it easier for some of you to help me.)

No, I wasn't using xray, and it wasn't from one run. I went multiple times and it took me a while.

Thank you,
alisparrowxxCan someone make a video on this? I'm really confused about the foundations and how it's set up.
