um its a good noise o.o just not what im looking for.
I'm really just trying to change the default to seem female.
It will sound more professional like that.
I don't know how you figure when you justified the justification for denying my sound. But whatever, good luck with that, it's really ****ing hard.
First one is kind of like a woman in her perhaps 30s... a sort of matured voice.
Second is more of the kind of voice you expect to hear in a game featuring a woman who get's hurt. It's the same sound but at a lower tempo and higher pitch.
It's nothing to do with RAM, I assure you. In my personal experience it's to do with demand on the CPU. Though I've never had everyone kicked from my server before, I do see this message a lot. Mostly when I am running a lot of other high-demand programs.
Is this on ALL blocks or just SOME blocks. Specifically is it (primarily) occurring on any of the following:
Torches
Ladders
Signs
Fences
If it's occurring on all blocks then I have absolutely no idea. If it's occurring primarily on the list of blocks above, then it's a bug in the server software, remedied by persistence or deleting the block on which the offending block is placed.
The first problem is difficult to diagnose. There are a number of factors. For me, the usual suspect is a firewall routing issue.
You see, my firewall requires me to specifically point to an IP for which to route connections from a port.
In the 192.168.x.x range. Sometimes this changes unexpectedly causing connection issues, even on a local level. If you have to manually forward ports (especially if it's directly on the router) this is something to check. You can get the information for this from the Command Prompt. Open it up and type: "ipconfig /all"
Assuming you're on a desktop connection this will be listed under an Ethernet connection. The IP you want is the IPv4 Address, it will say something like this "192.168.0.4 (Preferred)" of course, this varies from computer to computer.
LAN IP for incoming connections in firewall rules.
The second issue, if you're connecting 2 computers in the same house to a server also hosted in the same house. Well, the first problems solution also comes into play here. See, that LAN IP for the firewall rule is actually the IP of which computer receives the inbound information.
So, if you're on the same network, then you can enter that LAN IP from any computer connected to the network and it should connect without any IP conflict.
Remember, localhost and 127.0.0.1 only work when the server host and the client are at the SAME terminal. If they are JUST sharing the same NETWORK, then this doesn't work.
Well I'm not sure how based on the description "Software, robots, programming..." though I think it probably just stems from a laziness to decide or perhaps the larger audience of OT means people decide to post there to get a bigger reply count on their thread. Regardless I agree that the description should better encapsulate the purpose of the board.
Perhaps something along the lines of "Computers, robots, physics...". Since that specifically underlines that computers on a whole (software, firmware, hardware, etc) and SCIENCE is now actually included as a part of the description in the form of "physics". It might cause confusion in other fields of physics such as biology and chemistry. But hopefully if someone wants to discuss those things, they should have the brain to distinguish which category the discussion falls under. Otherwise it's probably wise to keep it out of eyes of people who DO know better.
Anyway, this leading off into another area. Primarily the focus should be on restructuring the board to encompass entertainment mediums as a whole. Whilst still catering to those who which to divide the 3 suggested mediums apart.
May I suggest a poll with the options of:
- Keep the current structure
- Encompass all 3 mediums into a single "TV, Movies, Music and Games" board
- An "Entertainment" board with the sub-catergories for "TV & Movies", "Music" and "Video Games"
I think a public opinion poll would ultimately decide what the best course of action would be. Also it might push your argument forward if the public agrees with you.
SMP obviously has priority even though currently it feels like Minecraft has low priority to Notch, the speed of updates has dramatically dropped. Infact, I don't think there has been any significant changes to SMP since I've been away, for 2 weeks. Or infact the weeks leading up to that.
I'm severely disappointed, in a very selfish (but I think sort of just) way.
Notch has VALVe fever. His "soon" is the equivalent to "several months" or "never". Depending on the severity of his illness.
I wish he would hurry the hell up and sort out server-side inventories. I'm sure if he stuck to it, it'd take him no more than 3 days to do it.
S4's community actually isn't too bad. (s4source.com)
Well, it wasn't when I used to go there. I would still go there, but I stopped playing the game because I suck so hard. Also, alaplaya made the slots thing suck elephant ****. So I can't get any good equips anymore, unless I pay for the credits. Which is something I'll never do, it's a waste of money and I despise any subscription or microtransaction.
I nearly did a MT once, but the system failed. I am thankful it did, it gave me enough time to realised what I nearly did and punish my stupidity.
Oh and, I doubt Minecraft would be one of their top 3 enterprises. If anything, it would be HL related news, perhaps some console related stuff and then something else which I can't begin to imagine.
Well, minecraft on steam, wait a second... that means that there will be a new minecraft forums on steam!
I wonder who is going to migrate to the valve forums...
Interesting note: this fan version was in production parallel to the original. It was set for release at the same time. I can't remember if it succeeded or not. But it's still interesting nonetheless.
Brilliant flash game. I tried to convince the author to give me the source, he said he would have, but he was embarrassed by his spaghetti code. Ah well, can't win them all.

*cough*
However, I do think that is the only audio file that needs changing... so "sounds" is sort of... misleading.
Also: filesmelt.com will host any file :biggrin.gif:
