He's still right though. I haven't had a virus in just short of a year. The last virus I had was from an unfortunately well disguised rouge download. I had to manually clean my PC, it was a fun few hours.

I doubt anyone is going to go OHSHIT PIRATE, BAN BAN BAN. I mean, I posted links and nothing was said to me, I said I downloaded the game illegal and nothing was said to me.

What? I know there isn't a 360 emulator I'm going to play it on pc. Sorry, if I made it unclear :sad.gif:

Considering Reach isn't out on PC. I find that very difficult to believe.

I don't think we've had any problems stemming from the post count being displayed. I don't really see the point in hiding it...

The only point would be hiding it from people thinking that higher post count = being better and smarter.
    It did happen.
    *cough cough*

I noted your little "cough cough" there. I never said my post count makes me smarter, that's just illogical. Better? No not really, perhaps it would be advantageous in certain situations. For example, you could trust links that I post etc.

It's possible he got to play the game if he met them inside the Bungie offices. But from the sounds of things he didn't, otherwise it's likely he'll have met more of them and unlikely he'll have drank beers with them.

Why don't you donate (some of) that money to heavily underfunded forums and wiki.

Well, you'll need to write an emulator since there isn't one available.

E: Sidenote. Credit system sucks, it doesn't even account for the work you put in. For example, fighting one round and losing in firefight grants you nearly the same amount as fighting 3 sets and winning.

posted a message on Everyone should program
    Quote from SteGriff »
In the coming years, programming will be a skill just as important as cooking is now.
However, I don't want every man and his dog to be able to program, because that will take away my job value, won't it? :tongue.gif:

That's an overstatement. Cooking is required to eat and live, programming doesn't really keep you alive. For most it's either just a job or a pass-time (or both). It's not a required skill, nobody really NEEDS to program at any point in their life.

It's important that there are people who DO program, for it advances our technological civilisation. But again, not everyone needs to program.
