    Avii, I just came back here after a few months' break from mods other than FTB, and damn! You've done a lot of work. I love it. Even the thread looks great - very professional! Can't wait to get this re-installed and try it all out. Keep up the awesome work. I love this so much.

    Your strafing keys would turn your vehicle or horse, just as it works for vehicles currently. Maybe hitting both at the same time will do a hard stop. Maybe there's a chance you could get your horse to rear and throw you ;3...

    Hitting another button will allow you to use a bow, but you won't be able to steer until you exit that mode. Mayhaps your horse will try and path for you (I know there're issues with them running into fences and walls until you take control as it stands.)


    Sounds good to me! I remember one of my favourite horse games when I was younger worked similarly to that. I think I'd rather that system, anyway.

But the reason that Flowerchild backed out of forge was not because it was a bad idea, but because of variouse other reasons, such as personality diferances with a key developer, what course the api was following, ex (see the interview on the BTW post). I doubt there will be similar reasons to not use the official api, (he is not involved in its development, of course. Again see the interview on the post, it gives a much better explanation) and he believed in the vision of a common api in the first place.


    Yeah, I'm very hopeful for the official API. I just wish we knew when it was coming. At this rate we could die of old age waiting for it. ;)

    Ran into this today after updating BTW and Optifine (the latter from B2 to B3). I reverted back to B2 and all was right in the world again.

    Yes, and I have a love affair with it, lol. As much as I love and live for horses, it just doesn't add the amount of content that BTW does. When I'm planning to make a world for the long-term and something that will hold my interest for a long time, I really can't imagine not playing with BTW!

    This is after Mo'Creatures and now Millenaire also switched to Forge, which were both a kick in the pants. Your mod was a happy alternative (edit to add: not that I prefer Mo'Creatures to yours. Actually I used to use both and disable the horses on Mo' because yours are better - so I wasn't horribly devastated when it switched to Forge first) to the former for me that was still compatible. And now my dreams are crushed.. Or put on hold ;p

    Don't get me wrong, I understand! And I'm very thankful you still have plans to do an ML version! I guess I just needed to vent. All these awesome mods switching to Forge makes me sad. In my heart.

    Keep up the good work, maybe some day we will live in a world where everything works with everything else XD

    I'm a month late coming back to this thread, but that sounds like a neat feature.

    After a hiatus of playing Minecraft, I've decided to give it another go with a different set of mods. I'm switching Mo' Creatures out for your mod because Mo' Creatures now uses Forge, and yours is superior IMO. I'll let you know what I think!

    I also wanted to offer my assistance - if you ever need help figuring out if something is accurate to reality, or have any questions about anything horse-related, shoot me a message! I have an absurd amount of horse knowledge in my brain from the past 14 years, would love to put it to some use related to gaming ;p

    I may also do a Randomobs texture set.. I definitely need ponies that look like mine IRL :)

    I got the flowing water and lava problem, and thought "ok, I'll work around it" but when I jumped into one of the waterfalls, my game crashed, and now I can't open that save. What the heck could be the reasoning for that?

    I guess I'll just restart with the modded version, but I'm afraid to jump into any water now.

    Oh, it uses Forge now? That's disappointing. I love this mod but I don't know if I can use it anymore.

    I also hate the addition of fishbowls. Fish tanks would be much better.. You are just teaching people that fishbowls are okay.. And they're not. They're abuse.

    Massive respect from a fellow horse-person!

    My only suggestion is that it's not very realistic to change a horse's breed. I know vanilla cats do it too, but it's not great. Is there any way you can make the different breeds spawn in the wild and need to be tamed?

    That said, I will be keeping an eye on this mod, I love the look of these horses much more than the Mo' Creatures ones!

    BTW will work fine without Mo' Creatures. Mo' Creatures will work fine without BTW. Put them together, and it crashes at the main menu (before you load a world).

    Since they both work independently, I'm not sure where the best hope for a fix is.

    Anyway, these two mods used to work together in 1.1, so I didn't think it would hurt to bring it to your attention, in case there is something you were interested in adjusting, to make them happy again.


    I'm running BTW with Mo' Creatures (and a handful of other things) with no issues :)

    Let me start off by saying I love the work you're doing and I'd never be able to do it (at least not this style)

    However (as someone who owns and spends a good deal of time with horses), the horses are waaaay off. I'm not really sure how to give you tips to improve them aside from looking at pictures, but right now they just look like random shapes stuck everywhere. I mean NO offense and I hope you don't take it that way! Just trying to help :)
