    I don't think its only the fact that it has no impact, it actually has negative impact, meaning that it actually makes the balance of the game worse. Since he's spent the last few months balancing what already exists in the game, he's no longer interested in adding more to his plate while he's trying to wrap up developing BTW and start on his new project.

    If you look at it from his point of view the decision makes sense I think. He'd have to sit there for hours, updating BTWs code to the newest version of MC while actually making his mod worse and adding more work for himself later.

    While I have not encountered animal troubles with the update yet. Have you considered (after destroying the offending portal) replacing any breeding animals inside the automatic animal farm? I know thats probably going to be a pain in the ass but it doesn't completely destroy the build like you make it seem.

    The way it seems to work is the animals themselves are permanantly affected, so removing the portal will not reverse the effects.

    I've just read the above, does that mean it would be difficult to fix the mattock item in the Better Than Wolves mod? I know i've posted this earlier, but I just thought i'd post it again incase it was missed.

    Although all the other tools in the mod work correctly, here is what it looks like when I switch from the mattock:

    Forgive me if this has been discussed before, but i've been getting a wierd graphical glitch with spiders for the longest time now. The textures appear correct in the .zip file but in-game they appear bright white, as if theres a semi-transparent white texture over the proper texture. The wierd part is, it seems when I switch texture packs then switch back, sometimes the texture displays correctly until I load the game up again.

    Has anyone else experienced this and how do I go about fixing it?
    FYI, i'm using the latest MCpatcher with RandomMobs, Custom Colours, Better Skies and the HD patches. Although this problem has been around for me for many versions of MCpatcher.

    I don't know if that's such a good idea. There is no distinction between wild animals and being in a pen so after the first night and any night after, the chances of finding wild animals would be slim to none because they would all be killed by zombies.

    I do agree that keeping animals in holes looks kinda lame, so I always make pens for them myself so I never capture animals until I have some pens ready.

    As far as I know this is already implemented in the mod with Soul-steel armour.
    If I remember correctly wearing any piece of soul steel armor will increase hunger drain dramatically and make you unable to swim. Also, some (all?) pieces of the armour have special abilities, I think the helmet makes you not drown as fast in water for example.

    Great job on the mod! Adds a lot of immersion in multiplayer.

    One minor thing though, i'm using the Better Than Wolves mod, and by default it seems all the mod items are working except for the Mattock (default itemID=284 in the BTWConfig file). When switching away from the mattock, the icon for the boot armor slot appears instead of the mattock tool.

    I'm only using this mod, modloader and better than wolves.

    If you need any further information just let me know what to do.

    I'm not sure how to go about asking this without sounding rude or entitled, but is anyone able to update the Better Than Wolves textures?

    So far i've been able to hack together some simple textures by modifying existing tiles but some parts i've had to grab from other similar texture packs so I don't think I should be distributing that. When it comes to difficult textures like nethergroth, i've no idea what to do...

    They look great! Looking forward to using it, as i've still got vanilla textures on the BTW items but JohnSmith on everything else.

    Personally, i'm not sure I like the "out" written on the texture of the gearbox. Other than that it looks awesome!

    It'll be fine, we had the worst of the yogscast community in here. A few thousand views from an obscure blog should be fine. Just getting my opinion in there.

    Yeah you are doing several things wrong here. Firstly, your gearboxes are not faced correctly. The faces with the arrows must point to where the power is COMING from (your waterwheel). Also, to transfer power an axle is needed, meaning that two gearboxes sitting next to eachother will not transfer power. Someone also pointed out that the mill only recieves power from the top and bottom. Good luck!
