    Xaoss, you're alive! What happened?
Are you going to continue working on Linecraft? You should!
You're definitely better at this than me.

Anyway, I've finished updating it for 1.6, so everyone can keep using it right now. I'll add that in the OP.
But Xaoss, I think you should take over from here.

Ha, well maybe i will continue to work on this in the future, but i wont be touching it for a couple of months. We have just had a complete s*it storm of work coming in constantly to the studio so i really have no time for it. (working right now on something thats going to be showcased to about 20,000 screaming people in 2 weeks and we are nowhere near done...)

so yeah i have just been lurking around somewhat. you / all you guys keep it up.

    No problem,
    1. open the linecraft.zip
    2. open the texture file in ms paint or any other image editor
    3. replace the water you dont like with the other available water i already have in there
    4. save file
    5. re zip all the linecraft contents.

When you say "open the texture file", are you referring to the "terrain.png" file?

Hi, Yeah sorry i should have been more clear, inside the terrain.png file there are alternative water and lava tiles, just swap them over and all is dandy.

I have been using this for almost two weeks now. I find it hard to even look at anything else. My only gripe is that the compass and clock don't work yet. I look forward to this being completed and don't see myself changing my mind about using it.

This pack is cool! But you have repair the compass and clock. Please, this is the best pack ever!!!

I wasn't aware of the compass and clock problem, i will look into fixing it! thanks

I don't think Xaoss is working on this anymore, and I am not. You're welcome to work on it if you want though.

Just to update everyone, i have been a bit absent from this for a while but i still plan on finishing this at some point, i still check this forum every few days to see what people are saying about it but texturing mobs is so time consuming as you have to chase them about to see if it looks any good and even when you find the mob your looking for its hard to really observe the texture due to death, arrows and explosions, so recently i havn't had the time. So those of you waiting for an update just sit tight and it will come along eventually!

posted a message on a few questions about texture packs
Unless you need actual doors as well you can just retexture one of the two doors to be cobblestone...

for example keep the wooden door normal and retexture iron doors to cobble (or visa versa) which should be easy to do. Then you just need to put a switch for your secret doorway (if you used iron doors) and no one will be any the wiser!

you wont be able to just walk through it like reeds but it will be an actual secret door that you will have to know the location of and location of the switch to activate.

Alternatively if you need to keep both iron and wood doors as normal im not sure how hard it would be to add another door object to the game via the mod? possible some modder could do it quite easily.

posted a message on [Mac] Need help with compression program.... [/Mac]
Hey, i had this problem when first trying to compress texture files on my machine too. What i found was that i was actually compressing everything inside a folder so i would make a folder

    Linecraft >

then put inside the terrain.png for example so it becomes

    Linecraft > Terrain.png

then i would zip it and name the archive.zip Linecraft.zip so it becomes

    Linecraft > Linecraft > Terrain.png

Now when you unzip it you get the same results as when you unzip someone else's texture where you have the folder with your textures in. but its not actually the same. minecraft is trying to read

    Linecraft > Terrain.png

    but is getting

    Linecraft > Linecraft... no terrain.png

because you have too many directorys so it cant find the texture files.

So what you need to do i select all the files you want in your texture pack so make sure terrain.png and the gui folder and whatever else is all selected for example, then right click and 'Compress'. Then rename your Archive.zip whatever you want to call it and try and run it in minecraft it should work fine....

... that is assuming you have the same problem i had and dont have a totally different problem, but heres to hoping eh!

    - Release 0.6 17th Jan -

Quite a major update and i think we are fast approaching LineCraft 1.0. I made a effort to get a large amount of content made for the pack instead of nitpicking on things i don't like so as per usual there are still many things i want to change don't view this as a final pack (any suggestions for changes are welcome).

Im not going to post an image of any of the new stuff (you can see what the pack kind of looks like from the pictures on the first page) i will do lots of lovely new screen shots and make a big deal of it when we reach version 1 so until then im just going to post the link for the pack and let you discover the new things in it.

Finally as well the pack comes in a nice .ZIP file for you to install into your minecraft the proper way (i still advise the HD texture fix patch, and the betterlight /grass mod)

so here you go guys and gals, enjoy!

With what software did you use to make the texture pack, its amazing :SSSS:

I used Adobe Photoshop, but it wouldnt be hard to make with a simple paint program i didnt use any advanced tools, just a little know how of pixelart.

    Quote from Alopeix »
You will have to pardon my ignorance, however, I was really interested in trying this texture pack out, but it has me confused. The other texture packs I've tried have all been zip files with a download link provided. So, I know how to get and use those texture packs. How do I go about using this texture pack with just the png of the image grid? The information on the wiki implied that all the files in the texturepack folder had to be zips to work properly.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer to me. I'm fairly new at the game and just recently venturing out to the texture packs.

    Quote from NeiraRose »

I'm also wondering the same thing. :0)

    Quote from Alopeix »
Followed those instructions and they did not work. It just loads the game as default when I follow those instructions.

    Quote from deano1987 »
How do you apply this ti minecraft :s no instructions?????

Sorry guys i didnt think to include it as a easy to use pack due to it being so incomplete, however now i have completed more of it i will start to include a .zip file for you with some instructions. Until then rename the file terrain.png then zip it, then use as you would any other texture pack.

    Quote from ovat »

Also, i have a suggestion: i would like to see some transparency on the leaves. Maybe you can make so that only one shade of green is visible, and the other is transparent? Don't know if that would look good though.

Anyway, great work so far! Best texture pack i've come across so far. Can't wait for icons and such :smile.gif:.

Im not a big fan of the transparency in trees, however i will do some sperimenting and maybe include the option. icons are on their way :SSSS:

What you've done is mesmerizing. This is coming from someone who makes his life as a designer, me. I sincerely hope you're planning on expanding your work to mobs, interface and such. Cause right now, the landscape looks beautiful, but mobs still look like crap and out of place.

    Best of luck!
