Yup indeed, a picture tells a thousand words. But I guess the filter would need to be able to handle x,y and z coordinates.
Also, I've been thinking more, I know there are some filters out there like inHaze's circles one and one that Sethbling did that let you rotate objects laterally by increments other than the standard 90 degrees in MC Edit, but are there any out there that let you tilt/pivot objects like you can in 3d imaging programs along all 3 axes? I'm making some organic models, and I'd like to be able to make copies, and tilt/rotate them accordingly to fit the scene. I know I could export the model to Blender or whatever, then move it around, but then I'd need to recolor/retexture it after importing it back in with Binvox.
