you know what sony should stick to making what they make best aka Home entertainment system such as TV's, Music Systems
and not ripping off other gaming systems like the xbox was the first gaming console to have an internal HDD and sony stole that idea for the ps3
Not exactly. The PS2 had an internal HDD long before the original Xbox was released.
Also, as far as the console war goes, you're both pathetic for being sucked into something so childish. - To post a comment, please login.

Fantastic! This is exactly how I've always pictured Minecraft in my head!

You should pass that on to Dinnerbone.

You're over reacting.
Adding a Mod to Minecraft is an incredibly tricky task, I'm not talking coding wise, but legally. For 4J to add a mod like say Tekkit for example, they'd first have to sort out a contract with Tekkits creators allowing them complete control of their mod, not only that but they'd need to sign agreements with every single mod creator that has contributed to Tekkit. Alright, than there's Microsoft, Microsoft requires a sizable payment for their DLC space somewhere in the tens of thousands, 4J no doubt has the funds for this but now they have to figure out a price point that benefits Microsoft, 4J, and Mojang, if they're feeling generous they'd fit all of the content creators in the Tekkit pack.
That's just the beginning of the Legal side, now lets look at porting content over. Vanilla Minecraft XBLA took a year or so, right? With Tekkit in it's current state it is LEAPS and BOUNDS more complex than Vanilla, I guarantee it'd take every bit as long and more than Vanilla took to port.
So, in the end it's not that 4J doesn't listen to us, they'd just not able to grant miracles. I didn't list half the battle it'd take to bring mods to Xbox 360 and already seems impossible.

I'm glad someone said this, I'd read the entire thread disappointed how the majority of our community believes 4J has such a monumental task on their hands, they don't. Time consuming on the other hand, yes, but that's still only measured by the developers ability.
4J does in fact have to rewrite almost the entirety of the games code, but they are in no way going into the development of this game blind. All features that will ever be available in this game have already been laid out on a table for them, so there's no creative juices to clog the development process, they have access to every note, stat, texture, and model ever logged by Notch, Jeb, and Dinnerbone about this game, so there is no guess work in every single line of code working in every exact way as its Java counterpart. Finally, Java isn't known for it's complexity, if a person has been educated in any form of advanced programming, which in this case is in game development, one would know that Java is a language that is little more than an after thought, it's more of a language you pick up as a hobby. Not saying Java isn't useful, it's just not the rocket science of programming languages.
Nothing against 4J, I've said it before that I have nothing but respect for them and this project, this game has the weight of a passionate community that trumps almost every other in size alone, they were crazy to even touch this game and I admire that about them. They have a lot on their hands with Minecraft XLBA I won't deny that, but not nearly has much as most of this community imagines. They have every aspect of the game laid out on a silver platter being spoon fed to them all they have to do is mimic it, which is the very first thing you're taught to do when entering the games development industry, that's year 1 for students. A lot of work, yes, not as much as most believe though.

I'm guessing we'll see it around Halloween.
That's my biggest gripe, Jeb and Dinnerbone are overjoyed to keep us in the loop, I'd love to see that kind of excitement on a daily basis from 4J.

Goo, thanks a lot for the tip, went from 37 to 74fps.
I'm honestly looking forward to this version of Optifine, with the performance increase from Mojangs side and than Optifine added on top of that, it's going to run beautifully. I really just miss my zoom button...

That's done in game I believe. The terrain image doesn't have transparency to it.

If you click on the file you want to link do not click the file name, just click anywhere on the line to select it. Then the blue bar at the top of the screen will change with a few options for getting a link, or downloading, which I did. ^^ That's also how you delete stuff.
Oh wow, that sounds awfully neat. Wish I knew anything about Bleach though. ^^;

Might I ask what program you're using to add a transparency to the sprites? I noticed they weren't 100% transparent so I went ahead and cleaned them up. ^^

Fryo// You have a good point, to add to it I'd say any Pokemon that as sleek and sharp as a Jolteon is going to be a nightmare to model in Minecraft.
Flareon on the other hand should be a breeze. <3
Aw, I can't see the Thunderstone for some reason.
Grethen// Can't wait to see how it turns out, looked awesome from what I helped on. ^^
Chaos// I say Koffing, can't go wrong with a Koffing. ^^

I'll get a couple more opinions and if you guy overally like it I'll dropbox it and create a Thunderstone sprite.

I'm going on 14 hours trying to figure this little guy out. I didn't win this one guys. =(
Fryo// That mod makes me incredibly happy. Fun fact about me, Turtles are my favorite creature ever!
