I tried several solutions to no avail...until I tried this
open a notepad document, paste this with your location for minecraft then save as a .bat file in the same location as your minecraft shortcut.
    java -jar -Xms512m -Xmx640m "C:\user\USERNAME\Desktop\minecraft\minecraft.exe"

if this still doesnt work try adding -relaunched to the end of the text

Because people aren't happy with MicroSoft concerning the following:

Fees concerning used games and trading games with friends.

    Design of the console.

    Internet verification every 24 hours.

    The price of the console.

    No backwards compatibility.

Just to clarify, Microsoft(Just like Sony) are not going to add fees to used games, they will allow developers to do so if they chose to.

The PS4 looks VERY similar to the Xbox One so design is moot.

Internet verification is designed to function on a slow connection(1.5Mbps, World average is 2.69Mbps) and even has a designated band that will function on mobile networks.

The Price is not much different( with the move and a year of PS+) The Xbox one allows every Gamertag on the console to have Live as long as one profile has live( thus making Live MUCH cheaper than PS+ if you have others that play on your console.

Backwards compatibility is only useful in the first few years of a new console, after those first few years when the previous gen is slowly phased out the backwards compatibility becomes less and less important. Most people no longer play Xbox or PS2 games...There is a reason that PS3 stopped backwards compatibility. It is a waste of resources in the long run.

how may stupid idiots are there? there is NO DDR5 it's GDDR5 which Is just the graphics version of ddr3. ddr3 is proper ram. xbox one does have a blu ray drive.

no used games means developers get more money. remember, minecraft used b indie.

you can lend your friends games if you have had them on your friends list 30 days.
the cloud means dedicated servers in all mp games.

The 24 hour thing is not bad honestly if u don't have Internet just get a 360.

if one account has gold on your console then all of them get it!

psn has to pay to go online now.

they should add system link really to minecraft xbox one

the no used games thing and 24 house thing means virtually no hackers. they won't be able to hide and will obviously banned quick.

xbox will be laughing in playstations face when they get hacked.

Finally another person who actually understands the implications of the new "restrictions" on the Xbox One, they are moving us forward not holding us back, And the Xbox One does not have to have a FAST internet connection, it will check in optimally on only 1.5Mbps Service the world average is 2.69 so yes the Xbox One will function perfectly fine on a slower connection.

Cloud computing is just marketing department word-wank. They could add cloud computing to Xbox 360 or PS3 tomorrow, the tech isn't in the box it's in the servers. ANY GAME WITH SERVERS USES "CLOUD COMPUTING".

Also, I'm not going to buy a new PC just to play Minecraft! I'd need a much greater list of reasons to upgrade, and I know the least I'd spend on a new PC would be about twice what PS4/Shone will cost.

Not quite, There is more to that than just connecting to servers, The console has to be programmed to function with the cloud. My entire Job is building networks, I know what I am saying

You're not alone. I am not some unreasonable ridiculous fan-boy, but to me it all comes down to value. The value for getting the exclusives I want (Minecraft XB1, Halo, etc.), the controller I like, the features and interface I am accustomed to, and the next generation power of the Xbox One (yes I know the Playstation 4 has more power in the box and is $100 cheaper) is still plenty enough value for me to gladly invest in an Xbox One. I would love to also own a Playstation 4 eventually, but the priority for me personally is still Xbox. I know that I am in a tiny minority in that, but that is okay. We don't all have to agree. I'm just sad that so many people are up in arms about their opinions right now.

We are notalone, quite a few people want the One over the ps4, the One has cloud computing that allows heavy tasks to be performed in the cloud, and thus making the xbox one more powerful, and only bare bones system is cheaper, the full package is 100 more than the xbox one. And not even psn is free now, they announced a 50 dollar online fee. And they have the same used game policy as xbox( they won't add fees to used games, but the publishers can decide to add them to the games they make) all in all xbox one to me at least is much better

But plenty of people do, and microsoft expects people to slowly migrate over, that is why they are supporting the 360 for the next few years. But i think sony is just switching over cold turkey, but i don't know for sure( or care for that matter) i like the xbox one and can't wait to see what minecraft can become with cloud computing and next gen hardware.

I don't care if it goes to playstation, i have always been xbox loyal, and after that press conference i am not changing anytime soon. Microsoft makes a console that i prefer, with better live, cloud computing, and better customer service.

I think that texture packs will exist on theXbox one, it is easier and makes more sense, perhaps we will get them on 360 as well, but at this point I would rather get them on Xbox One, being that I plan to switch over without much of a look back, why dwell on the old game when the new one has sooo much potential. However I will still play on 360 at least until it releases on the One, but i am not going to pay for a texture pack on the 360 edition. But hey maybe that is just me.

Xbox One edition is Awesome news. Microsoft was smart to do things the way they did, they are looking forward not playing it safe. This is risky but think about it, they realize that gaming generations are longer now, this means people spent more time and money on games, however, backwards compatibility is not a large enough market, this is why ps3 removed backwards compatibility and xbox 360 had limited backwards compat. How many people honestly plan on playing old games on a new system, within a few years the backwards compatibility won't matter, as people increase their library on the new consoles they won't care so much about the old one. As for cloud, Microsoft developed the One to work optimally with only 1.5 Meg connection, as a comparison the world average is about 2.69Mbps. Being a Network Admin, I know what i am talking about, internet connectivity is becoming cheaper and more available, and Microsoft is betting that in the next few years more people will be connected and a connection won't be such an issue for some as it is today, from a retrospective POV look back at 2005 when the 360 came out, did youhave connectivity, and if you did was it blazing fast...no, now more people have internet than ever before, and the xbox one is designed to work even with your phone as the connection point.

Technically if jailbreaking your phone is a felony, then just imagine what modifying a game means to 4J and Mojang and the intellectual property.

Like purple monkey said Texture packs are a work in progress and IDK but I doubt we will be able to create our own skins maybe on the Xbox Fusion or whatever they eventually decide to name it, but hey we should find out in the next couple of days

New idea! Quivers and those pouches that you put the musket balls in. I know Jeb rejected the idea l long time ago, but this would allow multiple types of arrows an musket balls in the game. Like flint arrows, obsidian arrows, diamond arrows, and iron arrows, and explosive arrows. They should make arrows retrievable too. Kill your target and they drop some of the arrows you shot into them. With musket balls, wood, stone, iron, and diamond, and explosive. You push left trigger while holding the quiver or pouch, and you choose which ammo type to put in the quiver or pouch. Only stores up to 64. You can only equip a quiver or a pouch, not both. The musket balls should not need gunpowder in the pouch. Also, how about with muskets, it has massive knock back.

This could be perfect for enchanting the arrows instead of just the bow, then we could have different arrows with different effects. you could hit a button on the d-pad to switch between arrows too.
