I have NEI installed, but these items do not show up in NEI. They do show up in the creative mode inventory search. I can create them from there, but they are all the same texture even though it shows that they can have just about any texture.
Have you ever considered collabbing with the OP of Voxelmap? and combining the two into one? or is he just purely competition? I would think, collabbing with him would kickstart faster the 1.8 version as his is 1.8 but hasn't been updated since the 1st release... Just a thought...
Hi RepoDraghon, Voxelmap has regular updates. The last 1.8 update was on May 4th.
Voxelmap updates about twice a month, but it doesn't have the amazing features that JourneyMap has and it requires Liteloader which only supports 1.8 (no 1.8.x versions).
I think JourneyMap is taking so long because the author wants 1) Quality and 2) Great features.
I wish Mojang would come through with the 'promised' mod api so modders don't have to go through all this hassle to update.
I think there are several mods that do this, but this is a feature embedded into larger mods. Dynmap is one I know of.
I like that this is a barebones mod though. It makes it easier to find (obviously you searched for one before hand and couldn't find one - I did too and took me ages to find that it was a feature of much bigger mods.)
And since it is small and well focused it can be updated much quicker than those larger mods.
I have found that you can use the mod to generate extra villages and then remove the mod and the villages will still exist. Works great with Minecraft Comes Alive too. You can also use the mod while doing pregen on a server - no crashes so far and currently up to 200 chunks.
One area of the world was causing crashes so I just avoided that area - generated the villages I wanted (distance 21 seems ideal) - removed the mod restarted the world and everything was fine. Villages still worked and since the mod uses vanilla blocks there was nothing missing.
Great mod! Hope to see a bugfix for the crashes when you have some more time to work on it =)

You can install Amidst and look at the seed yourself. The directions were correct.
Since you are on a Large Biome world you will have to go extremely far to get there. I don't believe I have ever tried to walk 16000 blocks in Minecraft, but I'm sure it would take more than 10 minutes. You can use the teleport command to reach the location to prove it for yourself.
Here is the teleport command to reach one of the locations: /tp -17862 100 -2918
Below is a screenshot showing the seed in Amidst and the same location within the current snapshot of the game: 14w32d.
The Mesa biome in the pictures is around -700, 100, 2250.
Just head South West of spawn - it will be the first mesa biome you find and this area was along the coast at the north end.
Info: I found it using an Autohotkey script that uses Amidst to search for worlds with the desired criteria. It may have more rare biomes, but I did not search for any others.

West about 15,000 blocks then South about 7,000 blocks.
If you regenerate the world with standard biome sizes then these biomes will be in the same positions only about 12,000 blocks closer to spawn.

Search Criteria:
All 6 of the listed biomes are within 4k of spawn, Mega Spruce Taiga appears to be the only one outside of 3k.
