    I've posted in this thread before but it's worth stating again that this company has been nothing but great. They have been there every single time I messed something up and needed help. Upgrades, downgrades, and even a complete install of Attack of the B Team and Direwolf20...twice! The server is always up and running and accessible. If you're considering a host, look no further.

    Poor grammar, sentence fragments, and "netspeak" doesn't bother me. It's not about isolating an age group so much as improving my odds against impatient behavior, lack of life experience, and the fact that the vast majority of teens will not be fans of Led Zeppelin. Jokes aside, it's safe to assume that each of us are slightly different in regards to standard behavior as it applies to online gaming. For me, the cut happens around 25 years of age, of course there are going to be exceptions but it takes so long to find them in a Mindcraft setting. Not all teens are "squeekers" and trust me, not all 40 year olds fall under the mature category.

    I don't believe that age is just a number. It's an identifier that represents, in most cases, what a persons life experiences could be. The vast majority of people would probably giggle at someone slipping and falling into the snow. Generally, your average ten to twelve year old will not have much experience with paying a mortgage. That being said, I love all four of my children, three of which are teens. But, at times, they seem to lack some of the social graces that are needed to fit into an adult conversation. There are exceptions when it comes to the way teens play the game, but just the sheer number of teens that play Minecraft will probably mean that the bigger percentage of trolling and greifing will come from that side of the camp. So, "older" players may tend to avoid those possibilities and stick with their own crowd. Just a thought.

    What got you interested in the server: I learned about Vanilla overhaul from a twitch live-streamer, and i started playing on their server but there weren't usually very many people on, so i decided i would try and find another server. I Googled "Vanilla overhaul servers" and BxB came up at the top so i decided i would check it out. I read the description and it looked exactly like the kind of servers that i love playing on.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Questions or comments about the server: Looks like a good server, can't wait to see if i'll get accepted.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    About me: I would like to keep my age a secret, for obvious reasons. I live in Australia and I am aware of the latency and lag that i will get, but i can deal with it. I can be a very creative person a lot of the time, but other times I just like exploring to find interesting things. I have quite a bit of experience with making good builds, but i am no expert, however, my creativity can cause me to create nice things sometimes, and other times it just makes me create random junk-heaps.

    Age is not usually a factor (within reason) when agreeing to allow people on the server. It mostly comes down to how someone behaves and how they treat the other players. Welcome to the server...see you on the map!

    Why are you interested in the server: I really enjoyed playing Vanilla Overhaul solo. Id like to play with a community so I can build bigger and better stuff.

    Questions or comments about server: None

    How did you hear about us: You're listed on AT Launcher's website under the "Find A Server" tab.

    About me: Been playing most of the big AT Launcher packs when they come out. Ive gotten a good handle on modded minecraft but it gets boring playing alone. Would be nice to have a community to spend time with.

    posted a message on My Not So Sad Survival Castle Anymore (Final Update Posted)
    I think you've done pretty good. I'm not a master builder or anything but you have some really nice things going on inside the castle. There are a couple of areas that are a little sparse, but it can all be spiced up with a little patience. In my opinion, pretty much everything you build is practice for the next thing you're going to build. You'll get better and better with each one. Cheers!

    I liked your idea Scum so I kind of borrowed from your layout and added a couple of other ideas to go with it.

    posted a message on What is the worst glitch you have ever seen?
    I can't remember the worst, but recently I was gathering wood (giant spruce) from my tree farm, and was moving in a straight line from one tree to the next. The next tree in line had not grown yet and was still just saplings so I tried to walk to the next tree. As I was walking that tree grew while I was passing through the saplings.....stuck....in tree.....dead! I had an ax in my hand at the time too. This may not be considered a glitch but I don't believe a tree should grow with me in the middle of it!!

    Quote from ORabbit

    Here's my rule: unless you're playing with or against other players--and thus have to follow a common set of rules to make the game fair and fun for everyone--the rules are all up to you, based on what makes you want to keep playing.

    Here's a scenerio for you: I am a working adult who has to care for a disabled family member. My time for gaming is very limited, and even when I have time, my energy is very limited. If all I want to do is spend an hour before bedtime riding a fake pixel horse around a fake pixel world, then that's what i want to do--not waste that hour trying to acquire a saddle by chance because some dude over at Mojang is too lazy to add a crafting recipe for saddles. So I go into creative mode and get that bleeping saddle, because it is my gaming time and I want to be able to enjoy it. I do try to limit cheats like that, because yes, it does get to a point that it spoils the game for me, but I'm a grown-up. I know what I like, gaming-wise. I just lost my diamond armor in the Nether yesterday. So I crafted iron armor to replace it until I mine more diamonds, rather than going into creative to get more. I enjoyed that. Hunting for saddles that I may or may not find? Not enjoyable. But that's just me.

    I use AMIDST as well because I have things I want to do in a very short amount of free time. I just want to have fun, not worry about what other gamers think is 'legit'. But if you feel like you enjoy the game more without using ADMIST, then cool. It's your gaming time--use it as you wish.

    I think this opinion is good. Having something that other players didn't have, or something that would give you an advantage over other players in a multiplayer scenario could be considered cheating. I don't have AMIDST, and I'm not real sure what it does exactly, but like I said before I will use a dynmap to find biomes if the server provides it. Given your situation ORabbit, it's completely understandable to play the game that way, it's the way that works best for you. I think, in the end, people will naturally play the way that is fun for them. It could be that the "cheating" aspect of it only comes into play when you factor in the multiplayer side of things. Either way, interesting debate.

    I wasn't trying to say or prove that amidst is a legitimate way to find things. It isn't "legitimate", Amidst certainly wasn't a intended way to find things in Minecraft. The only thing I was implying in that post was "You can do want you want with your world, don't get too concerned how other play."
    It really comes down to how important "legitimacy" is to the player. Some people like to cheat often while others wouldn't be caught dead cheating in Minecraft. Some of us are pretty flexible when it come to cheating and some of us aren't.

    Agreed, well put.

    Well, it's your choice. Anything anyone says is just going to be purely opinionated. I see nothing wrong with it personally. It's a sandbox game, it's your world. Don't let people tell you "You can't use these programs and you can't do things this way." Do want you want, how you want to do it. What you do in your survival world is your business.
    It's not always just "someone's opinion." You don't get these options with the standard version of Minecraft, they have to be added. I'm not saying what this person is doing is wrong, it's completely up to each individual on how they want to play. But, it is an aid to help someone find what they want without the normal "running around" method some people use.
    Quote from Alexcamostyle
    I use AMIDST. I don't think it's cheating as long as you get there legitimately.
    Let's say you want to find a Jungle biome. Wouldn't the "legitimate" way to find such a place be to grab some food and sword and start running? Or, load up some plugin and get the "cords" and run right to it? Not judging anyone just posing a question. Someone mentioned ruining the game with these things...I could see that. I personally use a dynmap, and sometimes I wish I would have just found these things on my own, but it can be frustrating just "running around" for an hour trying to find one Jungle sapling!!

    It's a game, play it to have fun. But, if you were to spawn into a new world, what options would Minecraft give you to find these things....none. The only exception being the use of Eye of Ender to "guide" you to Strongholds. I don't think it's wrong to use these aids for your own fun but a true vanilla server probably wouldn't allow them. Some people believe that the fun part of MC is the challenge of trying to find these things and surviving without the use of software or plugins. But, what's fun to you won't always be fun for someone else. Take care.

    For some reason, chest rooms are my favorite things to build in Minecraft. These were built in survival which is why some of them utilize a lot of cobble...lol. Some of these were not completely done at the time of the screen shot, but maybe someone can get an idea of their own by checkin' them out. Take care.

    Older one here...didn't need much room back then. This was built behind a painting on the was as well. Hidden.

    First version of my underground chest cave.

    Chest/Egg show-off room.

    The next two pictures are of a chest room that myself and Xandon44 worked on together. (Not finished)

    Simple Living room/Chest area

    The next two are from the chest room I built for my wife.

    Thanks for checking them out!
