posted a message on Minecraft Windows 10 Edition - mods ?

The MCP, which is what forge has been based off of for years was made with the cooperation of Mojang. Mods aren't just "cheats" or things "the developers didn't want added." They are additions to the game that made the game repeatable for many of us who had vanilla beaten years ago. Mods like Tinkers and the-like take the game to new levels for us. Yes it's infinitely creative, but only within it's parameters, which isn't enough for some of us.

To say something ignorant like "Most mods are nothing but cheats anyway" invalidated thousands of hours of work people with programming experience, have taken their time to do. Many of these popular mods have been downloaded over 10 million times and in the case of Tinkers, 20m, and obviously mean a great deal to some people.

Now, if you want an actual mod and not just a simple addon, yes Gunner is correct in the fact you probably wanna stick with the Java version.
I'm not gonna go into the monetize speech because MS did buy it and wants to make money off it, though making money off texture packs and such to me is silly, but that's just my humble opinion.

posted a message on [v1.8.2.3] SecurityCraft~ Security cameras, Retinal scanners, and more!

What an exciting and massive changelog, so glad to see you're still at it! I'm hoping 1.10x will be your first port.

(I play 1.10 and 1.11 but stats seem to suggest more people are still on 1.10.) Looking forward to more of your amazing work.B)

I totally agree plots should be within towns, but is there a way to simply allow access to anyone to join a town and create a plot within it's borders autonomously? So for example I create a town, give it a huge border, people create w/e inside their plots inside the town without me needing to invite or provide elevated permissions? From what I gather from the commands a person must be invited to a town. (Not complaining, I actually like this system far more than others now that I've read all the commands :P)

Somehow I missed all the /ta (admin) commands and was trying to circumvent the normal ones with mod privileges. Is there someplace we can find all the commands listed? (Though I've found most in-game via hover.) Now is there a way to allow a player to create a small plot out in the world similar to the way GP does it? Thanks a bunch. B)

So I've been a huge grief prevention for years, but I have a 1.7.10 forge modded server and been looking for an alternative.
My issue is I get the "Not enough room for X chunk(s)" when trying to claim additional. I'm one of the server admins so I'd like to
create a "town" around our spawn area to protect it ...But it's about 5 chunks in all directions.

posted a message on SiriusMC - Fuel, Utility, & Decor (Forge)

The majority of information can be found at my website at Sirius-Gaming.com

Sirius MC was created for the same reason every other mod has been, to add new features to classic MC.
But...I didn't want to be the modmaker who adds 50 sets of new tools blocks ores recipes and so on.
I wanted to be functional & balanced, while still providing novelty and fun.
    Thus SiriusMC was born!

    Features:
    • New Solid Fuel: Oil Shale - Better burn rate than coal, but found less often.
    • New Ores: Mithril & Lonsdaleite - Lonsdaleite is a real world material genuinely stronger than Diamonds
    • It's hard to find but with a full toolset with higher damage & durability than diamond, it's worth finding.
Mithril is a mythic ore only found in the nether and can be used to craft a new sword & bow!
    • Steel - A full steel armor set can be crafted by re-smelting iron, better than iron but not diamond worthy it's a good middle-ground!
    • Caution Blocks - Simply cosmetic they provide a nice warning stripe texture, included is a glass frame as well for your building.
    • Gem Glass - Created with glass and lonsdaleite this heavy glass block is blast resistant and simply smiles at TNT.
    • Iron Knives - A basic iron knife and a poisoned counterpart if you're short an iron ingot and just need a weapon.
    • (They also have some surprise effects!)
    • Hammers made from picks that can break a 3x3 are when sneaking for better mining.
    • Crops, Liquid Glowstone, forms of Concrete and more!
SiriusMC is packed with features, including a special Hammer that breaks a 3x3x1 area around the block you break when sneaking, allowing you to upgrade your iron and lonsdaleite pickaxes! (All materials and crafting patterns can be found Here On The Website.

    Current Versions:

    1.4-1.7.10 Forge 1230 - Found On Sirius-Gaming website.
    Sirius-Gaming.com
    1.4-1.8 Forge 1299

Thanks very much, went sniffing through the forge source in eclipse and noticed you can get meta from a state which it's its own var now.

Very nicely made honestly, just a pain sifting through the new stuff. I like the Vector3s they put in too, it's how I'm used to coding lol.

That was 1.8 beta, not 1.8.1 release nor is it a normal forge mod or bukkit plugin and would most likely cause issues. Also, GTS looks like he's using VeinMiner not this mod. This mod is insanely out of date.

Bad link, do you have another? Having the same issue with a different desired effect, having to do with particles.
Looked through the forge git but didn't see the methods list anywhere.
Need to get a blockstate, but that doesn't exist properly anymore.

posted a message on Random Texture on Block When Placed
The only quickfix alternative I would say would be create an array of IIcons and then register all the different textures to them.

Then inside the getIcon method use a random to decide which texture it'll return. Not the best way but it works.

    Quote from m8rboyยป

Did you even read my post?! I said I dont have the mod installed anymore and it still doesn't work! I UNINSTALLED it . So I'm in forge 1.7.2 without that mod anymore and it still doesn't work!

So you're saying you're using a forge version 1.7.2 with no mods and minecraft? isn't working? In that case you should remove that profile and re-install forge. If that doesn't work you need to look for help with minecraft and/or forge, not post in this thread.

Ya what he said. I went back to using buildcraft since they've got the colored pipes, but I'd still like something more, cable-y.
