Sorry for late reply was working on something but I really have no Idea why it would have just started... On your other computer did you accolate more RAM to Java? If so then you should accolate more on this computer. Other than that... I don't know, sorry.

I was running Minecraft on a mac mini (My desktop computer right now, also far less powerful) before but never had problems on it either and never had to change anything, I haven't changed anything on my new laptop either... it just randomly happened.
750 gigs of ram? You mean 750 GB of HDD? And Minecraft just works that way, every ehh. 2 seconds there is an autosave which makes it lag a lot. You can change that by getting Optifine and changing the settings. :\

So recently I got a new laptop and I've been using minecraft on it for more then a week now.
Everything was good, it handled Minecraft perfectly with the highest settings with absolutely no lag. Same story goes for my server, I've been using my own server with my friends for the longest time without any problems.
Then when I turn on Minecraft and my server, I start lagging ridiculously... Even when I put down my settings on the absolute lowest they can be, I still get the same amount of lag. Yet my friends don't experience this on my own server at all.
So I tested out to see if it was just the server but I get slightly less lag but still quite a lot of lag on Single Player. I never had this problem before, Minecraft always ran really smoothly and well but suddenly I got a massive lag attack.
I don't have any virus', my java is updated, have no mods, no programs running and even playing on the lowest settings it has the equal lag as high settings.
My specs are (On Samsung QX-411):
Windows 7 64-bit.
6gbs of ram
Intel 2nd Gen Core i5 2430M / 2.3 GHz processor
Optimus Nvidia Geforce GT 520M
750gb hardrive

I updated onto an Nvidia "beta" driver and it seemed to do the trick for now. Hopefully its a permanent fix.
I still don't understand why it lagged like that on the other drivers... Cause it worked fine before.
