Not trying to ask a stupid question.. even though to MC vets it may seem like one. I'm still relatively new (only started a few months back)

What is the command block? and where do you see it?

IT is simply a special block that runs whatever command you put into it whenever powered by redstone or set to always active. Mainly used for mapmakers.

Dude, a bootable antivirus scan does not require taking out the storage medium. You simply burn the bootable antivirus to a DVD, and turn the computer on with the DVD inserted. The computer should boot off of the DVD instead of the SSD.

Doesn't matter if the drive is internal or not, a bootable antivirus should be able to detect it and scan it(since most run off of Linux which has support for tons of filesystems).

If anything, the dude probably RATed your computer(explains remote access to your files and seemingly no threats detected), which means that a bootable antivirus would be required to remove the infection anyways.

Yes I just did a scan and didn't find anything.

But did you install a good firewall to block off attackers(Windows Firewall isn't that great at fending off attackers)?

Also, if the dude is still able to do these weird things to your world, then I suggest trying out a bootable antivirus scanner, which allows you to scan the computer without booting into Windows at all. Below is a website that has a list of some of the best free bootable antivirus scanners and tools. The website also tells you how to use a bootable antivirus scanner.

    https://www.lifewire.com/free-bootable-antivirus-tools-2625785

If that doesn't help and the problem keeps continuing, then you will need to completely reinstall Windows with a valid key, unless you are running Windows 10 which uses online activation.

posted a message on What do you feel about purchasing Xbox Live Gold/Silver to use the Minecraft Marketplace?

In this video at 3:19, it states that "An Xbox Live Silver or Gold account is required for purchases" because the whole Marketplace apparently uses library management across systems to allow you to access the content you've bought.

This seems like the first step in Microsoft attempting to lock out portions of the game to people that do not have Microsoft Accounts with Paid Xbox Live subscriptions. What do you guys think of this?

He is using an unknown or private/paid exploit against your server or has compromised your PC with a virus, giving him remote control over your server and possibly other files on the host. I suggest scanning the whole computer with an antivirus, installing a really good firewall, and using Spigot since it has some protection against exploits like this.

Also have yoir friend scan his computer for viruses and install a firewall, just incase the dude compromised both of your PCs.

posted a message on Minecraft lags although i have the specs.

Sell your current computer and get a new one, since it has one of the worst intel CPU types. The 'U' type of intel chips throttle down to a measily 798mhz and a single core when they detect they are using up too much power, which is not even enough to run any basic program(including the OS itself) and is the reason for Minecraft being stuck at a solid 30FPS your computer. The reason PC manufactures still use this faliure of a chip type is because it is in-expensive and allows them to blame the throttling on you treating the computer bad, or tell you that your computer is 'old and slow' and encourage you to pay more money for a new one that is 'faster' and has the same issue.

Long story short, don't use ANY computer or laptop when the name of the intel chip has a 'U' at the end.

Banned from an anything goes clan PvP server because we befriended the Server Admins, infiltrated their base and took their god tier weapons... it should be noted that the admins regularly did this to other clans, so we gave them a taste of their own medicine, as they never suspected someone would bring down the Admin clan lolololol.

Sounds like the Admins were either young children or very triggered if they banned you for raiding their own clan.

ok where can i get this launcher. also how do i install it

Search it up on google. Also, no installation is required, you just have to extract the contents to a folder and run the MultiMC exe file.

Use a 3rd party launcher like MultiMC. It runs better and is far more stable than the current launcher.

Mojang thought that making the official launcher more modern and looking like a mobile app was for the better, but they managed to mess up big-time.

posted a message on Is Minecraft Dying...?

It isn't dying, and it isn't booming either. The game is neutral at this point. Sure, people are going to say "OMG the game is dying!" when they get bored or a new update comes out. But that has been going on for years now. Also, Mojang could release a 2.0 update if they wanted which could make the game popular again if it contains really great and unique features.

    Quote from HotoyPlays»

    what do you mean?

The new Minecraft Launcher basically uses the Chromium Browser to display everything, which is included in that .dll file the error is complaining about. You need to redownload and reinstall the launcher to fix this. And before you ask, it does not use your current browser, Google Chrome, so don't go uninstalling that.

posted a message on The wonders of 1.11 hunger!

I was actually inbetween, but since there is not an "I don't know" option, I chose yes.

This was because te exhaustion rate for various actions was reduced, which means that you will be going through less food, and that you can actually walk for a lot longer distance with little hunger remaining(helps greatly with 2B2T exploring as well). Some may think tat is OP, but the Regeneration exhaustion being increased makes up for the buffs, which also means that you can't be reckless in fights and take lots of damage while relying off of a Golden Carrot to restore a lot of your health while running.

The embedded chrome browser that the launcher uses(libcef.dll) is corrupt. You have to re-download the installer and let it download all over again.
