Tried writing a diary post from the POV of Steve through my playthrough of my first real Hardcore map, in the style of the NPC Diaries of Skyrim published on PC Gamer. Go easy on me.
Day 1: I must have gotten really drunk last night. I woke up in the middle of the desert, nothing in my bag, and wearing the same clothes I was wearing the night before. But that's what happens after spending a month on a trip building houses for the needy without any alcohol... and then coming back on your 24th birthday. Despite the short term amnesia, I had to find a way back home.
I knew nothing of where I was and couldn't find any type of tracks in the sand explaining how I got to what would become my new home. Though I didn't know it as i started my journey, i didn't have much time. I thought back to the training i had in Boy Scouts and the basic tips I had learned through reading survival books on my back packing trips, and started looking for water. Seeing nothing but sand in every direction I decided to walk west, with the sun, so I had a definite direction to look back to. Hours passed. I tried using a cactus for food and water to no avail. Finally, soaked with sweat and through the dust and drear of a half days walk in the heat, I spotted a town... I started running. I didn't get much further than a few feet until the pain of hunger really set in. Even though i felt as if i was pushing myself to death i kept running and quickly reached the small town. Thank Notch it wasn't a mirage. I rushed past the buildings and grabbed at the first plant in their farm neglecting the locals completely and sunk my teeth into a fresh carrot, not even bothering to wash it off first. After two or three of these carrots I finally took notice of the staring eyes and confused whispers around me.
I couldn't understand anything that was being said! Where was I? I spoke to a few and got nothing but them shoving goods at me and demanding emeralds. I wanted to go home, get in bed, get over this hangover, but it was starting to get dark, and knew i needed to stay the night. I finally managed to convey that I needed to spend the night and a village in white robes opened his door to me and seemingly invited me in. I'm not sure how I was able to understand but he seemed to invite me to stay for as long as I needed as long as I pitched in.
After a confusing hour or so with the bizarre group of villagers, I decided I wanted to walk over to the neighboring stream to wash up(a welcome sight after the hours of desert previously). A clean body was the only way i was going to get through sleeping on the floor of the strong but humbly made sandstone huts. As i made my way to the stream, barely after the sun started going down, my new roommate started yelling loudly at me and kept closing the door as i tried to leave. I finally pushed my way through to a barren city center which had been bustling with life not one hour ago, before sunset. I walked just outside of the town and stepped into the stream underneath a towering trees long reaching cover where I closed my eyes to think. Cows grunted as they settled down for rest. Sheep bleated at each other, trying to grab the last piece of grass. I slipped further into my mind reminiscing of my bed at home which I hadn't seen in a month. Thoughts of the lack of technology in this strange town trickled through my mind while I was whisked into a light sleep until I heard a distinct Sssssssssss....

The server uses 1 Gb of Ram. Here are the minimum and recommended requirements for the game.

CPU : Intel P4/NetBurst Architecture or its AMD Equivalent (AMD K7)
RAM : 2GB
GPU : Intel GMA 950 or AMD Equivalent
HDD : At least 90MB for Game Core and Sound Files
Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 or up is required to be able to run the game.
Recommended Requirements:
CPU : Intel Pentium D or AMD Athlon 64 (K8) 2.6 GHz
RAM : 4GB
GPU : GeForce 6xxx or ATI Radeon 9xxx and up with OpenGL 2 Support (Excluding Integrated Chipsets)
HDD : 150MB
Software Requirements:
Minecraft Release 1.2.5 or newer. Older versions will need to be updated to current versions
Java (Java SE 6 Update 32 or Java SE 7 Update 4 or newer is preferred)
Please note that some users experience issues playing Minecraft while using a mismatched version of Java for their operating system (32 or 64 bit), while using certain versions of Java 7, or while multiple versions of Java are installed
So it shows that you should have at minimum 3GB of Ram and a recommended 5GB

YES. The better your internet speed the better your connection will be with your friends.

Yes again! You will need to forward the port 25565 on your router which can be done on router settings.

SECURITY. The biggest issue with hosting your own server is the fact that people will be able to connect to your internet. You have to give out your IP address in order for people to get a hold of your server. Make sure you know the people who are connecting and make sure whoever is in charge of your internet (your parents, a roommate etc...) is okay with that. Otherwise Have Fun.

This question gets asked a lot, and I am not going to repeat what everyone else says. Read the other posts about how you need to be original and consistent.
What I want to talk about is how to keep the views you are getting and turing them into subscribers.
I have a small channel of 31 subscribers, and a little over 2000 views. Not great youtube star quality, but also not bad for only getting that in the two weeks that I have had my channel. So how did I do that, and how am I hopefully going to keep those numbers rising? I am going to do this by being interactive.
1) Get comments on your videos. Likes are great, and they get you better placement in search results, but comments let you know people are really paying attention to the video. Ask for comments. Take note from the comments and try to do some things the audience says. And finally respond to the comments. Make yourself a personality, and don't just rely on the game.
2) Help out the viewer. Who do you subscribe to? Why? Copy them. Seriously. If you subscribed to someone because they taught you how to use redstone, do a series about redstone, and teach people how to use it. If you subscribe to someone because they showed off different maps you were thinking about playing, then do that. Don't steal there stuff, but recreate the things that got you interested in them.
3) Collaborate. Every single great youtuber you can name has another member of his or her clique you can name as well, Why is that? Humans are social creatures and we feel the need to interact. Seeing multiple people play a game makes you feel as if you are a part of it too. You also will look forward to posting your videos and not get discouraged in the first month.
It is easy to start a youtube channel; it is not easy to continue it. Look at every view as an opportunity to create a fan base. Look at every subscriber as a challenge for you to continue good work. HD video and good audio only get you so far. You need them, but don't forget that many viewers look at you as a service to them. So make the viewer feel like they are getting something out of it.
