posted a message on How 'big' is your favorite MC world?
    Quote from leangreen76»

My main world (In my sig) is apparently 2.02GB, I say apparently as last time I uploaded it I'm sure it was around 1.35GB - but that's what it says in the folder right now. Being a 7 year old world though, some new things I have to travel extra, extra far to get/find whether that be by land/horse/donkey/boat or portal.

My main world is not as old as yours, but I have the same environment, with particular resources generating in further out areas that were generated under later updates. That situation does make for at least a diverse world, because in any world 'story', different regions have resources which justify a trade system. Otherwise pretty much everything that a player may want can be gotten with a short range.

Each world you have is an individual folder inside the saves folder, so it the size of those folders which is the size of each world.

posted a message on How 'big' is your favorite MC world?

How big is your favorite Minecraft world? Mine is about 750mb for a world that is roughly about 12k by 10k blocks. That is the size of its core, the bit I actually build on and develop.

Beyond that I did wonder off to find a Mansion, and that added a large amount to the over all size (for territory I don't really need) inflating the size up to 1.2gb. Pruning that is a topic for another thread perhaps. But taking my worlds actual useful size, it is about 750mb. So I am curious, how big are other players core world on disk?

This issue has been on my mind since a player told me that size of a world does not matter. But that is only true if you have no plans to upload it to a Mojang realm account.

posted a message on World Glitches With Render Distance Over 8

Maybe 32 is too much for you graphics card to handle? I experience similar symptoms when I over reach with my own machine, which is very probably less powerful then yours. At my max render distance my system also fails to visually render sections of terrain. Making sure you have latest Java version is the first step to understanding what your computer can handle.

Because my own computer is not powerful, it is sensitive to loads that push the CPU.There is always a marked drop off in Minecraft's graphics performance if Windows is running some background task as I am playing, like a scan or checking for updates.

Nudged off a cliff by a sheep.

Dropped into a cave under a river without a shield and lost 30 levels to a single skeleton.

Wiped out an underground city by accident when trying to use a command to clear more space next to it.

Forgot to put a torch in a single village house, and all villagers got killed by a spawned zombie, after I had spent ages putting a wall around the village.

Dug myself into a pit which two creepers fell into.

Jumped off a mountain, forgot my Elytra.

... the list goes on...... :/

posted a message on Which minecraft is better ? jave or win10 version ?

Java and the other versions have diverged, so it depends on what you want. Personally I am happy with Java. Despite its occasionally buggy performance, I like how it allows users as much control as they want over their game experience. eg A little or a lot, depending on how much the player wants to learn or do. Having heard some tales of some Xbox players experience with the new update, I am happy to sort out my own backups and rely on my own and community knowledge of the Java game to keep things going.

posted a message on Pink sheep common in 1.12.1? Am I this lucky?!
    Quote from ZomBKiller_10»

I swear this is freaking me out i just spawned and i already saw like 10 pink sheep. Does it have to do with me playing with optifine? I created another world but that one didnt have any pink sheep. The seed is -5736348399150288665 I made a copy of the world and theyre still there!!! AM I THE LUCKIEST PERSON IN THE WORLD?!

I noticed this too. I recently expanded my world (as I do when each a new update comes out), and yes, there are way more pink sheep now. I have not counted precisely, but roughly the ratio of pink to white is between 1 in 12 to 1 in 15 in new areas, though the new areas I added are mostly restricted to mountain and roofed forest biomes.

So whatever the ratio is 'supposed to be', its not.

posted a message on Dropco World Project

I am busy with my own world and another project, but your builds are really well designed. The first one is my favorite, I like builds that sit nicely in a landscape. I also really like the steep foundations of the second pictures, really add to the great structure on top..

posted a message on Solid polished granite Menkaure pyramid in survival

Very nice. I am impressed with the fact you chose an offset angle for the construction, so looking forward to seeing how that looks. Should be more interesting than the standard pyramid we usually see guys like me usually try and do. Also that you are using granite is interesting, I find it hard to create any build with that block and make it look good.

    Citadel of Galleon.

This build is an Elytra/war map, with the enemy coming from the north, and the Skyships of Galleon rising to meet them in battle. A good bit more more to do, but custom spawners and scoreboard battlefield missions are being put in now.

This build has accidentally ticked a couple of boxes for me. One big one is that I always wanted to build something like the castle of Valentine Pontifex, as drawn by Josh Kirby, and it has done that.

1+2 the citadel of Galleon. 3. The forces of the Augerok attacking the Sanctuary of N'r
