when i first saw this, it looked cool. it seemed similar to the grid pack i used way back in beta 1.7.3. and i really want to like it, but there's some things that look... stupid. i like a lot of the simpler blocks, but the ones that try to get too complicated (without achieving the intended look, no offense) such as the lapis all the ores, the minecart, etc. just look odd.
i could live with everything though, if i removed the mob modifications. they look... T.T

i still want to like it though. i just think some of the blocks are trying too hard to have super details inside 16x.

Unfortunately, I have to say that I agree with you completely. I'm torn between not wanting things to just be palette swaps of the same pattern, and having things get overcomplicated like you mention. Lapis in particular I've never had a solid idea for, so it remains kind of awkward. The things with more complicated models (carts, boats, mobs, whatever) are also an issue because of the way the textures are applied (legs are just mirrored for instance, which makes the fake perspective impossible to achieve). Some of them I'm quite proud of (ghasts), some of them not so much (zombies).
I appreciate your feedback and as I'm updating for 1.4 I'll make sure to look back over the things you mentioned and, hopefully, improve them.

Edit: I should add, of course, that if you don't like specific parts you can always remove them! :D

While I'm not fond of most simple texturepacks, I like this one. Simple, clear & bright and adds something extra with the pseudo 3D effect.

Thanks! 1.4 update should be posted some time soon.

Put simply, you can't. The only way to destroy blocks is by explosion; loading it with TNT isn't really cost-efficient, so you would have to hook it up to a mob spawner and filter out the creepers. Even then you need to sit in the mechanism to trigger the creepers.

Anything solid (so not glass, fence, slab, etc); brick would work fine.

If you'd rather not have a visible piston you can do it like this; the lamp is necessary to update the piston.

The principle you've discovered is that a powered dispenser will fire whenever it receives a redstone update. Unfortunately, a 3-clock with torches will burn out; better to use repeaters. Here's a toggleable 2-clock dispenser:

If you only want half and half, this is relatively simple. The lamps are just to block-update the pistons

You can do it like this too. It is a known method, but congrats on figuring it out for yourself. ^^

Pistons were added in the 30th of June 2011, over a year ago.

I think they're referring to the XBox version.

It can be as wide and as long as you want. Just keep repeating the pattern in either direction and it all hooks up.

will do exactly what you want. Just set the repeaters between each row to full if you want it to travel slower.

You can only power a block from underneath with a redstone torch, which would burn out if you pulse it too fast; instead, you have to power it from the side, which the above design and my own do. In my case the repeater powers the red block, then the dust on top powers the sandstone supporting the door.

Here's a simple one. All you need to do is power the blue block. I used a lever, but you can run a wire into it or whatever you want. This toggles the clock, which powers the block underneath the door by way of the wire on the red block. As long as you have a door frame and a floor it's completely hidden. There's a torch on the side of the blue block, in case you don't notice it.

This is probably the best simplistic texturepack I've ever seen. Although the leaves and cactus cause my OCD to flare up, I still love it.

Is there anything in particular you don't like about them? I'm always open to suggestions. Either way, I'm glad you liked it. ^^
