Now, my computer is organised so that the C drive is for system related stuff only- all games, documents, pictures, various programs, etc, are installed in the D drive.
So why is it that minecraft, despite me installing it in the D drive with the rest of the games, insists on keeping a lot of its files in roaming, under users, which is kept in the C drive? This uses up valuable space in the C drive which should be reserved for system use, and makes it more annoying to find the minecraft files/libraries/etc.
To me it seems to be very bad design, to essentially take away a users choice of where a program and its files are kept on the computer.... which is a shame, because otherwise I really like minecraft & mojang.
Is there any way to change it so that minecraft, and all of its install files/etc, are kept in the actual part of the computer that I actually specified as its install directory, instead of clogging up my C drive?

Oct 15, 2011Anyone else gone into the ender (I did it on creative) and flown around, looking at every single enderman in the ender, until you had a huge army of endermen following you around?Posted in: 1.0 Update Discussion
(I then accidentally led the entire population of endermen of a cliff.... does that make be a bad person?)
Oct 14, 2011Spawngiirl posted a message on Anyone else notice the past few updates are stolen mods? It's mojangs game, and the legal text around the code/modding actually allows them to take whatever mod ideas/code they want for use in minecraft.Posted in: Discussion
Also, just because some modder made something, doesn't mean mojang shouldn't use it. Its not where it came from that matters, but whether its a good idea or not.
Also, that letter someone sent.... was pretty arrogant/loserish/downright rude. He didnt just rage againt mod "stealing", but violently disagreed with lots of features.
Its not his place to say "Breeding? NO! YOU CANT PUT BREEDING IN!". That letter presents opinions as ultimatums.
Oct 14, 2011Bug Name: Dying in Ender made me Respawn at a new spawnpoint, above a square lakePosted in: 1.0 Update Discussion
Details: Went into ender on my creative map, when I jumped into the void to die so I could escape the ender, instead of respawning at my original spawnpoint, I respawned at a new spawn point, in a completely different area of the overworld, above a perfectly square lake.
System: Windows 7 x64
Oct 3, 2011To the person talking massive distances.... that just isnt practical/fun in the minecraft setting. Sure, in real life, you wouldnt even be able to see the enemy... but how the hell would that work in minecraft? I think the fights should all be within render distance ideally.Posted in: Requests / Ideas For Mods
Also.... this brings up a big question..... how would spaceship weaponry work? Im thinking it would need turrets (railguns?) that can rotate and fire as players direct them.... even turrets that can all be slaved together to a single control console and aim/fire as a battery. All devices (engines, turrets, control consoles, shield arrays, etc) should need to be connected to power conduits, leading to reactor blocks. You would place multiple reactor blocks in a room in a large ship, immersed in water to keep them cool, and surrounded by something as strong as obsidian (because if the enemy ship breaches the core and destroys a reactor block, they explode violently)
So, weapons? I would go with-
Railgun Turret (Large, slow rate of fire, long range, powerful shell, needs ammunition and a fairly decent amount of energy)
Laser Turret (Medium, fast turning, continious fire, quite energy intensive, but no need for ammo)
Flak Turret (Small quad turret, low calibre, tiny ammo, innacurate, short range, just fills the sky with lead, requires very little energy)
Missile Tube (Basically looks like a torpedo tube but for your spaceship, needs to be loaded one missile at a time, fires it in a straight line and just keeps going till it hits something, then explodes like tnt. Loadable by a redstone powered loading device)
small arms (handheld weapons for players to use)
Oct 3, 2011The point of the volcano is- volcanoes dont just emerge randomly. They are a geographical feature, a mountain, that can erupt sometimes. When you build there, you know its a volcano, you know it could erupt at any time, just like when someone builds their house in hawai. People will still build there, because its just damn cool to build on a volcano, and it has lava in it, and likely alot of cave potential.Posted in: Suggestions
Oct 2, 2011Well hurricane= short duration, high winds, just blows anything loose around in the area, the central hurricane part itself damages anything wooden in a small radius that moves aroundPosted in: Suggestions
Earthquake= short duration, has aftershocks, makes ground shake, anything loose vibrates around, damages stuff low to the ground in an area
volanco= would be an actuall biome with a big mountain that has lava, which sometimes overflows from the top, biome has ash clouds for weather
lightning storm= big storm, high frequency of lightning strikes
tidal wave= big wave from the water, floods in, mostly just drowns everything in water, then recedes back to normal levels. (None of the incoming water is water source, just normal temp water)
fog= fog, obscures vision, happens after rain
Oct 2, 2011Nice fusion of western castle design and middle eastern pyramids.Posted in: Screenshots
I would advise you try a texture pack, it would make it look alot better. I would recomend the 64x64 or 128x128 version of the photorealism pack, looks really nice and realistic.
Also, still would benefit from wall details/arrow slits (windows)

I.E. if I put in the seed of my world and generate a new world using that same seed, will the new world be identical, or will the increased height affect how it generates terrain?Posted in: Minecraft Mods
Oct 1, 2011Spawngiirl posted a message on [1.1.0/1.0.0]Fishtaco's mods - Better Caves, FPS++, Height mod!!I have a question, as the description is slightly confusing- can we or can we not use it on old worlds?Posted in: Minecraft Mods
Also, if I was to put the seed from my old world in a new world using this, would the increased height have any effect on the world generated, or would the world be identicle but with the new height?
Sep 30, 2011Spawngiirl posted a message on [WIP](Huge build) Trade Federation Control Ship from Star Wars Episode IPosted in: ScreenshotsStar Wars ships are all stupidly massive. A standard, normal, run of the mill Imperial Star Destroyer is like a mile long, and Vader's Super Star Destroyer was 11 miles long!
Compare that to the Enterprise D from Star Trek, which was considered a massive ship in Starfleet (and future designs would be smaller) was little over half a mile long.
Star Wars Ship sizes are pretty reasonable. The main reason they are so much bigger than star trek ships is because the star trek universe is so much smaller/less populated. Only a tiny, miniscule fraction of the worlds in star trek are inhabited. In Star Wars, the galaxy is much further along in the civilisation timeframe, and as such is absolutely teeming with life. Instead of just a handfull of human worlds to draw construction materials/crew/personel from, and to defend/patrol/intimidate, theres hundreds of thousands of them, so you can make much bigger ships, and more of them in such a setting. (The star wars settings population density/size might sound unrealistic, but its actually fairly accurate if you take into account the theory that galaxies/universes can fill up with life in a few hundred million years)
Anyways, on the build, that thing looks fantasic. Too bad your going to lose a bit of detail due to scaling issues, but other wise can't wait to see it fully made. Will it have a detailed interior? Or at least detailed hangar interiors?

Jul 22, 2011I think permadeath just means you lose all of the experience, not your entire world save...... unless its an option for increased difficulty. It wont be a staple of the core game if it means losing the entire save.Posted in: News
