Do i really need 64bit OS if i just use 128x? i know that the ram is problem but i wont reinstall the system :biggrin.gif:

You don't NEED it, but it helps a lot. What you do NEED though is at least 3Gb of RAM in a 32bit OS... that will also help, a lot.

You talk about the char2.png... It's randomobs which randomize the character skin. "char.png" is still the same (red bandana, blue eyes and blue pants). :wink.gif:

Yeah, I figured that out in the end thanks to some other members. I think I have seen others since then as well. I hadn't used randomobs up until now, so I wasn't sure what to expect... I didn't even realise the pack supported it, which it does obviously, and that's just awesome :biggrin.gif:

posted a message on NPC LISTING : CITIZENS MOD - by fullwall
    Hi guys,

I am making this thread for use in fullwall's CraftBukkit mod called CITIZENS.
You can find the mod here: BUKKIT FORUMS

This is simply a list of usernames with the current description of their skin.
Names are listed via forum search, where users have thier IGN listed only. Submitted names are also listed. Players from my server are also listed with their permission.

The description of the skin may or may not be accurate, as it was the skin at the time the name was added.

Names are case sensitive... so make sure you create them CAREFULLY or the result will be, not what it should be.

Try things like Notch, or Herobrine as well :biggrin.gif:

    MALES:

SoldjahBoy - ME! A zombie in a white suit
frosty - Robot or android of some sort
    Joymo - Duke Nukem
    AnewAaron - guy in suit
    TheDarkStar - creeper (sort of)
    Geecku - Creeper
    Shoigun - Tron suit?
    Giik - some trendy bloke
    seekercat - weird looking guy
    Yamatsukami - Japanese dude
    MakaHearts - Spiderman
    Kraiten - Bloodied Herobrine
    WingOfWar - Modern Warfare Soldier
ThePengu - A charming chap wearing a monocle

    FEMALES:

    Raecchi - Steampunk
Amber - that girl from pokemon
MizLiv - chick in a hoodie
AngelGirl737 - Girl in white armour
SuccubusQueen - Sexy girl in pink and purple gothwear

Contributions are welcome, submissions also welcome.

I will be adding to this as I go... hopefully the list will eventually contain some "custom" accounts for generic NPC types, like BLACKSMITH, and SHOP KEEPER... things like that. I will have to physically purchase those accounts and skin them accordingly. Again, any contributions are welcome! If you want to donate or something to help, PM me and we can discuss it. I will be doing this is there is enough interest.

posted a message on Player "Needs"
    As name suggests:

Figures for health reduction and penalties etc are just a figure I have plucked out of the air. Don't read too much in to them. for the sake of "balance" I'm sure it can be improved upon, but its 3am and I'm just writing down the general concept.

SOME OF THESE IDEAS ARE REDUNDANT (like drinking) BUT I WILL LEAVE THEM IN HERE ANYWAY

    LEGEND/GLOSSARY:

"A day" - Means one game day and night cycle. IE "24 hours" in a game day.

Eating or drinking X times per day - Does not mean you have to eat or drink by the clock. You could (for example) wait longer and consume more at a time rather than spacing it out. This would be less "time consuming" for those of you who are too impatient to click a button once in awhile. and allow for a bit of flexibility.

    - Food/Hunger indicator : Give more use for food!
NORMAL MODE - Eat once a day to maintain your hunger level
HARD MODE - Eat three times a day to maintain your hunger level
***** PEACEFUL MODE - You don't have to eat. Enjoy all that food clogging up your storage inventory you so dearly adore instead of using it up like a real man... since having to carry food on you will ruin your inventory. Wait what?
[>>-i>] Being well fed means everything is normal
[>>-i>] Being hungry means your maximum health is dropped by 2-3 hearts, digging/mining is slowed slightly
[>>-i>] Starving means your max health is dropped by half, digging/mining, and walking is slowed.

    - Water/Thirst indicator : Have a drink to replenish. Drink from your bucket or directly from a spring.
NORMAL MODE - Drink twice a day to maintain your hydration level
HARD MODE - drink five times a day to maintain your hydration level
***** PEACEFUL MODE - You don't have to eat.
[>>-i>] Being fully hydrated means everything is normal
[>>-i>] Being thirsty drops 2 hearts from your health
[>>-i>] Being dehydrated has same effects as starving

Other effects that may/could apply (again, just plucked out the air... not to be taken as gospel)

POSITIVE EFFECTS (from being well fed AND well hydrated)
    - Deal double damage to enemies
    - Run and dig slightly faster
    - Gain 2 extra hearts (non permanent)

NEGATIVE EFFECTS (from being starving AND dehydrated)
    - Vision goes blurry and/or controls go a bit wonky simulating a stumbling effect
    - Deal half damage to enemies
    - Walk and dig very slowly
    - Maximum hearts reduced to 3

:Red: - Health : You have 10 hearts at the start. I propose being able to increase this by either consuming a certain food or potion. The effect would be permanent, but if you die you go back one "upgrade"

For example - You eat a "life fruit" (let's just make something up for the sake of an example) and you gain one extra heart. Now you have 11 hearts. Eat another and you have 12. Die, and you go back to 11. This could be a better use for a golden apple?

:Blue: - Armour : Better armour should have more armour points. The current system is a little confusing since there are 10 armour points no matter what armour you wear, and it fills up to the top no matter what armour you wear. I know it deteriorates at different rates based on damage... but having more and less points would make more sense in my opinion.

Also, better armour should also add some other benefit to the player in order to convince them using their hard earned diamonds on something they might lose by falling in lava. I suggest adding some kind of "stat" bonuses, like extra hearts, eat less often, drink less often... providing the other parts of this suggestion are considered.

    AS SUGGESTED BY COMMENTERS:
This play mechanic could be left completely as it is now if you are on PEACEFUL MODE. On NORMAL mode, the mechanic could be roughly how it is stated here, and on HARD mode you may have to eat three times a day etc... like in real life.

[EDIT 1] (first of many I'm sure)

To people who complain about the food taking up too much space in your inventory... think outside of the little box you are currently living in. Minecraft is unlimited, and you thinking should be too.

Here is a potential solution for said "wasted space":

    :|: = String
    :Ham: = Leather/Cow Hide

    [] :|: []
    :Ham: [] :Ham:
    :Ham: :Ham: :Ham:

A food bag. Put all your food in that, and it can open up like a crafting table style menu where you can access the things inside. Not a hard thing to come up with.

I am trying to promote creative thinking here people... instead of saying "It's crap because it would be boring." why not add something to that... like "It's crap because it would be boring, but if it was like (THIS) or (THIS WAS ADDED TO HELP) instead, it would be way cooler."

    [/EDIT 1]

    Thoughts? Opinions?

    Here is my idea:
Make more types of food before adding a hunger bar. Add some types that are really hard to make but after making it you could go longer without eating. That way, even in late game, it is a challenge to make better food so you don't need to eat as much.

I don't have much to say on the thirst bar except that we should get a new recipe: waterskins. It could be two cowhides on top of each other to make it and you fill it by collecting a water source block. Then you can drink from it five times, or three times, this can be balanced later.

Lastly, the "hunger indicator" would not specifically be a little bar on the screen that slowly depletes. Last time I checked, I don't have anything like that to tell me I am hungry, though my stomach starts rumbling and if I ignore that long enough I start feeling tired and weak. Similar ways of implementing a hunger "indicator" could be done in the game, such as stomach noises, the screen going slightly fuzzy around the edges, or some other visual queue.
