bump, having the same problem. Going from Normal Notch Server to Bukkit makes bukkit/craftbukkit have alot of [SEVERE] messages. Though everything is fine in normal in Vanilla Minecraft Server.
I have a AMD Dual Core 3Ghz CPU, 32GB SSD and 8GB Ram and have the feeling this isn't enough for 10 people.
I have just tried with 1 player (set the server up today) and the CPU spiked at 40% sometimes and have a 2GB RAM use. (Not sure it's supposed to be like this but all is fresh install with Bukkit and no plugins.)
So hosting 45 people on the parts you found I strongly doubt.
Hi, I am doing some testing myself with multiplayer server.
Computer specs:
AMD Dual Core 3GHz Processor
8GB Ram
32GB SSD Harddrive
Freshly installed Windows Server 2008 R2
No Graphic card, which makes me ask: "Do I need a good Graphic Card?" Because I don't see how that would matter as it is only running the server (non-gui).
Currently running Bukkit server with minecreaft version 1.3 Beta.
When I play on the server blocks will reappear. Also I am noticing that the CPU is really spiking with only one player on it. (Haven't tested with more players for the moment, will test more tomorrow).
Anyways, do you guys have any suggestions as to why the blocks reappear, and why my CPU is spiking so much?
I think it is really wierd that Minecraft is taking up so much memory and CPU when it is such a low graphic game. Maybe Java isn't the best programming language to code in.
I do know that my CPU isn't the best out there (far from it) but if I where to put anymore juice in this server it can almost compete with gaming pc's that can play games such as WOW, Half Life, GTA IV and other big games. (Except for the Graphics Card offcourse).
Proboly alot to take in here but I just wanted to get a load of my chest and see if you guys can help me in my struggle with a Minecreaft Multiplayer Server.

Has Notch made a comment on the bug thing? Would assume he would fix in right away?
