I made my stronghold in SSP into a museum. I looked on the Wiki for the unusual and unique characteristics of strongholds and made sure to keep at least one copy of each. I improved the whole thing by sealing off dead ends and added a ton of torches.
I guess I haven't restored it to its former glory but I have jazzed it up somewhat and made an effort to make it look more aesthetically pleasing.

I found a stronghold the other day. I was quite happy about it :'3
Now, as I was strolling through this stronghold. I was noticing how nice the building actually is. Despite it being cracked and covered in moss.
My question is, has anyone ever repaired a stronhold to it's former glory? I mean, those places are absolutely gorgeous, to be honest. If my stronghold had a nice outside entrance, and all the moss was gone and the cracks were gone, proper lighting and no more holes.. I think the stronghold could be a really nice place!
And with only a max of eight slots, with saddles nonstackable, most of these posts indicate a double dungeon, which, has two chests unless you're a lucky ******* and get a double chest which is extremely rare. I feel like compiling a list of fakes right about now. If you want you're name of the list, post the seed and cords.
I'm not sure about some of the sore losers who will see this and chuck a hissey fit, but I actually admire your Minecraft information skills.
I actually didn't remember anything I've ever found in a dungeon chest, so I copied some of the things above me, all I wanted to say is that I found picks in a village chest. Aha~
But man. Are you sure you're not some kind of walking wikipedia?
I was thinking about this on the train ride home, actually!
I was looking at the world around me, and just thinking at how much Minecraft could grow if you could have zooming powers!
You could zoom out, put down one block of grass, zoom in and then have this huge world! (all fitted on this one block of grass.)
Imagine the possibilities with that. You could quite literally recreate Earth. Just without the flawless physics.
The most I found was about 30 in one huge trip. It started off as a small mine, but I dug up some coal on the ground and found a mineshaft. That mineshaft was perfect and un-damaged for about an hour, before I came accross a very WIDE mine. Not a ravine, just a mine that was very, very wide. Lots of gold, diamond, coal, iron and redstone. Some lapis', but yeah. I got about 45 gold, 3 stacks of coal, 3 stacks of redstone and 1 stack of lapis. c:
The only mod I was using at the time was Rei's minimap mod, to mark where the entrance of the cave was, so I wouldn't get too lost.
I also took 3 of my diamonds to make a diamond pick, whilst inside the cave. So I guess I had 33. Haha c:
I hope you guys realize he has no tools to dig up with.. :L
Best thing to do would either be to find dirt/sand or gravel and dig what you can, or just man-up and find the exit.
Hi, I am running a series of OPEN maps, (currently only OPENLAB is available) and I would like to do an adventure map called OPENADVENTURE (or something like that). I have all of the awesome ideas but don't have the imaginative spur to create beautiful temples and dungeons.
I'm a pretty decent builder. I'd love to put my skills to good use, so I thought, why not help my fellow Minecraftians?
So, please post below what you would like to see built in Minecraft. It can be a real building, it could be from a game. It could be from a 3D game like Skyrim, or a 2D game like Breath of Fire!
Anything at all. I want to try to make a mark here in the Minecraft forums, and I may-as-well start here!

Find the village and go to the house with the bookshelves and loot all the books, then go to the blacksmith's and loot anything in the chest. I got a diamond pick once! :3
I will give out the seed when I feel as if I'm done using it myself.

So I randomly generated a new map. Completely brand new, not a single block broken on this map. Not one.
I spawned into this amazing serie' of islands! And it's like this throughout the whole map!
I took some screenshots of what I'm talking about!
This is what seems to be the mainland.
This second image shows that ravines generate just below the islands. This exact ravine is under the mainland (shown above) but from what I've found, there are no random caves. Only ravines. (and maybe some villages, strongholds and mine-shafts, I presume)
In this image, I'm showing you an in-game map, I explored exactly a maps worth of land (or well, sea in this case) and it shows that there's absolutely no large amounts of land around for miles.
And in this last image, I'm showing you a large map (provided by Rei's minimap mod) that covers the 5 main island located near the spawn point!
I am planning to make something nice with this map! Maybe even another island survival of my own?
Whatever I make of it, I promise to save a clean version and put it aside, in-case I decide to give it up for download! c:

3 wheat, 2 saddles, 4 melon seeds, 5 coco beans, 2 buckets and an iron pick.
In a village chest, the best thing I've found is 2 iron picks and 1 diamond pick! c':
