Dude, what the hell? I didn't say to **** on the existence of Alienware's just because I'm getting one

Uh.. alienware is terrible in general, it's not cause you're getting one, you're just getting informed that they're.. well, bad, overpriced, about the same quality workmanship as any other slap together PC company.

Is the configuration okay? I get a MAJOR discount on Dell because of my partnership.

I hope that's a half price discount or something, but anyway, the build is fine.

I don't get it. Why do people **** on Alienware? The computer I'm using now is a horrible disaster which can't run Minecraft properly. All the stuff I put into the Alienware, though, are BEAST. I don't get it, is it that Alienware can't run Crysis 2, Minecraft or any other game?

Why would you possibly get an alienware?

Because he believes all the hype.

Dude, bottom line, alienware PCs' suck, horribly, you can easily build one for half price.

PLEASE READ EVERYTHING AND TRY TO HELP :biggrin.gif:

Okay, So I'm getting a gaming computer or laptop. When I searched for Dell computers for gaming (I get a partnership discount so I have an easy access to them) I found an available laptop for my country, the Alienware m17x (laptop).
I was about to buy it, when I found another Alienware available for my country, the Aurora R3.

I was very confused afterwards, since people say that the best gaming experience comes from Desktops.
But also, I want some gaming in which I could take to my room, instead of just keeping it down at the house office.
A Alienware m17x seemed a good idea for a couple of reasons: I could travel with it to certain places. I could easily transfer it to a HD tv and connect it via a HDMI cable.
The Aurora R3 seemed good for a couple of reasons as well: It's WAY more powerful for the same price than the laptop (Would run better in games and internet) and I guess it would last longer than a laptop (Life time)
I WANT TO CLARIFY: NO I'M NOT BUYING SOME OTHER COMPUTER OR EVEN BUILDING MY OWN. IT'S EITHER AURORA OR M17X.

I want some bad ass gaming experience with FULL SETTINGS on games like Crysis 2 and... :Diamond: MINECRAFT :Diamond:

I went to the DELL Store and lookes at all the building features for each system. I'm stuck building the AURORA, tho. I want some help with that.

Specifications of the Aurora I'm building. Please tell me what Video Card I need or what configuration will probably not work:
Matte Stealth Black Chassis with 875W Multi-GPU Approved Power Supply [Included in Price]
Intel® Core™ i7-2600K (8MB Cache) Overclocked Turbo Boost to 4.1GHz [Included in Price]
Genuine Windows® 7 Ultimate, 64bit, English [Included in Price]
8GB Dual Channel DDR3 at 1333MHz [Included in Price]
Don't know what to put for video card. Please let me know.
    1TB SATA 3Gb/s (7,200RPM) 32MB Cache [Included in Price]
Alienware® 19-in-1 Media Card Reader [Included in Price]
21.5” Alienware AW2210 OptX™ Full HD Gaming Monitor Product Details [Included in Price] or
ST2320L 23-inch Full HD Widescreen Monitor [Add $4.00] (Please let me know what's better)

Creative Sound Blaster® X-Fi™ Xtreme Audio [Included in Price]
802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1 EDR USB Combo Adapter [Included in Price]
Single Drive: Dual Layer Blu-ray Reader (BD-ROM, DVD±RW, CD-RW) [Included in Price]

As long as you have externals around, sure, it's plenty.

Also, what does this have to do with MineCraft?!

I'm gonna play Minecraft with the laptop...

I have the option to upgrade the hard drive space of the Alienware m17x I'm getting.
What I have now is 350 GB, will that be enough?

I can upgrade to 750 or 1.5 TB
I'm not changing the Alienware, I'm getting it. Period.

    Hehe, period.

We can get together into a Wi-fi zone, and play SMP in a server in which we are all in. I'd do that, even though I live in South America

posted a message on Will an Alienware m17x play Minecraft smoothly?
I'm getting an Alienware m17x and I'd like to know weather or not it will run Minecraft (along with some other games) smoothly. Not only smoothly, but with the fancy options and the far render distance. Also, a high number in FPS.
I know Alienware is an overkill, and other laptops could do even better for a lower price, but I found Alienware an easy access laptop for now.
I don't want comments saying "If you really want gaming, you should get a Desktop instead" or "Build your own computer!!" or "Alienware is too expensive, you should get...". Alienware is my final decision, I just want to know if it will run Minecraft 'top notch' :iapprove:

Also, in the near future I'm probably setting up a desktop around here, so recommend me a fast desktop that can run heavy gaming. This is separate and extra, tho.
THANK YOU FOR HELPING! (IN ADVANCE) :Sheep:

posted a message on Best DELL Laptop for Minecraft?
    Hello! :Sheep:

I'm looking for a good gaming Laptop, especially to run Minecraft without any lag, with a high number of FPS, and that I can run with the best quality options (Far distance, Fancy looking) . I'm looking for a laptop only. No, I'm not going to build a computer, I'm looking for a laptop.
I have easy access to DELL Laptops only, so could you PLEASE let me know of a good Dell Laptop that can run Minecraft "top notch" :Notch:
A Alienware is too much of an over kill, and I'm not willing to pay a ridiculous amount of money for that kind of laptop. Even if the price isn't as fair, let me know of the BEST Laptop for gaming. (Dell only, again)

Apart from just Minecraft, other games too :wink.gif:
