posted a message on Singleplayer vs. Multiplayer Mods
Sorry if this is mentioned somewhere else, my search foo is pretty weak.

With the recent move of SSP now hosting a server internally, does this imply that we can use mods developed for SMP in our SSP worlds? (There are some nice ones out there that are SMP only) Or would it be difficult to make that adjustment?

I have been out of the modding community for quite some time. (Last time I looked at the MC code was back in beta.) Was hoping for some insight.

Installed Windows 7 x64 with all the same programs. Now with 4GB of ram I was able to run MC perfectly. This is a problem because MC should not be failing on 3GB. Just thought I would inform everyone.

So I ran around without the texture pack for a while and it was still crashing. I have the latest java. Any other thoughts people? From my research there have been several people that have been having memory issues lately.

You're not the alone, this guy has the same error.

Don't know what it is though...

Actually it seems he can open the inventory, however when he moves his mouse the computer freezes. Its not the same at all. Kinda... I mean the result is neither of us can play thanks to the inventory thing... but his computer freezes and I run out of memory. 2 different bugs.

If you use any texture packs, turn back to default texture pack.
or Install windows 7 x64 and java x64.

Always worked for me to bypass outOf Memory problem

Yea, I wouldn't have a 32 bit OS installed right now except I have a paper due and I loaned my CD for the x64 to my cousin. I'll do another install in a week or 2 when I get my CD back.

    EDIT::

    Make sure you are:
    • Playing on lowest graphics/settings
    • Allocating as much as memory as possible to minecraft.
    • Using the default texturepack

If you do not know how to allocate more memory to minecraft, just google it.

For funzies I put it back on the default texture pack and I was able to run it for a bit and even open the inventory on max settings. I then saved and quit. When I went back to change the texture pack to the non-default it crashed instantly. I didn't even load the world so the settings don't matter, it crashed as soon as I clicked the pack on the texture select screen. Now being how my hardware is sufficent to have ran it all on 1.7 max settings with 128x128 texture packs (Now it is failing on a 64x64), I would assume there is either some kind of bug affecting it, or a 32bit OS isn't sufficient to run minecraft. Since we know people with a 32bit can run it... there has to be something else.

I recently did the update to 1.8 (After not playing for a few weeks and a re-install of windows) and I was having some fun running around in 1.8. However after a few minutes my game crashed saying that I ran out of memory (Didn't have this problem with 1.7).

I started it back up and played for a few minutes then it crashed again. Then I noticed it was crashing every time I opened my inventory. This was on a new world and a clean install. I know my hardware is powerful enough because I have been playing the game on this rig for over a year now.

The only difference is that this install is a 32 bit windows 7 when previously I was running a 64. I have 4GB ram (only 3 being used in the 32) and an AMD x4 3.2GHz processor.

    Thoughts?

Did you really troll us because you didnt listen to me and get the latest version of Misa's pack that was on her thread? Instead you get on our case for not being helpful when my first statement to you was if you have the latest versions of everything. Misa had released 180 already and you never once said you were still using 176. We all assumed do to your expert knowledge that you would atleast be smart enough to know to get the latest version of the pack since you said you got the latest versions of everything you needed.

If i'm being repetitive its because the first time we tried to help you you didn't get it.

The texture pack works other than one VERY BIG PROBLEM. All the text is messed up, menus and everything. Is there any way to fix the text? I tried uninstalling the mod and going back to default textures, now minecraft just instantly crashes after the mojang logo...... WTF?

you can read the fix that is about 3 posts above yours.

If you end up going to the tinychat for assistance the only one you should be asking is misa because when i went in and explained my problem about me not being able to make the bed with this pack they told me "there must be a problem with mcpatcher" i ended up fixing the problem by myself and the bed wasnt included in the patch for the texture pack but they kept telling me "your not a programmer" when i got my bachelor's degree from ITT tech and i knew what i was talking about and they abviously didnt. Specifically Lishid saqid "leave the tinychat so we can help people with actual problems". I was having an issue with me not being able to make beds so next time Shimizoki, Lishid, and Nappa try to tell anyone something like that then you may PM me and ill fix your problem myself and Misa should ban these un-cooperative people off that tinychat. So like i said only consult with misa in the tinychat or PM me here on forums.

As a Moderator for the tiny chat, I have helped dozens of people get the pack working. Some of these people you know from Lets Plays. Having Worked with misa for a while now I know how her pack works, and what files it edits. When you then asked misa, she responded with

"[15] misa: Yeah, my texture pack contains no code.
[15] misa: It's simply art files that are used by the game using MCPatcher."

Thereby showing that any problems that you were having specifically with the bed could not be coming from the texture pack, otherwise ALL images in the pack wouldn't work.

We started the conversation simply with basic troubleshooting and offered many reasons the problem could be. And all you could say was that

    "[14] rd_lone_killer: [... ]im a programmer i know what im talkin about"

We are here to help, its what we do. We cannot help those that will not listen to what we have to say.

6 New Lighting Options (Including Lanterns and Fireplaces) --- Redstone powered lamps, torches dont have enough light, need to be able to turn on lights when we get hime
7 Weather --- Snow, we need it back
16 Boss Monsters (Including Dragons) --- yay, But could be included in New Mobs

posted a message on My program to convert pictures to wool
Ran a new test... cause thats what I do. Looks great, takes the color of the wool from misa's pack and looks much better, when dither is on it looks great, not so much though for high or low resolutions in the program (However in the game on High resolutions it looks good.)

Wooly.bmp is nice. No complaints for now. everything seems to work
