This is a block & item update. It adds textures for all the new blocks and items up to Minecraft 1.8.9. It includes all the new blocks including prismarine, sea lantern, new doors, new stones, red sandstones, etc. it also includes all the new items including the new doors, prismarine shards & crystals, armor stand, mutton and rabbit. All the new banners are included as well. This update also adjusts some of the glass and a few other blocks for better compatibility with Minecraft 1.8+.
Download it and give it a spin. Let us know what you think. Enjoy!

Come on. "Updated to 1.8.4. Note: Some features such as Better Glass are not yet implemented in 1.8." is on the first post of the first page of this thread. And as for OptiFine, OptiFine doesn't yet have it implemented either I think.
Right, that's why I asked. Is there an independent mod or some other way that may have the same renderPass ability that anyone knows of? I've searched and haven't found anything yet. I was asking if there was any other way to get similar effects in Minecraft 1.8 (because MCPatcher and Optifine don't have it implemented as of yet).
Does anyone know of a way to use BetterGlass type effects (translucent render passes) in 1.8? I used renderPass=3 in previous versions of MCPatcher with 1.7.10 to make translucent glass. The new CTM/renderPass properties template mentions the renderPass numbers have changed to specific names, like 'overlay', but using them in MCPatcher 503 or Optifine doesn't appear to work. We're in the process of updating our texture pack from 1.7 to 1.8+ but are loosing all the translucency effects we used on glass, fire, wood + iron doors, etc.
Thanks for the clarification about the beta numbering. Sorry about the confusion. Too bad about MCPatcher languishing. The latest MCPatcher doesn't support all the features of the older MCPatcher and Optifine doesn't either. I hope MCPatcher is eventually updated, or that Optifine adds all the features that the older MCPatcher had.
I think you misinterpreted what version he meant he meant BETA 1.7.3 then again i could be misinterpreting what you said and am having a sleep deprived moment of not so brilliant
I may have. Wouldn't the same old versions of the launcher, MCPatcher and mods that run with 1.7.10 work with beta 1.7.3, or at least be closer than the current versions?
So I haven't played Minecraft in forever, and I wanna play a bit of Beta 1.7.3. I've been trying to patch it to make 32x32 texture packs work, but I'm not having much luck, haha. Since they've replaced texture packs with resource packs, and the old launcher that creates a bin and such doesn't work I've ended up here trying the latest version, which seems to recognize a b1.7.3 jar in the .minecraft folder at least, but my problem is the mods are all greyed out, so patching does nothing. Is there a know reason for this? I would really appreciate any help!
Here's a screenshot of what it looks like:
I have a texture pack in the texture pack folder, which I accessed through the options button in the client, if that matters. Thanks in advance
I did a showcase on the Resource Pack. Awesome job!
Cool, thanks for the awesome review! It's very much appreciated!
I added a link to this showcase/review to the OP and the Sensei & Son HD128 Texture Pack page as well.
SenseiMS, thanx for direct download link, that worked for me!
I'm located in Russia and dreamlight.com is unavailable for me (checked on different computers with different internet providers).
Now the texture pack is working great! ^^
Great!
I'm glad you were able to download it from the direct link and that you like the texture pack! -Enjoy!
(There is a security package running on our main site that has blocks to a few global locations where most of the spam was coming from. Sorry about that.)
The biggest thing I was missing in Optifine for our texture pack was the better glass and render passes that we use to put translucent glass in the wooden/iron doors, etc. Also some of the CTM textures worked but some didn't.
Screens look cool, really nice design, but I'm getting blank pages on all of your links : (
Other download link, please!
Thanks!
That's strange. The pages load here, where are you located? They may be blocked in Russia/China due to all the spam we were getting. Here's a direct download link that should work though. I added it to the OP as well. Thanks for pointing it out.

Which item and/or block textures in the current set are your favorites?
A little feedback will help us when we get a chance to add some new blocks and items for 1.9 and beyond.

I've posted a thread with Step-by-step Instructions on How-to Install MCPatcher with Shaders Mod & Forge for MC 1.7.10 so that we could use Shaders Mod with MCPatcher to take full advantage of our texture pack: Sensei & Son HD128 Minecraft Texture Pack which works best with MCPatcher rather than Optifine. We had to use older versions of MCPatcher, etc. The steps are for Mac OS X, but you probably have to use similarly older versions on Windows.

Yes, a 1.8 update would be next if there's enough interest, so spread the word!
