Haha, I just came back here out of curiosity. Not here to stay though.
Yeah, I remember the rules became way too strict, and you couldn't just chat with people in a free way on the internet. It was kinda sad. Trying to be inclusive is a good thing, but should never be done at the expense of the current culture.

You're saying you can read a page in three seconds? I find that hard to believe.

For some reason nostalgia drew me back here after many years of absence. But I'll probably leave soon.

Coffee makes me a little nauseous, but sometimes I think it's worth it for the rush and go for it anyway. Most of the time no though.

So it's not really a forum anymore then. Man, when they banned profanity I thought it was bad, then the chat thread, now I come back and they've outlawed discussion. I think I'll leave again. I used to really like posting here(as you can see by my post count), it's too bad what's happened.
Well, this thread is also for leavings, so I guess I'll say goodbye again. I'm going off to college in a couple months; gonna double major in economics and mathematics, with a minor in music. I'm already entering into college with half my credits satisfied, so I'll probably be taking a lot of weird classes as well.
In my year of absence I've changed a lot; I've converted to Catholicism for one. Became pro-life. Didn't see that one comin', did ya!? I don't even know if any of you even remember me, so maybe that's not a surprise, but I used to be so critical of religion when I was so ignorant of it.
Anyway, that's neither here not there. I miss what this place once was. I'll probably be coming back every few months maybe. I dunno.

What do you mean by social constructs? If you're a female biologically but wear jeans and flannel and go monster truckin' on Fridays does that make you a male? If you're biologically male but like wearing pink and yellow and go dancing does that make you female? I don't see how preference of activity or attire or whatever else a social construct is changes whether you're male or female.
Exactly! It's a problem that gender theory is appropriating the words that they are. If they were to introduce new words into the vocabulary to describe people I would not have a problem with it. But the fact that they're using words that have always meant something purely biological and are using it to describe something completely unrelated, or at least claiming that they are, introduces a lot of problems. It's not that language is changing, it's that people are trying to force it to change to fit their goals.

It seems to me to be a discrepancy between gender and reality. I'd be perfectly fine if gender and sex were completely separate things, but if that were actually what people were claiming they wouldn't be using the same exact words to describe both. Man and woman have always meant biological sex. Yes, language does change, but you can't force it to change if not for a good reason, and saying that someone is something they're not is not a good reason.

Maybe it only felt that way 'cause I was younger at the time, but I had fun talking about stuff back when there was PPNS and the chat thread. Now it's just a lot of boring topics it seems.

Well good discussion for one.
Well that would explain it. Seriously? Banning a whole range of topics because two users couldn't be civil? Whose decision was that?

So the last post I made was a year and a day ago. What's happened? There seems to be a lot missing.

This was my jam for Independence Day.
Gone for a year and still have the most posts in this thread by twofold. You guys are slackers.

SSB4. Trying to get better before college.

I just got Super Smash Bros for the Wii U in preparation for college. Gotta make friends somehow, and my school has a Smash club. So yeah, Smash is definitely up there.
Far Cry 2 is definitely an underrated game. It's pretty formulaic, but it's such a great story and absolutely one of the most beautiful games ever made.

A lot of people, myself included, find that the way that gender is approached to be, frankly, silly. What you believe and feel about yourself does not change who you are in actuality. An identity is worthless if not reflected in reality. I understand that there are many difficulties for people who feel that their bodies do not reflect who they truly are, but a person's body is what it is and no amount of desire to the contrary will change that.
Out of respect I always address people by the pronouns they prefer, as it's common courtesy to refer to people the way they see themselves, but the disagreements people have with gender theory are numerous and legitimate.
