Mojang developers have explicitly stated that such a feature would require a total rewrite of the block engine. The same goes for vertical slabs and placing two slabs on the same block space. Not to mention the insane amount of lag that microblocks would cause.
Mojang knows their brand. They know that if they change (much of) the
graphics, that they'd lose a major tool at their disposal, which is
brand recognition.
what? They just released the windows 10 version of the game with microtransactions. And they are making retexturing the game. And they completely reworked combat. And they removed the furnace minecart. And they added the crafting book along with tutorials and popups on the screen with new crafting recipes.
I guarantee that Mojang does not know their brand AT ALL.

are you sure microblocks would cause an insane amount of lag in windows 10 edition. i know java probably would though.
No, we can actually do this fully within the 1-meter framework that Minecraft is currently using. It would require two things to be done first, though:
1)the ability to create custom blocks from within the game versus via an out-of-game feature (ie, datapacks). We don't have this yet, but it's probably currently in the works (the out-of-game aspect is much further along, though). Things that need to be handled would include how to store and manage additional/custom textures and possibly how (if possible) to apply them to different shapes. This has the potential to completely wreck the game by introduce lag/space issues, and of course we don't want future updates by Mojang destroying our work either.
2)a machine/crafting block/etc connected to an UI that lets us draw out and then create our block, using materials we provide it. This would basically virtualize the smaller block scale so that ultimately we only ever produce 1-meter blocks. This can potentially even lead to a system of blueprints or similar media, further speeding up the creation by not having to redo everything each time you customize a block.
The above would be for a Chisels n Bits or Microblocks mod style of custom-blockery, but it wouldn't be too difficult for Mojang to set up functionality similar to ArchitectureCraft or Carpenters Blocks/Blockcraftery mods instead (the user supplies the full blocks to take the texture from, Mojang provides the functionality that lets you choose what shape to use).
yes i agree. i think a UI for crafting the block would work good. and yes i stated it could be done with the normal 1 meter thing.
Diamonds can appear as clear like what you are saying, AND blue, orange, green, yellow, red, etc. Blue diamonds are just what mojang chose. I see no reason to change this unless to add every color of diamond into the game.
a gamerule would work. but i myself dont find any reason to turn it off. i use it all the time ( i bind it to the F key) I use it all the time to look around blocks without other people seeing me, or to look behind me if someone is chasing me.
this sounds cool. but what would the radius be? alternatively i think water that just runs along the ground should be silent altogether. the only water that i think that should make noise is falling water like waterfalls. Maybe hard blocks like stone should just block quieter noises altogether if there is no path through the air for the sound to travel to you.
Sometimes a block is too big. Something like this idea would need something similar like the technical update to change how blocks work. But anyways the idea is being able to craft smaller blocks 1/8th the size of a normal block. this would allow you to build smaller more intricate designs. Also this would make vertical half slabs and sideways stairs a reality. You craft them by simply putting the block into the crafting table just like how you craft buttons. And buttons are made with a mini block. More information on how all this works in the picture i attached.
An update to the games mechanics would be nice, though it isn't necessary. The explanation to the mechanics is in another attached picture. Without the update, and leaving it the way it is: It could work like half slabs where each possible combination is a whole solid block on the normal grid.
Can we please already get an option to remove tutorials that hideous 1.12 brought us? I guarantee that absolutely NOBODY wants them. They keep popping up, harassing you to punch wood and make planks. Then every single time you get a new item in your inventory a popup says "NEW RECIPES UNLOCKED CHECK YOUR RECIPE BOOK". You will see this message about 5 times every minute annoying you to death until you have unlocked every single recipe. Phew done with tutorials? oops started new world or new server... DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN! switched minecraft versions? DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN! This is the kind of stuff that minecraft machinimas "if <insert company> bought minecraft". has in the videos and it has become true. I and many others REFUSE to play minecraft 1.12 until this issue has been fixed. sorry for the complaining... BUT SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS!!!
Hey, i really like chocopic v6 but i like the water shaders and rain effects from v5. anyone know how to merge these or if its even possible at all? Or perhaps anyone know how to make the water blue and reflective again like how it was in the previous versions.
For "brilliant grass" as you say, you have to activate the option "Force Wet Effect"
And if you are about 38 fps as you say, it is that performance level, the Seus V10 was lighter compared to the Seus V11 which is really heavy because of the Global Illumination, the SSAO, the volumetric clouds, etc. ..
Hey. AMAZING WORK on the v11 water. It looks amazing compared to v10. However... is the ground supposed to look like this? i have an attached image it looks like the grass is made of glossy glass. Also why does v11 give me about 38fps while v10 gives me about 110fps?
either 1.7 or 1.8. i think 1.8 smoothed some of the rough edges on 1.7 like being able to fly faster and being able to place buttons on the floor. But i absolutely hate the addition of andesite, granite, and diorite. prepare to get your anus crammed with unnecessary blocks while mining.

This would require a complete reworking of the game, and I think it would cause Minecraft to lose much of it's blocky charm.
Nien Support.
Attached is undeniable proof that mini blocks with the current block engine is entirely possible.

i always wanted this as sometime i craft 64 ladders or 64 torches and realized i wasted a bunch of materials.

Contact Mojang staff to get the issue resolved.
