    Oh this is so cool.

Okay, so I'm trying to make it play a special sound if someone says my name specifically. I'm using this:
    on "(.*)?[Rr][Yy][Bb][Ee][Cc](.*)?" sound "resources/chat/me.wav"

It works fine if I type my name alone, if I type random things and then my name, but not if I type anything AFTER my name. What can I change?

    Thanks in advance.

I think I found a bug, can someone confirm?
I was working on a 6-axis frame motor and decided to put a wind turbine on top for power.
However, when I move the thing, it leaves a trail of invisible ghost turbines. You can't see them, but you and the frame machine can collide with them. I discovered it when I tried to move the machine up and it acted like it was stuck, then suddenly I was running into fake turbines everywhere. If you look at them just right a selection box appears and you can break them.

Anyways, word of warning: extract your turbines/windmills from the generator before moving the generator with frames.

I'm having a bit of confusion here, I'm trying to make recipies that require damage-value items (turn two slabs back into one of their original material). Your instructions don't say how to do this, only how to affect the damage of the result. Is this opperation even supported?

Other than this, really enjoying the mod.

Remove the spaces from the material names.
Lapis_Lazuli or LapisLazuli instead of Lapis Lazuli.

Also, glowing redstone will only exist if you're already mining it, so you may want to reconsider scanning for it.

If I increase the size of the detector with the Bigger option, the arrows no longer correspond to actual coordinates. As I walk around, each arrow moves in a different direction at a different speed. They remain consistent when rotating my view, but when I take steps they move around. The positions of the arrows are consistent for each position, though. If I take one step forward they all move, then one step back and they return to their previous, yet still inaccurate, position.

Works fine at default size, though.

Just playing Devils Advocate: A plugin is created using an API provided and controlled by the software developer, a mod is created by altering code/files, and is not under control by the software developer.

^that, with the addition that some plugins may not need an API. Or maybe that'd just make them stand-alone tools.

So, like, if you made a minimap by reading memory addresses from a running game/intercepting map packets from a MP game, and piped it to an overlay or something, it would also be like a plugin (I haven't really looked at it, but I think this is how the other live minimapper works, minus the overlay part.). The Steam overlay would also technically be a plugin, even though it's not Minecraft specific.

I agree that Notch probably isn't too concerned about mods like this, I was just trying to point out where the gray area was coming from, and why Messiah no longer feels comfortable distributing.
I also think that pulling his mods down is just going to encourage others to make their own.

Also, texture packs are a different beast. They do not/cannot change how the game functions, only alter appearances (unless you make all blocks look the same, but that's beside the point). They're in the same arena as custom skins.

Sorry for causing quite this much drama, I just wanted to help show why Messiah pulled stuff down.
Not to mention, that's not really an "official" terms and conditions, it's more of an informal "don't be an ass", and none of these mods really fall into the being an ass category.

Hmm, what if you only distribute you changes to the class files? I don't see how that is unobjectionable at all, it's just like the texture packs: you are submitting your changes to Notch's stuff not his stuff.

    The one major rule:
Do not distribute anything I've made. This includes the client and the server software for the game.
This also includes modified versions of anything I've made.

In order to maintain control of the project, I need all game downloads to come from a single central source. I hope you understand.

    What you can do:
If you've bought the game, you may play around with it and modify it. I'd appreciate it if you didn't use this for griefing, though, and remember not to distribute the changes.
Any tools you write for the game from scratch belong to you.
You're free to do whatever you want with screenshots and videos of the game, but don't just rip art resources and pass them around.
Plugins for the game also belong to you and you can do whatever you want with them, including selling them for money.

The line that was crossed is that the code was decompiled and modified.
Go to the main minecraft website. Look at the bottom, click Terms and Conditions, and you'll see this:

Notch has had his position clear since the website was started. That said, if he was actually concerned about mods, he'd say something about it on the blog. If Messiah has decided he wants to fully follow Notch's listed wishes, that's his right. In fact, I think it's great that once he realized Notch wasn't fully okay, he pulled it down. Integrity is always appreciated.

posted a message on client side disable of player names
This should be reasonably simple to do. You'd just have to find the variable that controls the distance at which names fade out, and change it to be reeeeeeeeal close.
Or to whatever the user desires. Personally, I'd like it if we could change things such that blocks render on top of player names, effectively making it so you only see names if you see the person as well. That, combined with a fade distance of, say, 40-50 blocks...
I've no experience with java or the Minecraft internals, but I might poke my head around, see what I can see...

Aww, I was hoping we'd get some sort of new craftable tool that would let you switch to and from Hell at any time/place, and then Hell would just be like the real world in miniature. And on fire.
