Make sure you're typing in the seed right. Also, this was done on 1.8.1, not a 1.9 prerelease, if you happen to be using one. Don't know if it makes a difference or not, but it's food for thought!
I just recently started doing my own Let's Play series, and I was thinking that I wanted a good survival island-type map to use. I would really appreciate some suggestions on a good map to use, or any other good suggestions for a Let's Play episode.
You generalize about older people being superior, older people generalize about younger people being immature.
These generalizations aren't unfounded. However, there are obviously exceptions to the rule. There are many young people that act mature for their age, there are many older people who haven't left mommy's basement.
I'll be 33 next month, and I couldn't care less what your age is. If you act like an asshat, I'll assume you are one.
I fear for the education of our children, I really do. These are such basic concepts. Minecraft leaving East at the top of the map would just confuse and dumb down the population even more, it has nothing at all to do with creativity and being different...
Thanks for the laugh!
I fear for any parent who lacks imagination, as MineCrak clearly does.
Basic concepts or not - you're abandoning imagination for the sake of some moral imperative that there's no effing way that North can't be anything but North.
North, South, East, and West are all WORDS that the ENGLISH SPEAKING part of the Human race came up with to define something. These words mean, essentially, NOTHING at their basic level. Pretend that North and East were switched in our language from the start. Does it make a difference? Nope.
In short, worry about your own children. My son grasps the concept of imagination, and will do just fine playing one game that switches things up. Pretty sure he's not going to start foaming at the mouth when he sees that East is 'up'.
Dude. Theft, Definition 1a: "the act of stealing". Did you even read my post?
I've argued both, actually. The theory side of it goes like this: by infringing upon anothers copyright, you have committed the common-law tort of "criminal conversion", which is the direct civil parallel to "theft". That was in my post, too. Again ... did you even try read it, before firing off your poorly-aimed reply?
And you should probably bother actually reading things, before trying to point out how flawed they supposedly are.
Must be nice to pick and choose what you really mean out of what you ACTUALLY typed:
1 a : the act of stealing; specifically : the felonious taking and removing of personal property with intent to deprive the rightful owner of it
Nice try kid. You didn't win the internet, and you're still wrong.
You were perfectly clear. However, you were also wrong.
Theft, per Merriam-Webster:
Stealing, per Merriam-Webster:
Remember, Copyright is a matter of "Intellectual Property"; what you take need not be a material good, for you to have stolen it. And if you steal ... that's theft.
But, leaving aside the dictionary ... there's this simple fact: violation of someone's copyright is criminal conversion, that is, "exerting unauthorized use or control of someone elses' property". And Conversion is the direct civil-law counterpart to Theft.
So, I say again: PIRACY IS THEFT.
You must enjoy living in your black and white world, huh?
You've quoted two dictionary definitions of two different words, and then TOLD us how stealing = theft. By reading the definitions you've provided, they clearly do not equate to the same thing by definition alone. Perhaps in theory they are similar, yet you're not arguing that - you're arguing definitions.
If you want to tell someone how 'wrong' they are, you should try to find a way to be 'right' yourself.

Was immediately spawn-camped upon leaving the landing area for the wilderness. Such a shame.

I got left smack in the middle of the ocean, Castaway style, with only 1 tree, no wildlife, and a big hole in the center!
Thought you guys might like a crack at this. It's been fun, but tough, due to the lack of food.
Long cavern system down in the bottom with plentiful resources. Beware the creepers. :smile.gif:

EDIT: Forgot to mention that this ia a 1.8.1 seed. :smile.gif:
