posted a message on creating a map wall

I am in Creative Mode. Use Peaceful, Easy, and Normal levels of difficulty. On 5 computers and an iPhone. Windows10/PE, Better Together version. I have reviewed the DigMinecraft and Gamepedia documents on making maps, extensively. I am not able to produce maps that fit together nicely, on a map wall. I have found that with zooming to levels of the maps (0 to 4), the starting points of the maps shift to unpredictable places, at the edges of the specific map. The basic tutorial documents do not explain this clearly. Some YouTube videos have quick demos, but do not explain exactly how or where to start each map, so that a set of maps aligns on a wall. Some YouTube videos somewhat attempt to show this, but the authors also seem to be struggling with this. Perhaps a few of their maps will fit together nicely, then a misaligned map pops up, and that ends the video.

posted a message on Forum page not working properly

The forum page is not working properly. It's OK at first, but will not properly go to the Next link, for additional threads. Some threads do not open. I'm in the Minecraft (Xbox, Windows10/PE, Better Together). The screen either locks up, or goes to a crude page, with lots of blinking of the screen.

posted a message on Bug Reports

In my experience, the bug fixer site is useless. There multiple links that lead to non-resolution, and or my issue is classified as nonvalid, duplicate, or resolved. After too much time spend tracking the additional links, nothing is resolved. In addition, with the information given about terminology and editions, including the most recent for this forum, the help link at minecraft.net leads to a drop down list with old options that are inconsistent with the new terminology. Some corporate sources insist Bedrock is a platform, not a version! All the corporate entities need to get consistent with their terminology! And also their drop down lists, at forums, bug reports, feedback sites, etc. I have seen numerous sources where the term bedrock is used, by corporate entities in the Minecraft World. Their collective act is not together! After a month of this chaos, sometimes I can figure it out. Various sites for corporate entities, forums, bug reporting: all use their own terminology, and are NOT consistent with eachother! These inconsistencies need to be cleanded up! Or not... It is likely not profitable to spend time fixing anything that is constant flux anyway!

The bug site has been useless and time consuming to me. In addition, this forum site, tonight 10/22/2017, keeps locking up, and requires Cntrl-Alt-Del to get to Task Manager to get of it.

Please define modded and unmodified. For example, if one uses Pan's Harvest, and Forge, is that considered modded? I have no idea!

posted a message on Dinosaur Survival: Lack of Documentation

Part of the problem is that the new creatures are not really new. They are replacements of previously existing mobs.

Another part of the problem the underlying philosophy of trial and error, figure it out for yourself. If one is expert in Minecraft creatures (mobs), then there may be less wasted time trying to figure out some taming issues. If one is not yet expert, then there is a huge amount of wasted time. Tedium, not enjoyment.

Cute, enjoyable mobs, such as giraffes and all terrain vehicles (Wildlife Savannah world) should have been truly new entities, and not based on previous hostile mobs. There are manuals within the game that explain some aspects. The information about which so-called new mobs replace which underlying previous mobs is not easily found, anywhere. With trial and error, I have found some of this info from the creators and/or expert Minecrafters on YoutTube, and posting questions under their videos, or as Send Message, within their Channel. That is where I get real answers, within a reasonable time frame. Even then, some answers are 'just keep on trying to see what you get'. When a reasonable result is possible, that is often OK. When a reasonable result is totally impossible, is it not OK to get stuck in mission impossible, due to obscure programming.

posted a message on Bedrock Edition unplayable in current state

I think there may be a serious over-spawning issue, Realm or non-Realm! I work in Minecraft Windows 10/PE (aka Bedrock and Better Together), usually in Creative Mode, Peaceful. I recently switched to Normal level, so that so-called new mobs would spawn. Cute mobs, like giraffes. Soon learned that the new mobs are replacements, in some cases of hostile mobs. Giraffe replaces Witch. I don't know whether sharks are original or replacements, but the sharks are spawning by the thousands, attacking each other, continuously, in many bays and seas. I perceive that this excess, unwanted spawning in Normal level, may be slowing, locking up, disconnecting, and/or crashing the game. Such that the only way out is Task Manager. This happens solo, and when on my trial of Realm. On Realm, it is worse. The only help I have found is from Minecraft experts in YouTube. This forum and the bug reporting sites are extremely time consuming, labor intensive, to deal with. The but reporting site usual response to posts is irrelevant, wrong area, duplicate, and or Resolved, and requires hours of sorting through numerous links, with no real answers. Realms may have potential to be very useful, but for now, there are sill many issues with Better Together, and the Realms.

posted a message on Minecraft Realms

Be sure to find and pay attention to the Terms and Conditions, which are not easy to find. You can have only one active world, or "instance". You can cancel a subscription, but not get a refund. Various tech support at Microsoft, Xbox, and Mojang may be able to help you with account issues, but not with the issues within the Realms.

posted a message on Animal spawning out of control

Hostile mobs (sharks) are spawning by the thousands, attacking eachother, in multiple bays and seas, in Relics of the Privateers! I think this may be slowing down the game, and the rendering. I am waiting to hear from creators, Imagiverse. Windows 10/PE (aka Bedrock, and Better Together). I work on computers and iPhone 7, in Creative Mode, and Normal level of difficulty, so that I can right click to get some of the cute creatures. Unfortunately the cute creatures, such as giraffe, are replacements of hostile (Witch) or other mobs. So one to see them, I can not be in the peaceful level.

posted a message on Removing "featured servers" from PE? (noob parent asking)

The servers should be an option that can be turned off! Certainly not an ever-present, clickable tab in a prominent place, that so quickly leads to three servers with thousands of users on line at the same time. Contacting one's Congress persons and Senators? Are there any known, easily found disclosures for Microsoft, Xbox, and perhaps Mojang campaign contributions, and lobbyist influence?

posted a message on Can I delete the new servers that showed up with 1.2.1?

Totally agree. The corporate push by Mojang, Microsoft, and Xbox for these unsafe servers is inexcusable. Mojang does not understand that Microsoft and Xbox are useless for details of Minecraft. Their scope is handling the accounts, and their purpose is mass profit. Mojang support is account-focused, not on assistance with issues within the Minecraft program and specific games. These million-persons servers are about corporate policy, for profit, and therefore, beyond the scope of tech support persons, programmers, and bug fixers.

posted a message on Better Together, Operation Rescue Minecraft.

Many things still need fixing! Flatworld option is needed, the sooner the better. Since Microsoft is likely a major funder of political campaigners, there will likely be no regulation re the ethics of releasing a platform and products insufficiently tested. In addition, the recommended sources for help and some of the sites for help result in messages about unsafe certificates, and warnings about security. I have found the best answers from developers and persons with YouTube Channels. However, there are always some offensive names and comments, even among the best ones. Since I started using YouTube for this purpose, and posting comments, in the past few weeks, I am now getting multiple bogus emails, that look legit at first glance, that look like they come from YouTube. These bogus emails refer to videos and pictures that were rejected. However, I have not uploaded any videos and pictures.

posted a message on Why can't my child use texture packs I bought?

Are you able to log in, at the same time, both of you, and be in the same game on your home wifi? Last week, when I tried that with grandsons, they was an option to Download resources, or something like that. That aspect worked better last week, than in the previous weeks.
