Loving a lot of it, especially the ocean features and shipwrecks. Like, oceans are fun to explore now because of the kelp forests and trenches and ruins~
One nitpick I have though is the Drowned. Not the mob itself, but the fact Zombies can't swim anymore. It was always much fun to come out and see them hiding in a pool, bobbing there and briefly taking a spot of damage and grunting in response... Now the Zombies and SKeletons just sink. Boring!
I've had zombies come out of caves and then drown themselves because of water making a "wall" or having an underwater base with an unlit room and two open doors... The zombies would walk into it then start floating up and eventually perish. Zombies could still become "Drowned" without having to be "If they enter anything other than waist deep water, they'll eventually change form"
It also meant mob spawner traps involving water elevators stopped working since they wouldn't 'climb' the columns.
If I knew how to change it back, so they could "swim" again I would. Drowned would spanw naturally in dark waters, but Zombies wouldn't just 'sink' then auto-convert.
Might be that you need to enable some option to show snapshot versions then, since 1.8.9, 1.9.4 and 1.10.x are all available on the repo as snapshot versions and to know knowledge peterix has added support to access them.
I'm not seeing any option to do that anywhere in the program unfortunately.
I did enable the Development version updates and installed those, and this did make Liteloader show up for the base 1.10.2 finally, though not for the snapshot versions beyond it - which means I'd have to give up my 16w39c snapshot game world, since MMC says it'll delete Forge/LL/etc from the instance if I change versions. At least it works with the base 1.10.2 now!
Liteloader should be supported directly in MultiMC, even the snapshots. Are you certain that your MultiMC is up to date?
MultiMC loads and installs Liteloader just fine for 1.8 and earlier, but for 1.8.9 onwards it claims no compatible versions could be found when clicking on Install LiteLoader. Manually installing them worked however, except for this time for some reason. As far as I can tell, MultiMC is up to date as clicking 'Check for Updates' states it's using the latest version (MC5 - v0.4.11-751)
I ran the installer, and as I use MultiMC I had it extract to the instance folder instead of extending it from a launcher profile. When starting the game though, nothing's changed.
It's a fully vanilla instance, no Forge or anything modified in any way. I looked through some pages and there had been suggestions about editing a config/json file to point at a specific version, but there are no config files and the installer didn't extract any json's either.
The problem with this is that, if it is an old save and you have changed a little something to your mod setup in the meantime, item ID's may have shifted a bit in the best case making your house built out of cake instead of something more solid.
That sounds like the most delicious house ever.
I've been exploring my world more and more, had quite a bit found... Then while I was heading home from an Alps biome - which was going to be a loong trip - the game suddenly crashed. I didn't think much of it and just signed off for the night, but when I logged back in today it gives me the same messages. Since it's mentioning Highlands in the report, I thought I'd post it here - though I don't know where else it'd fit anyway.

So I know that pets poisoning you on accident is a known problem in the 1.8 version, but is pets disappearing a known problem?
I don't mean like them wandering off or despawning, but becoming 'invisible'
I had tamed two komodo dragons and kept them in this pen, and for a long time they just sat there hissing and just hanging out. Sometimes poisoning me to say hello when I came up to their fence, but otherwise just sitting there.
Just a few moments ago I got killed by a Creeper, and when I respawned both of my Komodos were "gone". Their icons remained on the minimap however, and after a few moments Aimee here reappeared - but her sister did not. I tossed a splash harming potion in the center of the pen and both icons on the minimap were knocked back, so both komodos are definitely there.... But one's invisible, and the other isn't.
This happened right after I died, but how?
A few minutes of wandering around building and the other komodo reappeared, but it was still odd to see them vanish from sight while still technically being there physically.
On the note of biome spawning, i was looking into including some of Highland's biomes into the CMS's list, though I'm not fully certain I know what to put in...
In the Highlands config file, it has a list of biomes - only one of which actually shows up in CMS's EntitiyBiomeGroups file (SDJ64|Adirondacks foothills). The "Foothills" part doesn't actually show up in Highland's config files, and the SDJ64 portion seems to have been added in by CMS itself.
So, if I wanted Komodos to show up say in the Tropical Island biome, I could just add 'SDJ64|Tropical Islands' to its entry and they'd show up there?
*EDIT* Scratch that, just tried that out and it works fine. Got MoC's handsome komodos spawning in my desired Highlands's biomes now <3
Never would have guessed about the SDJ64 prefix though.
if it doesn't show up there it hasn't been loaded by Forge.
Well I feel like an idiot... While I grabbed the right version of MoCreatures for 1.8, I ended up grabbing the wrong version of Custom Spawners!
3.3.0 and not 3.4.0 - that's why it wasn't loading, it was the 1.7 version of the plugin.
check and make sure CMS shows up in your mods list. and what version of MC are you running?
It doesn't show up in the in-game Mod List if that's what you mean. The one you select from the splash screen main menu?
I'm running 1.8.0 in this particular instance, with the version of the mod(s) for that - double checking I didn't grab the 1.7.x version by accident. Forge is 11.14.1.1392
I want this mod (Or some other mod with cool NEW mobs) for 1.8. no one actually makes/updates their mods for 1.8. Please help.
Not entirely true - Thaumcraft is in the process of being updated for 1.8, Highlands is now out for 1.8.... And ChocoCraft is on the way too. So "No one" is a bit inaccurate.
That aside, I hope that FT's mods will be available for 1.8 sometime, since I'm deeply in love with those Turrets. Actual, nearly-always reliable, potent base defenses, and so fun to use <3
should be in the config folder, will be CustomSpawner, if you have it installed. even if you don't, the can spawn settings in the MOC files don't work right.
Found out why I couldn't see it. The mod's in ZIP format so the CustomSpawner folder is inside the zip file.
./drzhark/customspawner/...
There's one other folder, but I don't know what it's for...
./org/apachev1/log4j/...
In my Config folder though, there's no CustomSpawner folder at all. Never has been, even though I have it installed. MoCreatures has a folder there, but not CMS :/

I saw that VoxelMap said that they had begun to have support for 1.10+ so I tried it out with my version of 1.10.2, downloading the LiteLoader and VM files for that version http://jenkins.liteloader.com/job/LiteLoaderInstaller 1.10.2/
I ran the installer, and as I use MultiMC I had it extract to the instance folder instead of extending it from a launcher profile. When starting the game though, nothing's changed.

I might have to give up on this world, as painful as that is, because I don't know how I'd be able to fix this - if it's even possible.

Well I feel like an idiot... While I grabbed the right version of MoCreatures for 1.8, I ended up grabbing the wrong version of Custom Spawners!
3.3.0 and not 3.4.0 - that's why it wasn't loading, it was the 1.7 version of the plugin.
Thanks for all the help though

It doesn't show up in the in-game Mod List if that's what you mean. The one you select from the splash screen main menu?
I'm running 1.8.0 in this particular instance, with the version of the mod(s) for that - double checking I didn't grab the 1.7.x version by accident. Forge is 11.14.1.1392

I don't see any CMS folders in my Minecraft folder - not in the Config folder, not in the Mods folder... Nowhere. Is it kept somewhere else?

Makes sense. Where can I change its settings? Since I don't see a config for it in my folders.
Ah... Well here's hoping that might be a future addition, but with how busy he is.... Might not happen any time soon.
