It is a challenge CDFDMAN and I came up with for map makers. Don't expect any of the maps from this challenge to be any good =P
We basically have our viewers vote for a theme word that we have randomly generated, then using that theme we need to plan and build the map in 60 minutes. You don't have time to think of the map beforehand and there is basically no time in testing it. I have personally done this twice now and failed both times but I feel like I'm learning more and more about map making through this than I have ever learned before because now I need to have things prepared, I need to know how to create a map from start to finish, and I need to do it quickly.
This is not meant to produce high quality maps but to do your best at creating something playable and maybe even enjoyable in the limited time provided =]

This is a survival map in which the terrain is built entirely out of pillars! Your goal is to survive and thrive with little resources in an unforgiving terrain. One wrong jump can be your last...Difficulty is set to peaceful, feel free to change that to whatever you want.When you open the world you will find yourself on a starting platform in which there are signs to guide you to getting started in your new world. When you start the world you will be randomly placed on one of the pillars in the world so each spawn might be different.All three dimensions (Overworld, Nether, The End) are all made entirely out of pillars.There are secret chests set around the world with both useful and useless loot.There are also spawners of all sorts of mobs set around the world. You may think this to be similar to SkyGrid by Sethbling which is actually my inspiration to making this map. I wanted to create a similar experience with a twist and maybe a tad more difficult, considering there are limited items and specifically placed pillars, you may find this world to be a tad difficult to survive in!

It features the ability to build and save 3 different types of building, basically whatever you want.You can slide through the builds one by one, save updates to the build, or even have a slideshow go through each build on it's own while you sit back and enjoy the view.

You will need to have keep inventory on
Basically you will use a scoreboard objective to define who has the nether star, one to define who HAD the nether star before they died so something like "/testfor @p[score_star_min=1,score_deaths_min=1]"
Once you determine who has the star you add one to the "star" objective.
When the player dies you will use the testfor command I provided above and immediately clear a nether star from their inventory and give them another star before they have time to respawn.
So essentially the player has the star, dies with the star, the star is cleared from their inventory, and a new star is given to them while they are still in the death screen, the star will drop to the ground and be able to get picked up by other players
Now the next issue is how do you determine who picks up the star? Well basically you clear the star from everyone who has the score "star" of 0
Once the item is cleared you can then give that person the score of 1 to star and give them another star.
This way it only clears if the player has a score of 0 for star and the one who picks up the star is determined through command blocks..
I hope I made this clear enough to understand but it does seem like a cool video so if you need some more help let me know and I'll try to make a video on this.

I also left out naming the horse and changing the items inside the donkeys chest to have lores and stuff but I thought those were already covered with other mobs and tutorials and I thought I'd focus more on specific things for horses.
