I've been trying to find information for this case, and I've seen only results saying that it does work apparently. However on my server, when trying to play music, no sound emits from the music blocks.
Anyone else have this problem, or does it entirely not work in SMP?
We have opened a third server, it's basically for fun and on a Nether map. There are chests, workbenches, and furnaces scattered through the area. If you can get to them, then your chances of surviving go up!
Also, we have updated our map technology and now use Dynamic maps which apparently update on the fly. Cool!
Cozworld has been hosting games for the Source Engine and many other top games over the years. We started hosting for Minecraft recently and decided to now go public. We have three servers, one Creative Build server, one Survival server, and a fun Nether server where you just go on and kill stuff!

All servers have a player maximum cap of 20 which will be raised to a later date when needed. We currently have a good amount of both clan members and friends that work on the server already. There are usually people on everyday. To cut down on griefing, we have an application process that takes less than five minutes to complete, and we also require our players to be on Teamspeak because players are able to get in touch with us instantly in case of trouble on the server and this also encourages players to get to know each other better.
Groups
We have our players divided up into sections to serve as a chain of command
Guests (New/Random Players) - These players can attack mobs for defense, and can walk around but cannot build/destroy.
Basic Access (Regular Players) – These players can build and destroy.
Moderators – These players can build, destroy and have access to kick/ban
Admins – These players can build, destroy, kick, ban and also have access to all Server OP commands.
Administration
Not to dive too much into all the plugins we use for anti-griefing and otherwise, but we primarily use hMod for simple kick and ban and have moderators and admins on to supervise the server.
Rules
1. No Racism or discriminatory comments
2. Griefing is strictly not allowed.
3. Players joining us should be 13 or older.
4. We absolutely want no cheating; this will get you banned quickly!
5. We want players to build with a old age (Ancient Greece to 18th century theme in mind. No modern or 21st century structures or floating sky structures. They will be destroyed!
Failure to comply will get your access removed and you a ban!
Current Settlements & Social Information
Cozworld has a wide range of settlements, towns, and cities on both servers that are constantly growing. Players are encouraged to join in on them if they want, or even venture out and build their own! Typically settlements on the build server are huge while on the survival server, they are still somewhat town sized due to having to build with a realistic mindset. (getting your own tools, and resources, etc)
We have implemented some optional things to the server can be benefical. One being the Auction House which players can visit to buy and sell goods using our Gold currency. Also there are some challenges, like during the day/night transition whoever gets the most monster kills is announced. We are still looking into a way of getting a reward for having the most kills.
Anti-grief addons and moderators with admins are also in place with constant backups on the server to insure that your structures aren’t destroyed. We want to make sure that everyone enjoys their time here on the server, and by going public, this makes us even more cautious and alert about the threat of the griefers!

Is there any chance of this mod being able to work for Multiplayer or perhaps compatible as a hMod plugin? On my clan's server we are really interested in this.
Hardly anyone visits the settlements to the north east :sad.gif: they are really cool with the aztec-esque architecture! Also the city north of the huge castle is funnily enough "Vegas in 1392"
Hopefully you guys get your system worked out so new players can help build too :biggrin.gif:
I played on this server a little bit last night, I thought it was cool how you guys have a city behind built around your huge castle which to me is like a Citadel. Traveling north ward (nice use of signs btw) I found another city that was real tight, and much different in architecture lol.
I think it's good that you guys have your players split into groups, and that new players can't build/destroy anything and have to ask for access. That way you don't need a white list and can keep it totally public.
Overall, good server will be playing there again, however you guys have some floating name tags that I saw being taken down, hopefully all those are down since it kinda ruins the immersion.

Add different colors to your houses, like for the front side you can alternative between Rock/cobblestone.
Add modifications to your house, like a balcony for example, and also side structures can distract the human eye from the "block" that is your house.
Believe it or not you can make arched roofs, these make your house more lively.
Windows are also a plus to your house, make sure you use plenty of symmetry to make it more pleasing.
Finally, maybe some nice rows of flowers around your house like a garden, trees, fences, etc.
