As far as I'm aware, Mojang doesn't have these versions that are missing from the launcher, because Notch's computer died. They may still be out there though, on the hard drives of people who played the game at that time. There are archiving groups attempting to recover these versions.

131.153.28.43 _ Welcome to Hemitite Rev 10! We are a semi-vanilla PVE server, and we strive to give you a Vanilla experience while keeping your stay here grief-free. Most of our plugins are meant to keep griefers at bay or protect your items. Chests can be locked and grief damage can be rolled back with a single command. We also have some convenience commands like /home and /spawn, but you'll never see anything like MCMMO or Towny here. Our server has plenty of friendly staff to help out and a great community to hang out and play with. We hope you enjoy Hemitite! _ ^Our amazing spawn, built by RadioactivFly among other staff members ^Another view of spawn. ^Sky Pirates, a popular minigame on the server. Here are the server rules. If you do not follow these rules, you will be swiftly and effectively banned. 1. Be respectful to other players and their property. Staff and donators even more so; they pay for and maintain the server.
2. No griefing, stealing, or destroying property that does not explicitly belong to you.
3. Trolling, spamming, or excessive language is prohibited. Some swearing is allowed.
4. Racism, sexism, or bigotry of any kind is not allowed.
5. Any client hack: X-Ray texture pack, speed/fly hacks, etc; which may give an unfair advantage to the user are prohibited. Mods such as Optifine or Rei's Minimap are allowed, however. Do not abuse glitches that give you an unfair advantage.
6. Builds which may cause excessive lag: large animal farms, large redstone circuits; are not allowed. Please keep builds at an acceptable size.
7. Do not kill or attack another player without reason. Reason includes agreeing to a fight, trespassing, stealing (Only if you KNOW someone stole from you, not think), and in a minigame like Spleef or Sky Pirates.
8. Use common sense. If an act is not posted, but disrupts the experience of another player, it is most likely not allowed.
9. Do not impersonate staff or anyone you're not.
10. Have fun
If you are banned from the server and feel it was unjust, you may appeal your ban here on the forum. Make sure to list your in-game username and acknowledge that you know why you were banned, and assure that you will never repeat the actions that got you banned. If you do not know why you were banned, ask and the staff will tell you. The staff of Hemitite reserve the right to reject any ban appeals.

Donators allow us to continue with running and upgrading our server. We do not make any profit from donation; any money donated can only go towards maintaining the server. Any amount is appreciated.
To be granted a donator title and rank, a sum of at least $5.00USD must be donated.(Be sure to state your IGN in the "Message" section so we know it was you.) Link Removed (That picture is a link. Click it to go to our donation page). The donator rank has been nerfed a bit since Mojang changed their EULA, but there are still some neat cosmetic perks. For a donation of $5 or above, players can wear silly hats with /hat and use /me. For $10, players can use colored chat (http://ess.khhq.net/mc/) and give themselves nicknames with /nick. For $15, players get colored nicknames. All players who donate at least $5 get a yellow donator tag. Please note that the staff of Hemitite reserve the right to take away /me or colored chat if they are abused. Nicknames must not be offensive or confusing. Every time $25 dollars are donated, everyone on the server gets five diamonds. This is cumulative: If one person donates $10 and another donates $15, everyone gets the diamonds. Keep in mind that players can only receive five diamonds at a time. Players who remain offline for long periods of time when $25 or more is reached can only receive five diamonds upon returning. For every $20 USD over $100 in the server's GroupPay account, every player gets to set an extra home. For example: $90 in the account means everyone only has one home. $120 means two homes and $140 means three homes. Maximum of five homes ($200 in account).
If the amount of money in the server's GroupPay account stays at $200 or over, everyone has access to the /tpa command. As of January 17, 2017 Account balance: $0.00 USD Our current staff are as follows:

Hello AMIDST devs! A while back, there was some discussion of the possibility of adding support for the pre-b1.8 biome generation, and the devs tested possible implementation. Unfortunately, it would only work before a certain version (beta 1.6 I believe) and required partially generating the terrain in order to show where water was, and for these reasons it was never implemented. The devs at the time did post the screenshot below, which I downloaded. Unfortunately, I don't remember where this original discussion took place.
Is there any way I could have access to the development version used to make the screenshot below? I'm making a video about the history of Minecraft terrain/biome generation, and I'd really like to be able to produce a fully zoomed-out image of this Beta biome generation to use alongside images from other supported versions. The screenshot below was taken using Beta 1.3.

Oh no... this had such potential

Amphibian Update, nice! I wasn't expecting an update anytime soon because of the rewrite, and this is a very pleasant surprise.

I highly doubt that's what they had in mind, this was the original Prime Wight:

Wow, it's hard to believe it's finally out. I've been following this mod since 2012.
