Mathematics would like to disagree with you. A cube is a sphere (or ball, respectively) with respect to the maximum norm, and there are cubes in Minecraft.Quote from Ocelot60
It still isn't perfect, it can never be perfect.

The water display stays on full, although it's actually empty. Removing the bucket helps, and from then on it's properly supplied with water.Posted in: Minecraft Mods

Fuel, the yellow stuff, via buckets. Should I use oil?

... and then some more.
Meh. Any ideas?
Oct 8, 2011My config says the same. (I've had my quarry explode earlier, that was unpleasant. Made sure there was water in it, boom anyway.)Posted in: Minecraft Mods

What kind of engine is that? Combustion? You have your engine config set to redstone instead of pnuematic?
Yes, combustion. Pneumatic? Huh? Is there some manual to read up on that? Googling for tutorials didn't help much :\
Oct 8, 2011I'm doing something terribly wrong I guess. How could the following construction possibly explode? It does nothing but pumping cooling water into iself after all.Posted in: Minecraft Mods

Minecraft isn't in vector space.
EDIT: Finite vector space.
I know you will respond "Minecraft's blocks have coordinates, therefore Minecraft is in coordinate space, which is a vector space."
Problem is, Minecraft has no room for blocks being on coordinates that aren't integers.
The statement itself is right, but your reasoning is wrong. There are integer vector spaces.
I shouldn't have used Z_n but Z_n*Z_m*Z_m as a vector space above, which is what Minecraft is in. Also my metric doesn't map to the field but Z_something. I should correct that.
(And no, coordinates don't imply vector spaces, maps on manifolds and all that.)

You can't build a perfect sphere in vanilla Minecraft...
That's a formula to calculate 180, and the cosine is redundant.Quote from EstisDementeslim (n->infinity) n * sin(180/n) * cos(180/n)

(UPDATED as of 8/29/2011)All of Minecraft is pretty much pointless, so just because you consider your contraption to be as well that's not really a negative argument. It'a really cool machine.Posted in: Redstone Discussion and Mechanisms
