Please note that this mod is continually being updated, so you may find bugs. Please help us by reporting any issues here:

The 1.11.x and 1.12.x version of Animania REQUIRES the use of CraftStudio API

    What is Animania?

Animania is an immersive mod that replaces and improves the passive animals in Minecraft, adding multiple breeds, genders, new behaviors, and several new species.

Please note that this mod is still new (so there are bugs). Help us out by reporting issues here: https://github.com/capnkirok/animania/issues

    Improvements include:

    • Better models, textures, and animations
    • Proper feed and care of animals
    • Improved breeding and more realistic child growth
    • More accurate behaviors and actions
    • New and better resources and products

    New Behaviors:

    • For animals to be happy, they must have access to a consistent supply of food and water, and in some cases (like Pigs) need a place to have fun (like a mud pit)
    • If attacked, some animals will run in fear for an extended period of time and may act more unpredictably near you. Others may attack back (like the Bull).
    • If animals do not eat or drink, they become unhappy. They will become weaker, make less noise, and emit smoke particles.
    • Animals will only breed or drop their top resources when they are happy, so you are encouraged to take good care of your animals and their environment.
    • Animals can be fed and watered using Troughs filled with water, open ponds or rivers, or by hand (with a water bucket)
    • Animals will eagerly eat their favorite foods or drink from a water bucket by hand

    See What's Happening:

    • Please note: on 1.11 and 1.12 versions, the WAILA or TOP mods can display additional information about what's happening in the world, simply by pressing Sneak while viewing animals or blocks.
    • This includes animal information like if they are Hungry, Thirsty, Pregnant, Pregnancy Timer, Ready to Shear, Ready for Milking, Looking for Nest, Wool Regrowth Timer. Block information can include info like Nest Type, RF Generated (Hamster Wheel), and Trough contents and amount remaining.

    Making Friends:

    • The new animals are found all over the overworld, located in different biomes and biome types more accurate to their species and breeds (Animania is fully compatible with Biome Dictionary and mods like Biomes O' Plenty).
    • To make friends with animals, simply give them their favorite food. See animal types below to learn more.
    • There are achievements/advancements for each breed. Collect them all and win big prizes. Note: Prizes equal the amount of sheer satisfaction you get from accomplishing things in video games.
    • New species and breeds will constantly be added to the game.
    • All animals can use a lead (you will need it). A simple recipe for Lead has been included in the mod.
    • You can easily name animals in the mod. A simple recipe for Name Tags has been included int he mod (String + Gold Nugget)

    Mod Compatibilities:

    • On the 1.11 and 1.12 versions of Animania, there is a strong integration with WAILA, TOP, and JEI, which will give you additional information about your animals and items. We highly recommend using these as companions.
    • Moving animals can be done very easily with the Carry On mod (which was developed for Animania originally)
    • Animania Cows, Chickens, and Horses, extend the vanilla counterparts and are compatible with Cooking for Blockheads, Hatchery, Astikoor and others.
    • Animania is compatible with world generation mods such as Biomes o' Plenty
    • The Trough is automatable and can work with other mods that have Pipes such as Immersive Engineering
    • Most resources in the game are in OreDictionary and should be compatible with mods like HarvestCraft.
    • Vanilla items and resources still drop from Animania mobs in case you need them for other mods. You can also customize the individual drops from any animal in the config.
    • Though Animania replaces vanilla animals, this can be also turned off in the config if you want to keep them in game. Animania animals play well will vanilla animals.

    Modpacks:

Please feel free to use this mod in any modpack, public or private. There is no need to notify or ask us, please just mention Purplicious_Cow and RazzleberryFox in the pack if you do make it public, and link back to this forum post.

    Breeding and Raising Children

Mammal Breeding (Horses, Cows, Pigs, Goats, Sheep, Rabbits):

    • To breed mammals, simply put an eligible Female near an eligible Male of any breed type.
    • If the animals are not already mated (to another animal), they will fall in love and make children as long as they are very close by and well fed.
    • Any two breeds of the same species can mate.
    • By default it takes around 1 Minecraft day for a child to be born (this is configurable).
    • The resulting breed is based on chance.
    • Make sure you keep the Mother well fed during pregnancy.
    • If the mated male and female are separated by more than 30 blocks then the relationship will be severed.
    • Please note that females will only give milk if they have first given birth.

    Chick and Peachick Hatching:

    • To make baby Chicks, simply place a nest for your Hen or Peahen (recipe below is same for both).
    • If the Hen is fed and watered, and enough time has gone by, they will lay eggs in your nest.
    • Up to 3 eggs can be laid per nest before it is considered full.
    • If there is a Rooster/Peacock nearby the nest, an egg has a chance to hatch into a baby chick.
    • The resulting breed is based on chance from the parents.
    • Eggs can be gathered directly from the nest by hand (right-click)

Please note: on 1.11 and 1.12, WAILA and The One Probe mods will show you if your animal is mated, and if you have named your animals, it will tell you the mate's name (if you sneak while viewing). These mods can also show you if the female is pregnant, when it is approximately due to give birth (or lay an egg), if the animal is fertile (and ready to get pregnant), if the bird is looking for a nest, or the female mammal is ready to give milk.

    Raising Children:

    • As long as you keep your animal kids fed and watered they will grow.
    • By default, it takes around 1 Minecraft day to become an adult (this value can be adjusted in the config, under Growth Ticker Timer, where a lower number makes children grow up faster).

    Resources, Items, and Drops

We recommend JEI (mod) for recipes

    Hey guys -

This post was on our Issue Board, so posting it here for those of you who use Mr. Crayfish's Furniture Mod

Hello everyone! I come bearing gifts! ^^
I made up two recipes to use with the CFM's oven and Animania's Prime Beef and Prime Pork! I will probably make an omelet one (once I figure out the name for it; probably animania:omelet, right?) and once you can add recipes for the grill! For now though, here's one for roast prime beef and roast prime pork! You can use the following link to find out how to make your own recipes and how to add them into the config!
    http://mrcrayfishs-furniture-mod.wikia.com/wiki/Configuration

Now here's the stuff you paste into the config:

    type=oven,name=Cooked Prime Beef,input-item=animania:raw_prime_beef,output-item=animania:cooked_prime_beef

    type=oven,name=Cooked Prime Pork,input-item=animania:raw_prime_pork,output-item=animania:cooked_prime_pork

    Enjoy~!

posted a message on CarryOn: Lift, Carry and Place Chests, Pipes, Machines from any Mod with Your Bare Hands, no Item Required.

    Carry On
    Version 1.2 for MC 1.10.2, 1.11.2 and 1.12 !

Ever wonder why you can carry a stack of 64 empty chests in your pocket, but you can’t move a filled one with your bare hands? Well, wonder no more!

Carry On is a simple mod that improves game interaction by allowing players to pick up, carry, and place single block Tile Entities (such as Chests, Furnaces, Droppers, Hoopers, and your favorite machines from other Tech Mods) using only their empty hands. No items (or pickaxes) required. States, meta data, inventory and NBT data are retained. It also allows you to carry around smaller mobs!

    How it Works:

    • Sneak + Right-Click (with Empty Hands) on any Tile Entity to lift and carry
    • Right-Click to place

    Other features:

    • Works with single block Tile Entities from any mod (yes, tech mods too)
    • Respects the ‘lock’ functionality so Tile Entities cannot be stolen
    • Powerful config allows you to blacklist entire mods or specific blocks, and additional customization
    • Players can only carry one Tile Entity at a time, and are prevented from other actions when carrying
    • Carrying a Tile Entity slows the player. Items with fuller inventories will cause additional slowness

    Questions:

    • Are you making this for 1.10 and 1.12 also? Yes, yes we are.

    Known Issues:

    • Armor still animates when carrying a Tile Entity
    • Screen darkens when carrying Mobs at night
    • Arrows shot into players aren't rendered when the player is carrying

posted a message on Animania: Immersive Animals and Pets mod that improves the passive animal experience in Minecraft
    Quote from BloxmineXL»

I really like this mod, you've done a great job on it. Any chance on adding different birds?

Like seagulls or pigeons. It would work perfectly. I can already imagine seagulls flying above the sea and landing on your house and trying to steal your fish when you're holding it. Or pigeons searching for seeds and sitting on roofs.

Crows could also be nice of course.

    Nice ideas!

We do have other birds coming... in fact, this is one of our modelers specialties (Raptorfarian). These birds, however, were not suggested until now :)

posted a message on Inventory Pets: Animated creatures that live in your inventory and give you amazing special abilities
    Quote from RunicGlympse»

I'm going to suggest a pet of my own ideal interests, but it's going to be Minecraft-related.

    Name: Tome Pet

Appearance: Like a Minecraft book, but with the iconic derp face and a mixed Purple/Cyan tint

    Recipe:

    Leather, Paper, Leather

    Leather, Enchantment Table, Leather

    Leather, Paper, Leather

Food: Other Books (It's a cannibal!)

    Durability: 10/10

Abilities: When held, it will occasionally spit out sugar cane, which I believe is the digested version of books. If right clicked, it will spit out a magic tome, a projectile with the Enchanting Particles that, when hitting an enemy, will inflict the "Busy" debuff, making them immobile while doubling their attack. When the projectile hits the ground, it will enchant it for 10 seconds, and standing on it enchants you, making you regenerate half a heart once per 2 seconds. Due to the abilities listed above, I had to make the recipe resemble a book with an actual enchantment table, making the recipe quite expensive. It's worth it, trust me! :D

    (Sorry for stealing format @GlitchReaper)

    Another good one, thanks!

    • Looking to add awesome fun and new abilities into your game world?
    • Searching for super cute (and often deadly) friends that will stay by your side through thick and thin?
    • Ever wanted to make a fountain of sheep dance over the open ocean?

If you answered YES to any of the above the questions, that’s really swell. But we’re here to tell you about Inventory Pets, not to ask questions.

    What are Inventory Pets?

Inventory Pets are living animated creatures that exist in your inventory and give you amazing special effects, drops, buffs, utilities, defenses, and weapons in exchange for care and feeding. Plus, some pets, such as the Purplicious Cow, are especially handsome. The latest release contains 52 awesome, unique pets with mind-bending skills and fancy tricks, and 5 special pets only available during holidays.

    How do Pets Work?

Inventory Pets have unique and powerful abilities that become active when they are in your inventory hotbar. These effects expire if they are taken out of your hotbar or they have not been fed. Bad owner!

How do I get an Inventory Pet?

Inventory Pets can be acquired in two different ways:

    1. All pets, except for Legendary, are craftable using vanilla Minecraft materials. Material requirements are higher for rarer and more powerful pets.
    2. Pets can be found in four special places in the Overworld: Sea Caves, Cloud Dungeons, Treetops, and underground Dungeons.
    3. Sheep fountains can often provide a safe haven for deserving….

    Recipe Key

Here's an example recipe for the Creeper. Emerald Nuggets on the Outside, his favorite Food at the Top Center (Gunpowder), Diamond in the Center, and Gold Ingot at the bottom.

Most pets follow the above recipe structure. Materials for each pet (except Legendary) are listed above with the individual pets.

    • O = Outside Layer
    • F = Food
    • D = Diamond (usually)
    • G = Gold Ingot

Full recipes now shown above in Pet-O-Pedia!

    Dungeons

    Dungeon Facts

    • Sky Dungeons are protected by Blazes, which only appear when you are near the Chest. This is the only place you have a chance to get a Cloud Pet.
    • Sea Caves are protected by underwater breathing Cave Spiders. This is the only place you will have a chance to find the Pufferfish Pet. These are only found in the Beach biome.
    • Underground Dungeons are protected by fast-moving Zombies. This is the only place to find the Black Hole.
    • Treetops are the only unprotected Pet hiding spot, but may be harder to find. This is the only place where you have a chance of finding the Slime Pet. These are only found in regular Forests, Birch Forests, and Jungles.

How Do I Care for My Pets?

Each pet has unique foods they like to eat. Keep a small stack of this food anywhere in your inventory and they will find it and eat it. Nom! Some pets eat after a certain number of uses, other pets eat 1-2 times per Minecraft day. For more information on individual feeding habits, see the Pet-O-Pedia above.

    Other Pet Care Facts:

    • Most pet effects continue to work in Creative Mode.
    • Pets only get hungry when they are active in your hotbar. They do not get hungry if they are in your regular inventory or in a chest, or if you are in Creative Mode.
    • Want to name your Pet? Just press the 'n' key while holding a Pet!
    • Pet hunger is represented by a durability bar. When durability is zero, their effects will no longer work. Simply place their favorite food in your inventory to get them fully restored and active again.
    • For pets that give you items, you must keep them active in your hotbar in Survival Mode to receive the items. These pets drop items an average of 2 times per Minecraft day. This applies to the Cow pets which fill empty buckets as well.
    • Pets can bite. But you can’t feel it. Ok, they don't really bite.
    • Most pets are potty trained.

Can I use multiple Pets at once?

Yes! That’s part of the fun of the game. You can mix and match and combine fill up your hotbar with up to 9 Inventory Pets.

Can I use this in my modpack? Will it run on servers? Will it be compatible with other mods? Can I post it on spam sites?

    Yes, yes, yes, no.

    • Ok, more seriously. Yes, you can use it in your modpack. Just list us in your credits and link back here (the main forum page)
    • Yes, it runs on servers. We worked very hard to make sure it did. Even that crazy Black Hole and Moon pet work.
    • Yes, it is supposed to be compatible with other mods. If you run into a conflict, please let us know (see the Bugs section!)
    • No, please don't repost this and please don't download from those evil spam sites. They make us sad.

I'm having issues with Lag, what can I do?

Most of the issues have to do with the way 1.7.10 loads chunks. There are two ways to fix these issues:

    - Try out FastCraft, found here: http://forum.industrial-craft.net/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=10820. It's compatible with Inventory Pets and works on both Client and Server.

    - You can turn off Dungeon creation in the config file, and just acquire Pets through crafting. You can also turn on the recipes for the Legendary pets in the config file as well.

    Is this mod fun?

ZOMG! It’s the funnest mod since that other really fun one you used to play!

    I Found a Bug!

Yes, you will find some bugs. It happens. But you can help us fix it:

    Config file options

    • Disable Individual Pets
    • Disable Achievements
    • Disable and adjust pet abilities including removing grief-like abilities
    • Enable Legendary pet recipes
    • Enable Moon, Dubstep, and Black Hole to affect other players
    • Dungeon Frequency
    • Turn off Crafting
    • Turn off Dungeons
    • Pets Need Feeding
    • Hardcore Recipes
    • Hardcore Foods

    • German (Kokirijunge)
    • Spanish (inexist3nce)
We welcome any more contributions or updates, and in particular looking for Russian and Japanese. The current lang file can be found on GitHub.

    PVP

Though not intended as a PVP mod, Inventory Pets is really, really fun in PVP. Ridiculously fun.

    Examples of PVP games:

    - Choose 8 pets each and one weapon (no food)

    - Ghast/Cloud/Weapon vs. Ghast/Cloud/Weapon (flying battle)

    - You can also turn off 'Pets Must Eat' in the config file so you don't have to always refuel

Note: The AOE Pets and the Black Hole now work with Scoreboard Teams (for both buffs and negative effects). To turn on Moon, Black Hole, and Dubstep to affect other players, just update the setting in the config.

If anyone makes a great PVP map and/or video for Inventory Pets, we'd gladly post it here.

Did you never think about add animals like a deer? I'm asking because I ever wanted have a deer and ride them a one too, something different of a horse, but I never found a mod that let me do it. This is my little frustration since the Twilight Forest.

    Thanks.

Hmm... haven't discussed deer yet. Thanks for the suggestion.
