He asked and it was fine by me :)

I have no problem with a CC copypaste, that can be a pain to type out every time you make something, but just the ID software part, the fact he didn't check over it :P I usually don't do derivative works and just stick with standard Creative Commons when I make st00f :)

Hey spaz, probably take out the disclaimer part that mentions ID software :P you dont need ID software mentioned at all for yours.

Thankyou I tried pretty hard, anything in particular you thought wasn't entirely up to scratch?

Dem sewers... They needed a little something to stop them being boring and slow (part of the grindy stuff I talked about). Maybe nerfing the centre loot a little would be good too, but overall its a good map! I would say the sand part at the start, but gameplay wise its good...just certain servers hosts may not enjoy the subsequent lag..

Wow, pretty good! Especially for a first map. Although some aesthetics are a little poor, and certain areas become a little grindy (such as the bridge) it is quite good, and I found coming home from the bridge to be awesome tactically! (This is because both teams had made hasty ramshackle bridges, and we were easily shot upon, made for some adrenaline filled duels.) The fortress was also cool, but the end could deal with some adjusting.

I would say a 4/5, needs some work but pretty good!

how it gives that illusion i think is cool, let us know.
also, I cannot test that sound pack out, my minecraft sound isn't working in minecraft for some reason, someone let me know!!!

I, too have problems with my minecraft sounds! Only if I have Minecraft volume and my computer volume on 100% do I hear anything, and even then its barely audible.
I've been trying to find a solution but nothing works. If I find a solution or the cause of the problem online I'll let you know, since it's been affecting me too...

This looks very pretty, and I like the vibrance of it...
I was wondering whats the deal with the Opeth logo imposed over the moon though?

Hey, don't want to dampen any spirits... but this seems... impossible.
The scale you appear to be aiming for is too huge. A roughly perfect scale of America would be ridiculous to build, let alone having to create all of it in the style of the Fallout games. It would take years, and the file size would be impossible to handle. Plus with the lack of a server or any solid ideas as of yet it looks like a bunch of people just planning to spend the next 5 years of their life and gigs of data trying to make all of the Fallout games.

I'm not saying give up... your project seems to be a cool idea, but I'd say keep it to a reasonable scope! What you're trying to do wouldnt be feasable at all. Do the capital wasteland, the mojave or california but don't try to do all of them. If its anything like the projects I have done in the past trying to make something this huge is crippling you right from the start, and this seems like it would be promising if you cut down your ambitions a bit.

No problem. Turns out I had an outdated version of John Smith, would be why I didn't recognise it. I just whipped up a couple of buildings in a similar style to what you've done in the map and you can see a few different shots below. If you require more builds to decide just ask.
    I made a small cottage and a library-ish thing.

Looks stunning. Great atmosphere and the use of materials is excellent. May I ask what texturepack you used for the screenshots/video? It enhances the mood a lot and I'd like to explore the map in it.

Also; I would like to apply for the ability to help out with building for the next version. I build many things and am fairly innovative with usage of blocks. This map is truly spectacular and I would like to help make my mark on it. Any questions/things you would like to go over please PM to me, and I can try to convince you further :wink.gif:
