They delayed it till early March, but it's better for them finish a fully working update, than a buggy release.

Nope can't get it to work. a picture of your technique would be nice.
How ever you can achieve the rapid fire by placing a dispenser with a block beside it, and on that block put a switch. Next put 3 redstone wire in a loop connected to the comparator. Put the comparator in subtraction mode and then put a redstone torch beside the receiving end were the main power would enter. Refer to picture for a better understanding on what it should look like. Oh one thing the redstone wire is flashing rapidly, you can not tell in a still picture. =)
Not the idea I had in mind, but I included a screenshot of what I was saying. Below are two dropper blocks (can also be used with dispencers) both powered by that one redstone torch. One has a comparator with the torch off, while the other one has the comparator torch on (or subtraction mode). The dropper with the comparator torch off, is firing the items at a more faster rate and will continue until stopped. The other dropper isn't firing at all, which has the comparator torch lit. Both are filled with paper. Hope you understood the concept. But we still don't know if this feature is here to stay until 1.5 arrives.

Are you sure, I tested it again and works fine. If the front torch of the comparator is lit, is doesn't do the rapid fire thing. If the front torch is off, then it will do the thing correctly. Try it again with this technique. -

Yes! someone else who also wants it in vanilla. But yeah, I would like it too for adventure maps or simpler mob grinders/farms. -

No, fireworks are awesome and a great addition for new year's eve. And Minecraft was never meant to just be medieval. People can make their world like the present, or even the future.Quote from Bogy_Mac
I don't get it. Minecraft WAS supposed to be Medieval castles-and-knights, middle ages theme. Fireworks were not around 1500 years ago. Minecraft is just not what it used to be. The only things I see that are good in this update are the bug-fixes, Enchanting Books, and the new Christmas texture for chests.
Please do not keep the fireworks Jeb, they don't fit the Minecraft style!!!

Dec 13, 2012PonyDude186 posted a message on 12w50a Snapshot Ready for Testing! What sucks about this is that they nerfed the tools. Meaning like a pickaxe with efficiency V won't work on blocks like dirt or wood anymore.Posted in: News
So you would have to use the proper tools for their corresponding blocks. Damn I'll miss my op pick. -

When an enemy hits you, that enemy might get some damage. It's random at times. As if you had "thorns". -

So I'm not the only one with this problem too. It's really annoying and I get it a lot in the End.Quote from Sefirah
I can't believe they went ahead and released this version with the stupid flying torch lights bug still there. That is going to get so annoying, so fast!

Sep 20, 2012PonyDude186 posted a message on 12w38a Ready for Testing!I just tried the snapshot and can't wait for it. Although it's gonna take me a while for me to get used to the new sounds.Posted in: News
You are correct, the beacon block does have a bug when place. The bug is listed on the snapshot wiki.Quote from InfiniteTurbine
I like this snapshot alot. Very cool feature for Silverfish to rarely spawn in stone generated underground. Also, I like the Witch, it is going to be a nice mob. I just hate the fact that the Beacon texture was changed, they should probably re-add that yellow End Crystal back into the design. I think it may be a bug that it isn't there on the visible block, because the little yellow dot still appears in the texture while in your inventory.

1. This is my home on the server. I got the idea from a very similar build I saw last time. I like it's shape, it's different and not your everyday Minecraft homes. Took about one day to finish it, the frame of course, not the rest of the detailed stuff.
2. The kitchen inside my house you saw earlier. Not much, pretty basic, just finished it yesterday but still plan to add more to it.
3. This is my wool farm or sheep farm from a view above. It has all sixteen colored sheep in it, which I also just finished yesterday. Basic as well, not as detailed as my previous ones.
4. And lastly, this is from the nether. I'm very happy with how I created this hall to my blaze farm. Added a lot of... dark atmosphere here, because it fits so well, that's why I have almost no light in there. Of course brightness increased for screenshot purposes.

Not only do they function like carpet, but can also be used as bed sheets. Just something I wanted to share.

Front of the house.(ignore the floating pyramid in the upper right corner lol)
Kitchen, kitchen hall.
Living room, haven't put much into this part.
Texture pack used is called Soartex Fanver.

Personally, I like the way you had the torches with the straps around them.
But everything else looks superb. Still waiting anxiously for the official release.

Thank goodness I'am not the only one with this problem. Anyways, for me the most difficult thing to find is gold ore and jungle temples.

Nether quartz purpose isn't just for decoration, it can be used for decoration depending on the players taste. It's main role in the game is for redstone recipes wise. For example the light sensor and the comparator, which I think the comparator is one of the most useful tools added in redstone.
On Topic: As the others said, nether quartz ore was recently added in the latest update. More reasons now to travel into the nether. But for now, we don't need any new ores.
