UPDATE: Alright, so the website is doing great, new interface is working out really well. Now I am working on a website template so that it is not just a "floating" script. Once this is released in the next couple of days, it will be very user friendly, which is what I think is necessary for one of these sites. The site is still open for free registration, which includes 1Gb. So anyways, I will be back soon with an update on the new template re-design
Looks great, can't wait to try it out once the new platforming and stuff is over!
Thanks The new platform is going to be easy to use like this version, but with a lot more security for users, and more features I will also be putting out some new tutorials on how to use the website when the new one is live!
UPDATE: Website is NOW LIVE!! Check it out for free.
The time is finally here to announce the release of my brand new file sharing / cloud storage website for Minecraft. The site has been created for Minecraft creators to upload and share their creations around the web for players to download for free. We are still in beta, so each user will receive 1gb of free storage to start, and as the site grows I will provide more free storage
Within the first few minutes of being live, we have already had lots of Minecraft creators begin signing up and uploading their creations. We welcome you to register a free account and try out our file sharing application.
Since I don't think I am allowed to link to the site in this thread, I have posted the url in my signature. So please feel free to check out the site and try out all of the features
Glad everyone approves of the idea What I would do to get this going is to pay for the first month of server costs which would be around 500 dollars roughly ... and maintenance etc. I just want to know that the community is behind this idea and would actively use the site. Later I would need to open this site up for donations... I have spoken with my hosting company and have reserved the necessary servers, domain, and cloud infrastructure to make this work. Anymore thoughts? Or concerns? I would love any input that you may have...
Question: If I were to develop a cloud storage site specifically for larger minecraft uploads such as worlds, maps, projects ... things of that nature, do you think this would be a good idea for the Minecraft community?
I am a web designer, developer and could have this setup fairly quickly and ready for use. The basic setup would be as follows: create a free account, upload your minecraft creations, share / paste the link for the world to download...
Reasons for me brainstorming this idea: I have noticed a lot of minecraft creators struggling to find places that support the upload of their sometimes rather large files ... such as when FyreUK were having problems finding a place that would accept their 3GB world / map of "An Epic Hatventure".
The cloud would only be available for Minecraft creations, and each creator would have their own free account with login details to easily manage their uploads.
Anyways, I have the basic setup already figured out and the site would take very little time to do, I just wanted to get some feedback from the community to see if this was something worth doing and if anyone would even use it... Please leave some comments with what you think ... If this idea is not worth doing, no big deal ... I have lots of projects I am involved in but I thought this would be a good one
