My first world was great.
I spawned on the edge of a desert and forest biome.
I cleared away some sand, and punched some nearby trees.
I made a little sandstone sand castle, for the fun of it. I dug down and made a nice home in the hole. I didn't know how to make ladders, and since hatches just came out, I decided I'd use hatches as my "ladder". I put a small glass dome on the top of my house to view out,
and I decided I should go explore the desert a bit. After about 30 seconds, I find a dungeon. I clear it away, and I find a bucket and other things. I take the chests, and I go back to my house underground and put my stuff in the chest, and I decide to go west and east. I go west first, and I find myself a big pool of lava. Not knowing what I should do, I go back to my house and I either go north or south, but I forget. I made an iron pickaxe and I had a spare stone one with me, and I climb a hill and find some water. I go into the water to see if I can find anything underwater, but I can't so I decided to go home. I turn around, and I find yet another dungeon. I go in, loot the thing, and come out with some string from spiders. I then used the wiki what do do with lava, and I see I can go to the nether with it. I make many trips to the lava pool I found, and finally I made a portal. I'm proud of that world.
All computers have the same world generator in Minecraft, it's programmed in Java, which is cross-platform.
And I think 1.2.4 and 1.2.5 have different generators, but servers might have different generators than clients, too.
Is there anyway I can find a 1.2.4 server running thing through Google or something?
(EDIT) I figured they would be the same. Just wanted to ask and see if I was wrong about them being the same.
I don't really know what topic to post this in because it's server(Not looking for one) and seed related, so I'll just ask here.
My friend gave me a world from his server because he accidentally blew up a dungeon or two stuck together, and I wanted to know if it was a double dungeon or not so I asked for his world file.
I take the world and put it in my saves, I run Minecraft and get the world's seed. I make a new world with the same seed(I took my time copying it down into Notepad), and I make a new world.
It's not the same world.
So I was wondering, do 1.2.4 and 1.2.5 have slightly different world Generators?
Or do Macs and Windows 7 have different generators, but I doubt that.
So, can anyone answer these questions?
I found a bug, but I don't know if anyone else has said this yet.
I accidentally right-clicked on an etched wooden planks block with dirt in it, and I got the "Saving Chunks" screen.
No big problem, though.
I bet this bug will occur with the other things that can go inside the etched block, though, and probably with any other etched block.
(Random edit: Very cool mod. I like the little lights that look like the Enderdragon explosion and the Heal Beam light thing. I have a slight urge to place beacons everywhere.)
I have Optifine installed, and when I hit "F" 3 times (Like it would set the render distance to Short or Tiny without it) it makes the clouds disappear, so I have to use "Shift F" to get the clouds back or hit "F" again.
Do you think you could make it so it doesn't hide the clouds when you hit it so it thinks it's in Short and Tiny mode?
If not that's fine, but it would be nice.
In the options menu are the keys supposed to say "key.macro" and "key.macro_override"?
And when I hit (Sneak key) and Grave(Or whatever key I set it to) nothing opens up. Help please?
Space!
I wanna dress up with a dark black body and a space core for a head and be in space.
I REALLY want to do that!
Anyways, awesome mod you got there
