I already postet this in the "Contact" tab of the offical webside, but i wanted to be safe, that i get some advise, so i post it here.:
First of all: this is a realy great map. But I have a problem: everything is stable, I have about 100-200 fps but it takes up to 2 seconds for the inputs to give an output, wich isnt much of a problem... well exept, that it the fights are very slow because of that... i press my attack. 2 seconds later my pokemon starts moving (the movement/animation is laggy to) then 2 seconds later the enemy gets damaged... Im using Optifine in the 1.8.9 with 9GB ram (my pc has 12GB ram). So... any fixes? I saw it smooth in the trailer, so it has to be a problem of my side. Please help me, because i realy want to play this, but the fights are like 4 minutes for a wild encounter.... and thats pretty boring
I responded to your email two days ago:
One alternative would be to run the YouTuber's Edition to reduce the number of wild encounters: http://www.mediafire.com/file/cqev8phw144lcti/Phoenix+Projects%27+Pok%C3%A9mon+Cobalt+and+Amethyst+-+YouTuber%27s+Edition.zip
Otherwise, this is mostly a server side issue. May I see your F3 screen? There isn't a lot I can do here apart from recommend that you close background programs. Looking at those specs, I wouldn't have guessed it would take this long for a battle to run for you.
Can't see the video!
Did you click or remove him at any time? If not, then he should still be there.

No, "False Swipe" is not in the game.
Bug Report: Pokemon in the Boxes don't appear in right spot or don't appear at all but are still there
well figured out how to prevent it you just have to keep them all one after one no spaces in between
I think there's something else going on there. Pokémon storage with spaces in between will automatically fill those spaces when you exit the PC. Do you recall precisely what you did that may have caused this issue?
@VersilPerihelion: I'll have to get back to your post at another time if you desire a more in-depth response. Thanks!
@Crafterdark: Will be watching this soon!

OK, I'm willing to pull this apart as much as I can, but I'm limited by time at the moment, and I do not wish for this forum thread to turn into something that it shouldn't be.
"Before I go into more details, about your response. First, note, I haven't tried to look behind the curtain to see how many command blocks etc. are there, making sure everything (okay, most things) works... I do have some moderate experience with programming. Just so you know where I derive my opinion from."
I can tell you're trying here, but unfortunately "moderate experience with programming" just isn't enough. Command blocks are a completely different animal. Coding by text is far easier than dealing with a physical, 3D environment hindered by constant server lag. You cannot compare in the way you chose to. Your subsequent paragraph is dismissed to that extent. I can see where you're going, but it just doesn't work like that.
"Had I been anywhere past the mentioned point (before the first rival battle), I most likely would've had a working team already, so the entire point would be moot. So, essentially, your solution is to skip the rival battle which you placed there and go through Traverse Cave first to get the VS Seeker."
Not quite true - after the initial story outline, your lead should already be at LVL 8, only a single level below your rival's main. I admit to a fault that TM Dig should be obtainable ahead of the rival encounter, but it seems like that alone isn't necessary to win. In addition, I have no idea what "lvl 2 derp" is referring to. Perhaps you can enlighten me later.
"switching is not a free action. If you switch out, the mon you're sending out will take damage from the incoming move, so you'll need to heal up. But healing isn't a free action either, so you will take another attack. Rinse and repeat, until a: the enemy attack misses (rng), b: the enemy uses a non-offensive move (rng), or c: the enemy crits and takes you out (rng)"
I can only question your strategies here. While your later argument points back towards the lack of switch-grinding, you shouldn't need to rely on such strange methods to train. I'm not a stranger to Pokémon. I'm actually pretty bad at it. This map, while difficult, does not require this.
"So, the question arises: if [switch-grinding is] difficult to do, is it worth doing?"
I think you (not me) need to visit command blocks to properly rationalise my answer to this question.
"Daycares. Leave your mon with us and the grinding will do itself, slowly but steadily. Of course, it has some problems, like automatic move learning and skipping evolutions (which I can definitely understand why you didn't include in Cobalt/Amethyst), but you get some, you lose some."
Then you'll also understand why "switch-grinding" isn't a thing in this map. It's basically the same thing. An extra slot. More contingencies. Again, please read my immediately foregoing answer. This should cover your next several paragraphs where you continue to discuss the same thing.
"You can quietly fix it and update the download and just tell people who already have it to run one /setblock command and voila, problem solved. But instead, we got "just don't fall into it". With an approach like that, it's no wonder you're not willing to fix the game's mechanics if it's way more difficult. But then the question is, if it's too difficult and not worth doing, then why did you try to make a Pokémon game in vanilla Minecraft in the first place? There are other options, way more friendly for Pokémon games' specific mechanics - RPG Maker, or actual romhacks. Or was it just meant to be a display of skill, regardless of the end effect?"
Unfortunately, I am stuck with a horrific internet connection, which means updating the download would take substantially longer than most. There were /setblock commands on the bug tracker, but I've decided to remove them and only leave the more critical issues there. Surely switching to creative and then back to adventure mode wouldn't cause any more lag than a /setblock command. You can find this link on the main forum thread. Not sure why you didn't mention this in your post. I'm disappointed. The map is a display of skill on many levels. The end effect is just the same. It's so much more than you're making it to be.
"And speaking of romhacks and attempts at displaying one's skill"
Please, you cannot compare a Minecraft map to a ROM hack.
Thank you for your kind words on the music. I'd like to keep analysing what you've said, but it sounds like you're trying to compare apples and oranges, despite some design differences. Of course, there could be some improvements. I've admitted to these already - if you'd like to respond, please do so via my email ([email protected]).
Regardless, I'd like to commend your positive use of knowledge of Pokémon. It's sad to see you won't recommend this map to anyone on the substantial basis of a lack of switch-grinding. As someone who isn't so good at Pokémon, I was able to complete this map without any difficulty. As a veteran, you should be able to do the same.

Unfortunately too difficult with the redstone at hand. It would require around 30x more commands since it adds all of those contingencies, plus even more with move learning and evolutions. Therefore, you would have to employ different tactics to achieve this. It's definitely not impossible - the Vs. Seeker might help. Good luck!
Must be a trainer that you "lagged" past. You can just clear your slowness effect if that's the case ("/effect @p clear").

And I'm back with another problem.
I fought and tried to catch the or a Ferrousaur on route 18 after I throw a Pokeball at it, it breaks out and everything glitches out, nothing happens. I will add the link to my Episode later today it's right at the end so you can see what I mean.
It starts at around min 19
Ah, was just about to watch this video.
It looks like you double-clicked something just before that caused him to use "two" moves instead of one, thereby confusing the redstone.
You can use this command to bring up the battle menu again: /setblock 15 68 21 redstone_block
You can by backing up the world before running up to him!

Yeah, you need to wait for the message to appear before clicking the second button. It should appear almost instantly.
To fix your current issue, you'll have to "quickly switch" them back around.
Hope this helps!

Awesome! I am happy to know that there are other candidates available! I do have one recommendation to you is that you should remove the demo map forum. Whenever you search into google "Pokemon Cobalt and Amythyst" the demo map comes up. A better replacement is a link to the full version here or someway to remove that forum. Its just a suggestion for if someone is looking up the map and you want them playing the full version.
Updated! Thanks for the reminder!

I'm sorry Phoenix, I simply don't have anything to fit your description of what you need at the current time. I am more of a set builder, lighter, asset assembly, rig-er, and compositer (hue-staturation-vignette-etc.). I do hope you find someone in the near future that can work on the trailer for this awesome map. If you do need someone that can do any of the traits I listed above, feel free to contact me again. Thanks.
That's OK! Luckily, a viewer has sent over a list of potential candidates via Skype. I really am eager to do this! It could give the map a solid boost!

I need a longer sample, at least 30 seconds long to demonstrate you have the capacity to create a high-quality trailer. This includes the inclusion of sound effects, both ambient and not, and speed control. I'm not an animator, and so I'm judging based on a layperson's perspective.
The resource pack is included in the world. There is no need for you to do anything.

They look quite nice! Do you have any non-360 videos? Cannot see much right now, but the lighting and overall feel are great!

So in the recent video you said you need an animator for a trailer or short. Im not an animator but I have a way I could help. Ive recently got into voice acting, so if you need voice actors for the animation then I would love to help!! So if you need voice actors you can message me on twitter or on this forum. I really hope I can help and I hope you consider this if you do need voice actors. I hope you're able to find a animator soon, I wish you the best of luck!
(Also if you wanted I could send you some examples of what I've done so far.)
Nah, the trailer will not have any voice acting. I want it to be dynamic, rapid, and rather short. If it's to be a YouTube ad (forbid...), then it'll be more effective this way.
Hey Phoenix! My name is Joshua and I am a student in high school. I like to do little modelings in animation software called Blender. I have used blender for 3 years now and I am currently enrolled in an animation class. I watched your video asking for animators and I thought it would be helpful if I at least pitched in what I could. I don't know exactly what you had in mind as a script or anything, or if you wanted something 3D based. If you are willing to discuss further, you can add me on skype, with my IGN being legojoshua12. Thanks.
Please attach some examples of previous works. Thanks!

It was mostly server lag (where everything in the world runs a whole lot slower.) And something went screwy with the wiring a bit after the first battle against the people with the blue ties. I went back to Serenity City as Professor Cedar said, on the way having that vision, and after the vision I went back to Cedar's lab and... nothing happened.
Does walking back home trigger anything?
