Starting location is usually somewhere between -50,-50 and 50,50 on the X and Z axis. So if your house is close to your starting coordinates you'll find it by getting close to 0,0.
Create a new map, 4 pieces of iron + 1 redstone dust (Compass) & 8 paper.
It's definitely not a fast way, but it can be faster to disable autosaves and enchant your pickax or whatever. Then, if it isn't the enchantment you want, hit the PS button and close Application. Reopen and try again.
I've been playing PS4 version solo, multiplayer on my maps, and multiplayer on someone else's map for the past 4 months. Minecraft has never once frozen/crashed. I've never encountered any of these problems people are talking about
After playing the PS3/PS4/PSVita and PC versions and trying to create many things I've come to the conclusion that the Console versions (in it's current state) are simply unplayable after creating a fairly large base.1
Villager and farm animals caps are rediculously low. There is no point for the PS4 have the same cap as the PS3 when the PS4 world is 36x bigger.2
Current water flow bug makes several farms and builds impossible. Blaze spawners in the nether weren't even working half the time because the mob cap was already reached.3
Great example of that impotent nerd rage so very common on the internet.
1) a baseless claim, no explanation or comparison of why after building a large base that the game is unplayable.
2) It's the same cap as PC for mobs.
3) clarification: current water flow bug makes several XP-Farms and builds impossible. The bug itself is one that isn't 100% replicable . No one from my multiplayer group has run into this bug before. It certainly can be annoying but it's not something that happens often.
Solution is to stand as far away in the direction you want the piston to face as possible.
not always the best when you're placing them in cramped quarters and you may have to break the blocks around and replace them to get it to work but it gets the job done.
Why are skeletons and the slenderman homage ok but not witches? seems kinda messed up. Dude, it's called Peaceful mode. You sound like one of those psychotic evangelicals that ban harry potter because they think witches are real.
Create a new village by: (A) Absconding with 2 villagers 35 blocks away from the nearest door, (B) Use splash potion of weakness and 2 golden apples to cure 2 zombie villagers best found through use of a zombie spawner or waiting long enough for them to spawn naturally.
Build compact village by: placing 4 doors all next to each other facing the same way, put a stack of blocks (dirt preferably) on the ends of the doors. Rotate around and place 2 doors on opposite sides of each other. Place a stack of blocks on the ends of the doors. Rotate around to place 4 doors side by side facing the same direction.

Then cover the roof with blocks.
you now have a village that sustains 3 villagers.
From within, dig down 6 blocks and create a room. create an exit that leads to the surface with a iron door or other mechanical effect that lets you through but not villagers.
knock 2 villagers into the hole. seal it up from the top.
Make sure the villager that is not in the hole is safe from mobs and you now have an infinitely breeding village.
periodically go down and check what villagers have to trade. If you don't like what they are trading, KILL THEM.
Leave at least 2 down there to continue breeding until you have the trades you want.
if you care about wasting money on skins and texture packs (which are free on PC) and are OK with Vanilla minecraft (only PC has mods) then XB1 would be the best choice.
If you want to play with friends then which ever system more of your friends have would be the best choice,
Is it any difference from PS3, I hope the numbers are bigger, on a multiplayer server with around 10 different people of which 3-4 are usually on all the time.
L3 is the button to sprint in like every single First Person game I own.
R3 is Crouch for about 80% of First Person games- and those other 20% let you remap crouch to R3.
This ****ing game and it's retarded use of L3 for perspective change is so aggravating. Perspective should just be removed from the controller and have it in the "Options" section in the menus.
(PS, D-Pad is used for movement in Creative mode while flying)

you only need 15 bookcases to reach lvl 30 enchantments.
In Zskullz's picture, the outside corners do not need to be bookshelves as they do not affect the enchantment table.
Don't stack more than 2 bookshelves on top of each other.
Nothing can be on the floor (carpet, torches, etc) between the Table and the Bookshelves.

. . . You realize this is PS4 section of the minecraft forums, right? You may want to check over there:

lol, the whining is actually funny.

Best one though, whining because he can't find people doing multiplayer-creative mode

stacking non-identical half-slabs (e.g. half slab of wood underneath half slab of stone)

Ha! Ok, totally misread that. OP was listing systems they owned. Derp.
Yeah, only difference between XB1 and PS4 is that PS4 has fewer skin, texture, and combo packs available.

Interestingly enough the End Portal doesn't spawn but pretty much every other location on this map has been exactly the same.

Resetting the Nether just reverts the Nether to its previously unexplored state.
