Mar 13, 2014Pent9 posted a message on Snapshot 14w11b Ready for TestingThe Endermite is a cool idea, but the new minecart physics are horrible. I don't know what they were thinking when they come up with that. Does Mojang not know that minecarts de-railing at corners and bouncing back at hills is bound to break things? It's going to be a massive headache to deal with on worlds where there are large automated rail transportation systems.Posted in: News

Shafts just end that way. There isn't supposed to be anything special there. If you do find something, it was put there randomly by the game and is not related to the mineshaft.
To answer your second question: I don't take my torches back. Coal is common enough and I don't want monsters spawning there if I ever want to go back for some reason.

Plus, the living room has a white carpet and when I get some bookshelves I'll add a TV. I'll probably expand this house a bit over the next coming week, maybe add a little bit more area, add walls between rooms, add a bathroom, finish the basement, etc.

And then there is the issue of piracy, but the book, when moused over, it says "By (insert name here)".
So if the SMP server has a way of verifying books going up for sale, only the ones with the original author's name would be sold.
A book press would be useful for some other reasons too, like you could easily make backup copies in Singleplayer.

Which is hardest to survive in? Ocean
Which is your favorite? Mountains
Which is easiest to start a new world with? Forest
Which is hardest to start a new world with? Desert

But if it's just one biome, My favorite is either a pine forest or a taiga. (snowy pine forest). There are a lot of trees for wood and lots of wolfs for pets.
Jungles are abundant with wood and pets but those are very hard to build in because of the underbrush. So that one is not quite my favorite to spawn in.

But normally I play on normal. (No pun intended.)

In one of my more recent worlds, I was still living in the side of a hill, and when I came out the door, a creeper was right there waiting for me. And it killed me.
So there you have it, I hate creepers.

mega structure. It actually looked ok for something a total noob made, but unfortunately, you can't save classic worlds. So i don't have that world anymore.
My first minecraft world after buying the game the one I made in beta 1.8 back in september or october 2011. For some reason, I chose creative in the game mode options. I built a nice house, Found an npc village, I explored around and found some really nice features of the randomly generated world. I know I still have that world. I haven't gone back in it for some time now though.
It wasn't until just a little later when I made my first survival world. I created a new world, Made it survival, and had no idea what to do other than just, look around and wonder what everything was. I decided to learn how to play on survival, found some tutorials, and started punching trees. When i first learned how that worked, I was all like, "So you hold down the left mouse button to break the wood! Wow!" So, it didn't take long for me to start making planks sticks, tools, and eventually, bows, arrows, fishing rods, signs, etc. I started mining and building my house. However, I had no idea you could change difficulty, And i thought at first when you die, that's it. My first few worlds I died and I deleted them because I lost my items. But then on my fourth or fifth world, I decided not to delete the world. And I still have that one. So thats what it was like for me in minecraft when I first started out.

Here is a screenshot of the cave entrance:
Following the cave downwards, you should come across some lava spreading into water forming cobblestone. Once the lava finishes spreading, It should look like this:
Now, drop down to a block near the lava and turn. You should see a small opening in the cave floor. This isn't your only option, there are a few different branches you can explore, but from what i've found, this way is the best. Here is a screenshot:
Cords are: X: -54 Z 278. Getting around the lava and down through the opening safely on survival mode can be a challenge, So be sure to bring at least one water bucket. (For those new to the game that don't know how water could work: water can be placed to kill the lava, picked back up, then used to safely get down through the opening) Once you are down there, you can see just why this seed is so awesome. Visible quantities of every ore in the game exist in this massive circular room. (gold, lapis, coal, iron, redstone, diamond, that's about everything right?) Here is a screenshot of the cave:
Now, turning around and going to these cords: X: -43 Z: 268, you should see a lava lake with some water creating obsidian, and some diamonds. Screenshot of the lava lake with diamond.
Another screenshot of the cave. This is an aerial picture taken from the cave ceiling with the diamonds visible.
And, when the cave is explored thoroughly, You can find many other circular chambers, winding caves varying in size (some areas of the caves are very large) and last but certainly not least, After exploring the cave for a long time, I found a zombie dungeon at these cords: X: -79 Z: 289. Feel free to explore the cave yourself, and leave a comment telling me what you find!
