I generated a beta world, and after digging down just a little ways I found a huge cave, and like 3 patches of diamond that I haven't mined out yet... I think I got very lucky :] I've only ever found like 4 diamonds before
Fell into lava. Restocked and headed back down my mining shaft, walked right off the ledge and into the lava again :sleep.gif: I lost like 5 buckets! grrr
Not as exciting as some other people's stories, but here's mine~
One of the first days I was playing minecraft, I had gotten lost for a bit in a cave and when I made my way back out I had a huge stack of iron and all kinds of goodies. I get into my house, and I had been playing on peaceful the whole time, so I decide to turn the monsters on (without putting my stuff away). After a while of being scared and surrounded, thinking I was safe in my house, somehow a creeper appears and blasts a huge hole in it and kills me... And this was like the first time I died too, so I freaked out and instead of running back and trying to re-gather my items I force quit my browser thinking it wouldn't save. And then when I logged back into the game of course my items are still gone, and my spawn point was changed to a really crappy place..! Boo. But I know better now :3
I'm not sure if there is a way to change your e-mail; looking at the site it doesn't look like there is, but I don't think it matters that much. The only e-mail I've gotten from minecraft was just confirming my payment for the game.
Moving on to your other questions, I was worried about buying the game too. Partly because I don't have a paypal account, and also because I don't feel totally comfortable buying stuff online with my card. But I bought the game just fine, got the confirmation and was able to play right away, I haven't had any problems yet :] I don't know how much of a delay, if any, there would be right now since it's so close to beta... The site and the game itself was down quite a bit yesterday but it seems to be working fine now.
And yes, the game is $13 USD ($13.16 according to google) if you buy it now. I was charged a foreign fee, so you might as well, which brought my purchase a bit over $14.
Same... after I try playing the game and java doesn't load, if I try to go back to the website or the forums it won't work. I restarted my browser just now and the website still doesn't work, but the forums do, and every other website is fine.
I tried searching for this but I couldn't find it; if it was somewhere I'm sorry and you can get rid of this topic.
I see people talking about using appdata and stuff to play minecraft, and I have firefox set in private browsing all the time and always clear my history. So would having my settings like this make me unable to play the game or save my files? I haven't bought the game yet, but I want to make sure it wont be a problem for when I do. Thanks in advance :]
