I build what everyone builds when they start a survival world. A Turing-complete CPU then write a program for Berzenheim's line algorithm and project it onto a GPU with an 864 x 864 display to plot the most efficient course to the nearest cave.

And dont say no because clearly you do when you xboxlive GT is chopper

Maybe he has a LIVE account, but no access to the internet from his console? It's not really that uncommon. I had a gamertag since I was about 14. Down the road, I sold my console and didn't buy a new one for several years. When I did, my account was still there; they don't just cease to exist.

He may not even have an internet connection in his home. He might be at the library right now. He could be at a friend's house. He might even be posting from a smartphone using his 2/3/4G service. Granted, he could turn the hotspot on with said phone, or take said console to said friend's house, but that's beside the point. I'm just saying to think carefully before boldly expressing such loose assumptions.

Copying someones homework isn't cool, especially if it's incorrect and you're only sucking up because she's a girl!

ChikkaBowWow is a guy... Also, coordinates are based on a grid between the blocks that make up a world, not crossing the center of the blocks. When you refer to (0,0) it is actually the northwest corner of the southeast block, not the block itself. All in all, I believe Chikka's answer is the best you're going to find.

why is it always "ive seen someone do it or i know of someone who did it.."what have you done ? besides hate? and correct you cannot tell because of lack of descriptions.. because im leaving it a mystery.. a real redstone god could figure out the workings of it with a little thought...alot of people interpret the design the wrong way..simply because they do not know....ive been playing mc since the first alpha.you name it.. i built it...and for you to come and tell me to conceal my ego..really? you do not know me..you read a few posts and automatically assumed you did..did it ever occur to you i was maybe just ecstatic about my build i had just finished. and yes at the end of the day..it is still just battleship...even if they all work totally different..maybe you should conceal your outlandish opinions a bit..i know of a design someone built..its a very nice 5x5 dirt house.........

One accusing another of "hating", who quoted oneself insulting yet another party. Read this, please. I don't care how good you are at redstone, you can't figure out how a machine works by looking at a vague, grainy, camera phone picture. There is no mystery, it's knowledge that has already been discovered, anyone can find it with enough effort. Why not just explain it in your topic and save everyone the trouble? Don't just say it's different and better than every other design, show us why you think that is the case. If you really want, go to my profile and look through my topics list for some of my projects. But we're not discussing my builds right now, that's not really relevant. I don't understand why you're so determined to prove yourself better than anyone. Also, how do you interpret a design the wrong way? There is nothing to interpret. No matter who is looking at it, it will have the exact same statistics, based on speed, size, density, I/O, mechanics. Some will have special characteristics, being anti-burnout, pistonless, instant, being edge-triggered, monostability, holding states, utilizing dual-rail logic. They can also be built to the standards of any numerical system, but to everyone in the world, these traits will be exactly the same for any given design. In terms of performance, there is nothing to interpret. By the way, you just boasted about your experience in a videogame, then scoffed at my advice to show a little modesty... So, yeah, refer back to this.

EDIT: I've never insulted your projects; though it seems you have no problem doing so. Since you're so sure of yourself, I challenge you to find a redstone computer tutorial that shows how to build something anywhere near as powerful as my CPU.

EDIT: That post came out more rude than I thought it would. This isn't an excuse, but you did start this whole fiasco. Don't complain to the mods about your derailed thread when you start a flame war. That being said, I apologize for stoking the fire and escalating the situation. Your build isn't unimpressive, it's just not even close to the level you are implying.

yea we probably all have lol ...but not as user friendly /simplified as mine..you have to understand redstone and how in depth contraptions work to realize the difference of the machines lol :)

I've seen a few Battleship games done "through software" without mods. I even know of one done on MCXBLA that has turn-taking, win detection, and preset "boats" of proper sizes. Also, the grids are 10x10.

You might want to conceal your ego a bit; a little modesty goes a long way. It appears and sounds like a nicely designed game of Battleship, not that I can really tell for lack of screenshots and descriptions. But, at the end of the day, it's still just Battleship.

Are you connected through WiFi? What kind of internet connection do you have? Cable? DSL? Satellite? (god forbid) All we know right now is that, for some reason or another, your connection is very slow. We need more information before we can find a specific issue.

posted a message on I have lost interest in every single video game, especially MC.
    Quote from UpUp_Away95

Boredom is an internally generated state of mind solvable by yourself but seldom solvable by others. While boredom with a single thing is quite natural, boredom with everything can indicate onsetting depression and become a serious problem.

I don't know how old you are. If you're older, this article might be of help:

    http://www.psycholog.../201012/boredom

Here's a key quote from it:

"How, then, can we change our mindset so that the boring becomes interesting? It begins with a recognition that every circumstance, every activity, contains within it the potential to yield value, either to us or to someone else. If we insist on always being passively entertained by life, we'll find ourselves bored by much of it. On the other hand, if we can transform that expectation into a determination to make an effort to create value at every moment, we can begin to make even the most mundane experience interesting."

When learning something, it's easy for me to get interested in it... even obsessively; but when that time passes and it seems like there is nothing else to learn, I can start to feel really bored with it. At that point, teaching what I've learned to someone else often breathes new interest in the activity for me. In addition, teaching others often leads to me learning even more "stuff" about the thing I thought I knew everything about because learning is actually a life-long experience.

You can pretty much just read the above post and skip the rest, OP. It's pretty amusing how a thoughtful post written with good intentions earns just as much rep as a rude sarcastic insult. Anyway, here is another link I found which you may find useful. It would be ideal to practice something like this now. As you get older, life will likely become more stressful and self-motivation will grow more difficult.

posted a message on Huge possible update
We don't know much about Microsoft's next console, but I'm very confident in saying that its OS won't even be remotely similar to Windows 8. As for Java, the language will never be fully supported by any console. Not by Microsoft or Sony anyway, Nintendo might as they don't seem to care about attempting to design a powerful system. We already have a Minecraft that is much more efficient than the original PC version. The smart and obvious move would be to build on the improved foundation, rather than going back to something inferior.

As for the other question, it is definitely possible. You can play MCPC on your 360 if you really want to. It just takes a little time and a lot of money. I just really doubt it would be officially implemented by either 4J or Mojang.

oh well, looks like this just got put on hold indefinitely.

Not necessarily. Topics are often skipped over, especially when the OP has been answered and the problem solved. It would probably be best to start a new thread if you run into another issue. I can take a look at it, but I won't be on LIVE until this weekend. You're welcome to add me in the meantime.
